One of my favourite scents as a teenager was Hawaiian White Ginger. Don't know who made it but it was such a pretty scent. We have a 25 yo Himalayan named Bubbles. We adopted after our elderly neighbour passed away. She is in really good condition, so much so that I think she's still got a few more years in her. X Isi
its so beautiful where u live. all you hear are the birds chirping, no sounds of traffic passing by or airplanes flying above. and then you have the beach all around true paradise!
We had watermelons growing, about 6 the size of bowling balls, looked out one morning to see next door's rabbits eating them.. of all things, rabbits ate our watermelons!! Oddly we ended up taking in one of the rabbit's babies, now he lives on our balcony! He has a bunny blog at balconybunny.com xxx By the way, we live on the Gold Coast of Australia :D
The smell of the ocean... It always triggers happy memories with my family and grandma when we were little at the beach! Building castles and playing in the surf! Thanks for being that up!!
You guys should look into getting Neem Oil to keep the pests out of the garden- it's natural and works well! :) the garden is looking lovely! We have two pineapples growing from eaten pineapple. They're huge bushes but there's no sign of fruit yet- it's been about 6 months now... Glad to hear Mitzy is thriving! We have 2 English Bull Terriers that adore the sunshine and are so glad we live here on Maui now so they can laze around and nap in the sun almost all the time. :)
I could sit in your garden all day and stare at your lovely flowers. They are so beautiful Christine. I live your videos....can watch you all day! It's really difficult to have a garden patch when u live in a condo right in the middle of concrete jungle!
Look at your garden! It seems like just the other day there was just grass there. That beach looks so lovely, and hardly any people! I love a quiet beach. I like the scent of tea tree oil but it triggers nothing for me. LOL. My favorite scent is actually a combination of Old Spice cologne and pipe tobacco. My grandfather smoked a pipe and he always wore Old Spice. The scent combination was unique to him. Made me feel so happy and safe. I used to sit on his lap and talk to him while he sat in his favorite chair. I miss that old man! Such nice memories. I was very little too. I was around 3 or 4 I think. Funny that I still remember that. Thanks for triggering that sweet memory! Blessings...
Your garden looks amazing! It's so cool that you are allowed to plant it all in a rental. Just went back & watched your garden update from mid February & I can't believe how quickly everything has grown. I hope I will have somewhere one day to do this, I have about 4 plants on my balcony right now. Orchid, aloe vera, basil and agave. Love eating my basil too! Really love the wild, cottage style garden feel! Beautiful! Oh & the bird bath is awesome, well done Michael! Thanks for the tutorial :D
Love your garden and you've given the wildlife a wonderful refuge. I also have to remark that you and your husband seem to have a such a wonderful relationship. I find it all very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
I have two spoilt cats. But for 8 years I was the proud pet mama of domesticated Fancy Rats. They only live a couple of years, but they are loving, clean, smart ( like mini dogs) and learned tricks easily. I miss them, but the constant losing of them got to be too much for me. At one time I had 8 at once and they had their own room with things to play with and run through on the floor around the room. I would have never thought Fancy Rats would have been such great pets....but they were one of my all time favorite animals to love and care for. And I spoilt them rotten I can tell ya!
ahh! It's so true! We had two pet rats, they were so loving! My Sister had 7 of them, and she said the very same thing, that losing them like that, in succession almost, was heartbreaking! Her rats in particular had amazing individual personalities! They are quite different to wild ones though! I wouldn't wanna mess with one of those, lol!
LOL...yes, wild ones wouldn't be so fun I don't think. All of mine had individual personalities too. I had one I called Pru the shrew because she was a little temperamental....lol: I rescued a number of mine. They showed me how grateful they were for the duration of their short lives. :O)
The smell of coffee always brings back memories of road tripping with my grandma when I was younger. She lives in TX and I'm in ID. For a couple of summers she would drive all the way up here and stay a couple weeks then take me back with her for a few weeks. It'd be four in the morning and we'd stop at a Jack in the box or What A Burger and she would drink coffee before we got back on the road. So now if I even smell coffee I think about it. It's really the only scent that takes me back.
Hi Christine, if you want to stop the bus from eating your plants just mix a small amount of dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spray you plant it will help a lot, or also if left over cold coffee will also do the trick.
Love the garden and the beach.....my favorite scent is Hawaiian tropic sun tan oil it reminds me of going to Florida at the beach when I was a little girl and laying around ten pool. I could where that scent as perfume I wish they would make it in perfume.
Beautiful garden! Lots of great stuff going on! Thanks for sharing it with us! 2 cats, 2 fish, a hamster, and my blk lab passed away at 7 from cancer in Jan 2013 and I have just now gotten to the point of wanting another so...soon!
The smell of toasted Italian bread with butter! Ahh.... we would dip it in hot chocolate and then you saw the small droplets of melted butter swirl around your mug! It was a absolutely heavenly breakfast treat... Mom usually made oatmeal! But every now and then on the weekends we would wake up to that smell of butter bread... Good memories! Plus we had all kinds of animals growing up: dogs, cats, insects, birds, snakes, lizards, guinea pigs, gerbils, gold fish... frogs... if we spotted in the street, we took it home. As an adult I had Mesu, my kitty, for 18 years, she passed away, and was, and is irreplaceable.
I like to buy a new fragrance when I travel so that when I'm back home every time I use it I think about where I was when I bought it and the memories of the trip.
Your garden is stunning, it really shows the work you and Michael have put into it, looking forward to seeing how the tomatoes and melons grow. I have four dogs, Bailey, Biesha, Brody and Harley ages 17, 14, 12 and 2 years and I also have two cats who are brother and sister and they are also 12 years old.
the smell of roses always reminds me of my grandma. She loved wearing perfumes that smelled like roses. She passed away and I loved her dearly like my mother so now everytime I smell roses, I feel like she's thinking of me.
Lilacs! My grandparents farm had rows and rows of them. Almost like a fence all the way around their property. As a kid I spent a lot of time there, because I loved animals and loved being outside. My grandparents passed away within a few months of each other and we sold the farm. It was devastating. Every time I smell lilacs I think of my Oma and Opa ❤️
Good to see you and Michael doing well! The garden has grown so much it is beautiful! At my house we have many lemons and planted many fruit trees and berry bushes! As for pets I have two dogs-rottie/g. Shepard mix and a chow, two birds-gcc and budgie, working on getting a galah cockatoo one day! Many fish, a sassy box turtle and a leopard gecko!
Love your garden--it's so pretty. I'm in Colorado Springs where we're having a blizzard today. I'm so over winter! We have 2 rescue dogs (Border Collie & Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix) and 2 guinea pigs. So glad to hear that Mitzi is doing well. xoxo Sue
The garden looks like a happy place. Yes, that is the only way I can describe the feeling I get from it.. a happy place :) Greetings to Michael as always!
pinksofoxy My husbands name is Michael too ;-). This garden makes me so sad because all my flowers, plants, etc...have died. We live in Dallas Tx and we have two acres just outside of the city, but because of this drought it is killing everything. They have already said that our natural water supply in a lot of the rural areas/ suburbs will be completely depleted in just 2 years. Basically the Dallas area is slowly turning into a desert and its so sad to watch that happen. Dallas is way in the Northern Part of Texas (you know where it is) and it was always a lush, green, flowery place, and now with global warming it is turning into a desert. Its so nice to see your garden though, it put a smile on my face :-).
Your videos are so calming yet inspiring. I so look forward to each new one. You have encouraged me on my journey towards a more simple life. I realised that all of the things that I thought I needed from watching other youtubers are unnecessary (at least for me). I was keeping things for special occasions, accumulating more stuff and not using and enjoying the things that I had. Thank you Christine and Michael. All the best to you both and keep the videos coming!!
I'm so excited. We bought our home in November and we have a huge yard! Planning lots of veggies and the fronts and side are going to have lots of flowers. Especially daisies and poppys
10 cats from the neighborhood that I brought to be spayed and neutered and they never left! Lol! Now I'm buying canned and dry cat food by the tons! cats are so cute with their different personalities!
Hey there! Thank you kindly for your garden update- I am so inspired! Everything looks just gorgeous. I bet the landlords are really happy having you there. The front lawn went through such an amazing transformation. Talk about an ultimate gardening spot : ) In response to your question- the smell of roses makes me happy because it reminds me of my Grandma, she wore rose oil. As for pets- I have a dog and a cat and a husband hahah : ) xo love from Jessica
Hi :) I watch them all. Its like we are hanging out again. You look gorgeous and Michael is adorably perfect for you and your garden is an oasis! Love you Christine! XoXXoX
Wow, how beautiful it is, it's incredible that it went from a bare yard to this in such a short time. Everything is happy and I can hear the birds singing. Seeing the butterfly enjoying that sunflower was special. You did the right thing not to take Mitzy from her new friend. xoxo
Wow! I am amazed at how much your garden has flourished in such a short amount of time. It's beautiful. You both did an awesome job. The weed is my favorite. Lol! He's not going anywhere. He stands tall and proud among all the pretty flowers. Ha!Ha! We have four little ankle biters here. Lol! Yes, Chihuahua's. We love them to pieces. :)
I never post comments but you and your husband seem like genuinely nice people :) its refreshing. Michael reminds me so much of my husband. My hubby is awesome so that's a compliment. Love your videos
You'll have to give your dragon fruit plant a sturdy stake soon. Most dragon fruit orchards I've seen - the plants are trained along a stake up to about 4 foot and then allowed to branch out like a standard and that seems to give the most fruit.
Christine, the garden looks great! I started mine too from seeds and it is inexpensive and rewarding :) My favorite scent is a wood fire burning, it has got to be the coziest scent, next to vanilla of course. It triggers great fall memories of my childhood. I also have three cats, they all love to roam my 3 acre farm!
Jergen's Original Cherry Vanilla Body Lotion always reminds me of my grandmother, Bessie Roe. Coty L'Origins Face Powder always reminds me of my mother. Both of them have passed away but those scents always take me back to my childhood. Also, I have two male brothers Shetland Sheepdogs, Shelties, named Spike and Clyde who are 10 years old and an indoor cat, Brenda, who is 15 years old who sleeps around my head every night. Thanks for update on your beautiful garden!!! Such a difference from when you first moved in!!! Thanks for video and take care!!
Everything Is So Beautiful And So Bright Love It The Butterflies Are So In Love With The Sunflowers The 🐦 Are So Little In The Bird Bath That Michael Made And I Really Like It
A long time ago Avon made a scent call Hawaian Ginger and it was the best scent ever. Nothing has come close to it. But since my teens I've used Love's Baby Soft spray and my daughter calls it the mommy scent. As far as animals go we have 9 cats and one dog but we've had fish and birds, dog, cats all at one time.
Hi, beautiful garden !! I can't believe how fast everything has grown. Still waiting for our spring to sprung (lol) My favorite scent is the lilacs and snap dragons, they remind me our my favorite gal ( my Grandmother). I have 3 beautiful tabbies kitties (and orange, a brown and a half silver), named Boots, Sophie, and Max. I used to have my beautiful Holland lop ( Ms. Holly) and my sexy white guinea pig ( Ms. Peggy),Sadly, I lost my 2 girls and still have not gotten over their passing, I have been blessed in my life to of had some amazing furbabies . big hugs to you both
Thank you for this....literally we had an ice storm followed by a 20 cm dump of snow...i'm so over it and ready to move to Hawaii lol..... your vlogs definitely help! Can't wait to start my garden! Much love! Steph xo
Absolutely amazing I love your garden! You are such an amazing person with best heart! You are amazing! Such a sweet genuine person you are! Love your videos!!!
My youngest 'child' is Mia - a Miniature Schnauzer. My grandson and I rescued her when she was 11 months old (she's now 4 years) and she has given me (my family) so much love and affection. Adorable and intelligent companion. Poor little thing had been left alone every day for 15 - 17 hours in quite a confined space. But life is good now - she owns my home, my time and me. lol Loved your garden BTW
thank you for sharing your day in Kihei! Brings back memories of my trip to Maui in 2012. The Whole Foods and Maui Mall brought so many memories as well. And the Chinese take out place in the mall was my favourite, cheap and cheerful, and the food wasn't too shabby. I befriended the owner and had great chats the brief time I was there. Hope to see more of your day to day events soon its so fun.
So many scent memories for me! One of my favorites is freshly laundered sheets. Reminds me of my mom and being little. My bed sheets always smelled nice and clean. Another is the Bonne Bell bubblegum Chapstick:) I have an apricot Cockapoo named Hannah and she is my little furry baby...your garden is amazing, and I so look forward to your videos!
I agree w the movies! Always felt that way..for the price you pay to go see it..its better to wait and watch at home..comfy cozy! Love your garden! Its nice to see, here in PA. Weve had a loong winter!
Just wanted to tell you how much I love tthe scenic videos...I think Hawaii is so beautiful and has been my dream to visit there, but haven't had the chance. I live in Ohio which is ugly and I love tropical places and the ocean is my true love. Your garden is looking great and I love the banana tree!! Thanks for showing all of us viewers around!
The smell of Sun tan oil aka...coconut and banana, reminds me of being at the beach and out in the boat. My mom always had banana boat or Hawaiian tropic suntan oil as kid. Just love the tropical scents. Always have and always will. Have always been a dog lover. But I love cats and hamsters and guinea pigs. Have had a few in my lifetime....lol.. Great garden, great video thanks for sharing.
🌻Your garden is divine and it's grown so much too!🌹🌻Exclamation perfume triggers childhood memories of my mom she always wore it when I was a child I thought it was to strong but now I kinda like it lol I also love Clinique happy it was my first high end perfume purchase it brings back memories of my teens and it also reminds me of the beach it makes me feel relaxed and happy😊✨
On your garden : the flowers and plants grow very fast. :D My favourite the flower in pink colour that taller the rest of the flowers. It look very beautiful. All the flowers and plants look great especially the sunflower.
Neo1030 We still have snow here in Montreal. So watching your video just warmed me up.Your garden is beautiful with the birds and butterflies.i guess my garden will start in late May.I'm dying to live in a tropical country. As for a nostalgic scent it would be Jergens the original formula that smells like cherries and almonds. It remind me of weekends I spent at my grandmother's house when I was young. My grandmother always had a bottle near her sink. The bottle design was a lot nicer than it is today.thx for your videos
I buy tons of stuff that have a tea tree scent, hand soap, shampoo, etc. And I use the oil a lot (on my self and my family). I love when I get a whiff of a Lilac tree. My mom had one outside her bedroom window, and in the spring she would open the windows and would would go lie on my back on her bedroom floor and just smell the fragrance of it when the wind would carry it in.
Your garden is so beautiful! Those colorful flowers just brighten my day! :) I have a dog named Puzzle. He's a Basset, and he's one of the most laziest but sweetest dogs on earth. He's pretty clumsy so he always makes people laugh. Oh, and I think you did a wonderful thing by keeping the two guinea pig friends together :)
your yard has gotten so pretty. love all the flowers, butterflies and the birds are wonderful. thank you for letting us know what happened with the guinea pigs, I wondered what had happened with them. sorry about the one who passed, glad your other one has found a great home with a new friend. thank you for sharing. : ) I have doggies. in the past think we have had them all. except hedgehogs, my daughter always wanted one but we never got it. we had chinchillas.
I can't believe how fast your garden has grown, and its nice to see all the variety you have planted there! Personally I love a garden but can't deal with the bugs, and all the weeding- the weeds drive me crazy! Still winter in Canada so it was nice to be taken to nature and sunshine. I got a cat a few months back. Never had one before, but I just love him.
A smell that triggers awesome memories: Coppertone Sunscreen. My Dad used to wear that on all of our river rafting trips and days at the lake when I was a kid!
I have a Bearded Dragon, Red-Eared Slider turtle, and 2 bunnies. As far as a scent, those old lip smackers chocolate scented chapsticks that you can never really tell if it smells good or bad always remind me of spending the summer at my older sister's house when I was younger.
The garden is really coming along. Glad to hear Mitzi is still around - wherever she is!! Petwise, we have two border collie/kelpie mix girls who are around 7. I would say I was a cat person but my husband doesn't like cats. I'd love to have a little lapdog but he's not going for that either - LOL! Looking forward to your next video on your makeup room and the re-diy of the vanity into nightstands.
Your flowers look great. A few years ago I tried growing flowers from seeds, some made it some didn't.Hopefully the weather will warm up here so that I can start gardening again. We have 5 cats (my babies) and 1 dog and 2 stray cats that my husband has taken to feeding. I'm not sure about smells but certain songs remind me of when I was younger and every so often I have to listen to those songs.
Christine your garden is so pretty..looks like the butterflies and birds love it..It seem like yesterday I was watching you plant it..We are having to ration our water..we always plant a garden but this year we might not because of the water situation..We are getting some good rains here in Ca..Enjoyed your video!! xoxo Loretta
I have 2 guinea pigs. My husband and I watched your guinea pig video probably 10 times before we got them we learned how to give them baths from you I love having the guinea pigs!
One of my favourite scents as a teenager was Hawaiian White Ginger. Don't know who made it but it was such a pretty scent. We have a 25 yo Himalayan named Bubbles. Smell of lilacs, fresh cut cucumbers, watermelon and fresh cut grass =summers as a child. Your garden looks like a Fairy Garden. It is beautiful :)
I have 4 mini schnauzers. All of them are 2 & under. They have brought me so much joy & love. Best dogs ever!

oh and my scent is honeysuckle, makes me remember being a child and taking the string out of the middle and drinking the liquid. yum
There's nothing sweeter than a well-loved and tended garden.
I could sit in your garden all day and stare at your lovely flowers. They are so beautiful Christine. I live your videos....can watch you all day! It's really difficult to have a garden patch when u live in a condo right in the middle of concrete jungle!

Lots of wildlife is a sign of a healthy successful garden! Love the sound of the birds in the background.
I love the smell of lavender! It brings me back to when spring would start at the house I grew up in and everything was just beginning to bloom
Thank you for a wonderful dose of sunshine, flowers, beach, Maui!!
OMG! They are all coming a long so fast! Love the simplistic life

💜it's crazy how you have a lot of flowers, plants and Stuff and you know the name of each and everyone. Awesome!!!
Fun to see Mike, and hear his comments in the videos. Great guy, your very fortunate.

Beautiful. I see some royal palm trees too. It's a nice contrast with the flowers. It reminds me of the Caribbean
Love the wild flowers, thank you for the video always enjoy the garden.

You'll have to give your dragon fruit plant a sturdy stake soon. Most dragon fruit orchards I've seen - the plants are trained along a stake up to about 4 foot and then allowed to branch out like a standard and that seems to give the most fruit.
i needed this vaction for my brain today. Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful day with us.
I'm always excited to see your videos in my subscription box. The garden is beautiful!!!
Excited to see an update on your garden! Was wondering how it was going - amazing! Looks so beautiful! Thanks for sharing :D
Coppertone lotions remind me of how the beaches smelled when I was a kid - happy memories!
Hi Guys....Glad you're well and happy! Garden looks great! Take care and blessings.
Your Garden is MAGICAL!!!!!! OMG! I LOVE!
Peggy),Sadly, I lost my 2 girls and still have not gotten over their passing, I have been blessed in my life to of had some amazing furbabies . big hugs to you both
Love the garden guys, looking really pretty and productive. Grown so fast too.
Thank you for this....literally we had an ice storm followed by a 20 cm dump of snow...i'm so over it and ready to move to Hawaii lol..... your vlogs definitely help! Can't wait to start my garden!

Steph xo
Absolutely amazing I love your garden! You are such an amazing person with best heart! You are amazing! Such a sweet genuine person you are! Love your videos!!!
this video of your garden was so beautiful, I felt so peaceful the sun must have felt so nice
I had 2 squirrels, they were so sweet. Dogs, cats and many birds, but that squirrels were very special.
Your garden is beautiful. It seems like it blossomed so fast!
Yes. The smell of fresh cut wood brings me back sweet memories of my father.
Its crazy how fast everything grew. I remember a few weeks ago when you were only planting everything!
Oh my gosh! Such a difference from the last time I watched!! Looks beautiful :)
I agree w the movies! Always felt that way..for the price you pay to go see it..its better to wait and watch at home..comfy cozy! Love your garden! Its nice to see, here in PA. Weve had a loong winter!
Elizabeth Arden Red Door perfume triggers childhood memories. My mum wore this perfume all the time back in the day
Just wanted to tell you how much I love tthe scenic videos...I think Hawaii is so beautiful and has been my dream to visit there, but haven't had the chance. I live in Ohio which is ugly and I love tropical places and the ocean is my true love. Your garden is looking great and I love the banana tree!! Thanks for showing all of us viewers around!
I love the smell of the old school strawberry shortcake lip gloss. Something about that scent makes me think happy thoughts!
Neo1030
We still have snow here in Montreal.
My mom had one outside her bedroom window, and in the spring she would open the windows and would would go lie on my back on her bedroom floor and just smell the fragrance of it when the wind would carry it in.
wow. The before and after is amazing!!! I love it so much! THanks for the inspiration.
your work has payed off guys! you have such a wonderful garden !
Almost forgot, I love your flower garden it's so beautiful.
I'm not sure about smells but certain songs remind me of when I was younger and every so often I have to listen to those songs.
love the look of the garden. colourful and free! :)

Oh my gosh, your garden is my dream! I've never been able to plant one but I want to.
I have 2 guinea pigs. My husband and I watched your guinea pig video probably 10 times before we got them we learned how to give them baths from you I love having the guinea pigs!
