I just did this repair, where I repaired the PCB instead of replacing it. My problem was the relay which is the big black rectangular piece in the middle of the PCB. It was a bit difficult to replace because many of the components are glued to the PCB, including the relay. It is also soldered, of course. There is also a layer of PCB protection lacquer, so remember to add a protection layer again after replacing. I choose to cut the relay to pieces in order to remove it. Not a standard soldering job, but can be done with enough determination. Much easier to buy a replacement board, but a bit expensive and a third of the price of a new machine. The relay was a G2RL-2 24DC. While you are in there, consider also replacing the electrolytic capacitors. One of them is a 100uF/50V P3.5 8x11 105C. I could not see the specs for the other one, because it was glued. Do all this at own risk and consider buying the replacement PCB for security and to save the time.
Hello Roger, thank you for this video! I have got last week the same problem with my 6 year old BOSCH AXT 25 TC shredder. With the help of your video I built off the motor controller as shown. It also had marks of overheating at the same position. I replaced the part today and the shredder works o.k. so far. But I'm not sure how long? Do you have meanwhile further experiences with your shredder? How long is it running now since fixing?
Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, I still really like this shredder - it's wonderful for munching up prunings from roses, shrubs and my cupressus hedges, to turn them into mulch or compost. It doesn't like soggy green plants - they just clog it up, but usually they can go straight into the compost
Hi Roger am thinking of buying the axt25 turbine shredder was wondering if cutter head replacement ie turbine head is an option for a diy guy like me saw part for £120 as you cannot sharpen blades? Still to buy just. Thinking ahead. Appreciate any help you can give
I believe that adjusting the black knob on the side (which brings the blades closer (or further away) from the cutting bar), automatically sharpens the blades. What I don't know is how often one can do this before you reach the end of the adjustment, or whether replacing the blades (and cutting bar) is a DIY job!
Danke vielmals! Sehr aufschlussreiches Video. Greetings from Germany.
Very helpful information together with the necessary video And instructions 👍😊

merci beaucoup, excellente vidéo!! thank you very much for this excellent video!
Vielen Dank für Interesse Video.Danke! ❤❤❤👍
It would have been good to have a look at the burnt PCB to see exactly which parts could be replaced for a real repair.

Good work!
Brilliant!
Thanks for this instructive video. I can't seem to find where to buy the controller. Where did you order yours?

Hi Roger are you still using this shredder? Would you recommend?

This seems to be a common fault with these machines.
