  • In this video, we're going to be talking about the origins of Santa Claus, often depicted as a jolly old man in red, and how the values of love and kindness have remained at the heart of this beloved holiday figure.
The story of Santa Claus can be traced back to the historical figure of Saint Nicholas, a bishop from Myra. At the time the area was Greek and it's now on the southern coast of Turkey.
Saint Nicholas was known for his love of children. He was said to have given gifts to the poor, and was known for his acts of kindness and charity. His legend led to the custom of children hanging stockings or putting out shoes, eagerly awaiting gifts from Saint Nicholas.
Over time, the legend of Saint Nicholas evolved, and he became known as Santa Claus in many parts of the world.
Despite the various changes to the legend over time, the core values of kindness and love remain central to the story of Santa Claus.
In the traditional legend of Santa Claus, he is said to live at the North Pole with a team of elves who help him make toys for all the good boys and girls. He is also said to have a team of reindeer who help him deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve.
As we celebrate the holiday season, let's remember the values of love and kindness that have been at the heart of the Santa Claus legend for so long. Whether we're giving gifts to our loved ones, or simply showing kindness to those around us, these values are what make the holiday season truly special.
