      Very nice… I have the same problem. The job is not done yet. Lock Smith said they can come and finish it for me. The only so far that I got done was taking the under cover off. But if they don’t show up I’ll do it myself. One question for you sir… once I taken that out can I leave it blank without replacing it and still drive the same but my steering wheel just won’t lock right? Can I drive without the ESL that’s my question?

      @@DragonTailDiabloBlkDT-ACE nope, unfortunately you can't drive without it. System requires communication with ESL or emulator. That's why you need to code emulator to the car. Sorry

      Once you have it out do you have to replace it or can you just have the car without a steering lock .

      You need the emulator if you take it out (you loose the steeing lock security) or you can replace the lock motor and put it back.

    Great video. Question....my steering wheel is unlocked. I have the emulator and it is programmed to the ignition. Can I just unplug the ESL and plug it into the emulator and be done?

    • @mattgreba
      @mattgreba Месяц назад +1

      @peytonbuzz in theory yes. You need to make sure your key is in the ignition when you disconnect esl and connect emulator. If you want to play it very safe you could disconnect the battery when you put the key in ignition and then swap, connect the battery with ignition key in. Good luck.

    how in the world did you reach the upper bolts. they are super hard to get to and i have no idea what to use.. the one side is super hard to get to.. can't fit even a small elbow in there.????

      @mattgreba Месяц назад

      @johnnyquestfishing do you mean the two closer to steering wheel? Try to unlock the steering wheel and move it a bit to create more space for access. Then the rachet with 10cm extension will do but for one I had to take the extension off as there was no room. I agree it's an awkward position but doable. Good luck!

      What helps as well is to move out of the way the vent. I didn't manage to take it out fully but you can unclip it and move a bit to gain access!

    £260 cost me 2 years ago, just to take is out and code the car without it. 30 min work any guys who code keys . In 2024 is more expensive i heard is about £400
