Ahoy my friends! Today I will reviewing and going over all the costumes that will be available for free in the Anniversary Gear Giveaway! I will be going through this in sections, basically my top choices, followed by my most aesthetically pleasing choices, followed by Arcanum choices. great video, i would agree with all your recommendations. the one point i would add that wasn’t mentioned, is for players who have saved up a ton of gems for anniversary and are going to be pulling a lot, then almost any arcanum costume can be an option, even if the matching weapon is low OB right now, because of wishlisting.
I'm looking at either Aeriths Snow or Fire outfit, more than likely the Fire outift. I would definitely recommend Electro Armor! I am SO glad I grabbed that makes him an amazing tank! IF Matts Aidmans outfit is included I will 100% pull for that. I kick myself in the ass every time I build Matt and I don't have that out fit 😅
Great costume review, but I'm going for Glen Halloween costume just because it's the best male costume for the single reason that it has a helmet, it shows full commitment to costume 🎉🎉
It's hard for me to choose, but at the same time, not if that makes sense. Cloud's Murasame Battle Garb to this day I have been kicking myself for missing it by 1 stamp due to working my full time job and my phones battery giving out, been waiting forever for it to get a rerun. Barret's Electroarmour is undoubtedly great with its R. Abilities, but I've only used him in very niche situations since launch. Yuffie's Sparkling Skater is tempting as I still don't have a wind arcanum but only have Diner Tray at OB4. Sephiroth, as you said, only has wind mastery, which is a bummer cause I have Dark Heavens at OB10 as well as Shinra Military Blade at OB6. Tifa's Fairy of the Holy Flame I really want and sad I missed due to zeroing out of crystals due to FF9 crossover, ascetically is my favorite outfit and my Holy Flame Gloves are at OB8 but I'm gonna have faith the Christmas outfits will have a rerun in December just as the summer outfits did recently. Leaving only her Bunny Bustier, which I wouldn't mind as I had horrible luck pulling multiple copies outside the guaranteed for Glenn's Stream Slasher, which is sitting at OB3. The rest, I just don't have the weapons past OB5 to make them viable. Maybe with the 26 free 5* weapons and the weapon vouchers from the new tower event, it could sway other outfits in their favor, but only time will tell.
I never had any problem in barret sustain even without that costume he can tank so much with just the free costume. I would rather go for something offensive
I'm going for Electoarmor, but I think there's a stronger case to be made for Canyon Duds than you gave it credit for. Red isn't always buffing, but he's always debuffing. Red's only buffing weapon in the game is his MDEF-up weapon. Practically every time I bring him to battle, his primary role is to debuff or imperil the enemy, and since I only have his default outfit, it would be really nice to have his Canyon Duds. Not as good as Electroarmor, but Canyon Duds was definitely my number two option.
Fair enough, and points well made. My only reservation is that I think its only a matter of time until Red gets a new buff, meaning once that happens it's going to fall off a lot. Definitely good with current content, but i think in viability over the next year, it really just depends on where they take Red.
I was thinking about Cloud's Maritime Sailor because I'm stuck on Ramuh EX, but a mastery doesn't look worthy, and I'm pretty sure there will be something later on that helps make this and other fights easier (historically it has). So, since I have Murasame OB10, I think I'll go with the nostalgia and go for Murasame Garb, it always kinda hurt me because I was just 1 stamp away from getting it
you might have forgotten Zack's glacier armor. I believe it is the only costume in the entire game wich comes not only with a arcanum but also provides a buff and debuff extension... this costume is imo one of the strongest costumes you could pick besides electroarmor. The reason people overlook it, is because this costume came out at a poor time and lucia already provided with a ice imperil. But if we look at it from a power perspective, we can see this costume is insane. Zack has the only water imperil, the strongest ice imperil, the strongest self atk up weapon in the game, but no one could afford this costume. PS: ok you havent forgotten about it, but it is still way more powerful than anything else we can pick. and yes it looks like shit. In terms of aesthetics, i agree Aerith is a top contender, but i dont think feather style (tifa) or Fairy of the holy flame (tifa) are easy to beat. I personally thought i will finally get a wind arcanum for yuffie, but then i realized the Glacier Armor is in the time period and most likely one of the best Zack costumes we will get our hands on for a long time. ( i believe he is not part of the anniversary)
I didn't forget but I DID forget that it had buff/debuff duration on it which is pretty great! Definitely puts it up there with Barret's I think, depending on which chars you play! Thank you for writing this
I guess you don't have Zack's Zinogre costume ? Then in deed the choice will be hard ... Imo, I'd go for Barret's costume ; it's versatile and it'll be useful for the B100 tower battle if you don't have Lucia's poison costume. If you have Zidane/MH costume for Cloud, I think you can bypass the Lightning costume. However, it is so stylish that it's understandable if you take it instead. Plus, it's the only Phys. Light costume aside Zinogre.
@@alixvapp I have his costume only because I went for Glavenus and Cloude MH one but weapon is not that high ob and I don't plan building that. I use Barret only when I really need him but still beat everything without his costume. I probably go with my heart and pick lightining costume. With my OB10 Murasame will finally be a whole.
I’m pretty solidly between… Tifa Bunny, or Zack’s ice arcanum. I feel like Tifa bunny could be more beefy, what with feather gloves and bunny gloves in tandem. That said, I don’t have either of those weapons beyond base 5 star. And I have Zack’s ice-weapon at OB7.
Wow @ the Red diss. Canyon Duds is Red's best drip too!! It looks so good. He's meta for like every hard battle and that's an ideal costume for helping debuff the boss.
Yeah I agree, but the moment Red gets another buffing gear he will be both again. I’m making this choice based on where I think characters will go more so based on what is out. Haha it does look good tho I’ll give ya that
Cait Siths Party Outfit only boost crit damage. I definitely won't be taking that. If they gave him a water Arcanum outfit he would pair really well with Tifa. I used him as a main DPS for one of the VH dungeons for water damage and he actually did decent damage. I do have his Bloomin Spray at OB6(or maybe 7?).
I'd be willing to trade multiple of the other costumes vouchers for just 1 more choice lol. If you could trade 3 - 5 of the other vouchers for 1 of the released costumes it'd give them more value to sell in bundles.
I’ll probably choose either water Tifa or earth Lucia because they are my weakest elements. I’ll probably hold my voucher for a while to see if maybe Tifa or Cloud gets an earth arcanum soon
I'm really undecided, I'll explain, I don't know whether to take Sephiroth's mastery or Cait Sith's costume, because the Yellow megaphone is ob10, while Sephiroth's wind weapon is ob5, and the Shinra military sword is base 5 star,Let's start from the assumption that I have maxed Yuffie, but in any case Sephi does much more damage, the dilemma is that while pulling for Cloud I found Sephi's Ultima weapon, and the buff it gives is truly enormous.I tried his wind setup without a suit, and it really does a good job, the problem is that I'm afraid that the weather will bring pb10 at least his wind weapon,will be outclassed by another physical wind,because for now it's still the strongest physical wind DPS, so I really don't know what to do, Cait sith is really fun,I made 2 runs on bahamut and in the first one it crit all the hits, in the second one not even one,And sephi instead I'm really disappointed that I couldn't pull his last mastery wind, so I'm really undecided😭😬You're right when you say that masteries don't last long, but that's actually the strongest DPS wind there is.
Someone edited the wiki to remove the (PDEF & MDEF + 20% / PATK & MATK + 10%) leaving only the Indomitable Soul, as if that explain anything. Making it less useful. Not the first time they remove helpful information. And I just check on the exchange in game. And yup, that still what the Indomitable Soul does. No need to have removed it.
I already have some costume or another for each element type, so only 2 I’m really considering are Electro Barrett and Canyon Red. I definitely use Red more often as my imperiler, but 1) Barrett does come up for use in harder content, 2) I only have his voucher costume vs Red who I got Hellhound for, and 3) having a potential dedicated tank could be quite helpful
I would wait for Red to get an actual buff/debuff duration costume instead of just a debuff one tbh. It's like pulling for a mastery imo, good but not as good as the others you can get

One thing I'm going to do is wait until all of the special anniversary costumes are out and then decide. But I did enjoy your approach to this. And it does help to go back and look at the weapons that we already have to be an important deciding factor. Tifa's feather dress or whatever it's called, I'd get that on aesthetics alone. It sucks that it's not an arcanum or have that useful of abilities. And power creep is another thing to consider, as well - which also sucks for these older costumes.
Man watching this video makes me realize how many freakin outifts we have gotten! I might want to take Zacks Shinra outfit. Ugggh its such a tough decision!
Barret's Scrap Armor will always be one of my favorites looks wise, but his Electroarmor is too good to pass up. I am extremely bummed out Matt's Doctor outfit isn't here though, or I would've picked it over Barrett. Btw, been away from the game for a few months cause been busy with real life stuffs, so guilds are completely new to me lol. Got a lot to ketchup on.

On my side : 1) Cloud's Lightning costume (So stylish, but I do have Zack's Zinogre's costume, and Zack's weapon outdamages Murasame by far) 2) Tifa's Christmas costume (Cute but I do have other characters that covers Ice Phys) 3) Zack's Ice costume (Weird one but I have Pressure Ridge OB10) 4) Lucia's Bunny Costume (cute ++ but Lucia's rarely DPS) So I'd say I don't have a gamebreaking choice... :/
Thanks for this Ryder I feel so validated haha… if Matt costume is there that’s an easy #1 for me… even though I don’t use Barrett much I also believe I should go for his costume coz of its overall value. I know the cait costume is a gamble but I saw one of our members use it and melt the black waltz stage like it was nothing so that one is underrated but meme af and overpowered if it procs…
Unfortunately the Cait costume is not crit chance % but crit potency, so i think it's an easy skip imo. Matt's is amazing i wish it was here, but yeah Barret's is just ALL AROUND GREAT imo. Will be viable for a long time to come
I’ve been screaming his for a week now. If you don’t have Barrett’s electro armor….that’s your pick, period. It’s the best costume in the game on a character who literally only had ONE banner costume outside of his day 1 costume. Also, to power creep this outfit they have to release the most broken thing ever.
I mean, Red's a debuffer. How many buffs does he have? sleek collar, 1 or 2 sources of regen and his lvl 2 limit I think. Until he gets more buffing options, canyon duds are great.
Yeah they are for now but I made this based on the fact that I think Red will get more buffs sooner rather than later, but yeah for all current content it is great for him 🙏🏽
I don't know why, but i have a feeling that the next Guild Battle will require water attacks, so I'm gonna Tifa's water outfit as i didn't get the maritime outfit
@@BodhiJMSRyder I'm leaning heavily toward barrett electro at this point. Red was a contender if he had buff extension in addition to debuff. His aoe heal regen slaps if leveled and appropriate subs. It's insane.
I would say that Winter Moogle for Yuffie is not worth it anymore. Go for either of the Arcanum outfits. It only adds to Buff/debuff ext which we have quite a few weapons in the game now that have that R.ability so it would be fairly worthless to take that outfit.
Since I have most of these for me it's between Red's buff extension or Barret's electro armor, but most likely I'll get Red's since I use him a lot more than Barret usually but it's hard choice. Would like Cait's a lot too since I have yellow megaphone ob9. Whaddya think?😅
I’ve got barrets armor. Right now sephiroths Halloween fit might be best for my kit. I’ve got on 10 dark heavens and 7 on his soldier sword. If not…..! Bunny tiddy tifa 😝
Super solid sword to go along with it, i just really think Mastery's are on their way out the door tbh. I think Sephiroth will for sure get a Wind Arcanum in the future.
Is the Red13 debuff costume worth it? I don't have any costume for him and he's been a part of being able to pass all of the hardest content for me (Ramuh EX2/LeviathanEX2/B100)
i’ve got tifa’s feathered gloves and bunny gloves at ob3 each level 80, and cloud’s murasame at ob1 lvl 80. Then I’ve got zack’s zinogre costume and zinogre sword ob2. Should I go for cloud’s murasame battle garb since murasame is not limited unlike zack’s zinogre sword or should i go with tifa’s bunny water arcanum since ive got feathered gloves and bunny gloves already
If u dont have earth arcanum, would it be smart to get Lucias earth costume to get that covered? Coz I have ob5 holiday and would eventually get to ob10 and would get that covered. Is it worth it? i have electro armor alrrady…
I don't think so because it's damage has been way power crept by Vincent's and Yuffie's earth weapons. Lucia is almost exclusively a debuffer anyway and her weapon pool has the least utility and variety of all the characters imo.
red canyon duds is better than the barret costume. the mastery there is the only one in game and you are using it there for the imperil. i've never used barret and his dmg sucks, so the boosts there are meh. F take.
Nah I totally disagree. But to each their own. The mastery is the only one in the game except the other buff/debuff + costumes which not only have that mastery but buff duration on top
@@Oceanwalker77 the only hole I have that can be filled is magic water, but have only a single copy of bunny gloves and earth lucia that is ob5. I am already too strong on ice built so dont want ice tifa despite having ob10 gloves. Tough decision…
He didn't mention it because we can't choose Yuffie's earth arcanum, the same applies for Seph's, etc. We can only choose from costumes released up to April 29th unfortunately, but hey we're getting a gacha costume for free!👍

On my side :
1) Cloud's Lightning costume (So stylish, but I do have Zack's Zinogre's costume, and Zack's weapon outdamages Murasame by far)
2) Tifa's Christmas costume (Cute but I do have other characters that covers Ice Phys)
3) Zack's Ice costume (Weird one but I have Pressure Ridge OB10)
4) Lucia's Bunny Costume (cute ++ but Lucia's rarely DPS)
So I'd say I don't have a gamebreaking choice... :/

Thanks for this Ryder I feel so validated haha… if Matt costume is there that’s an easy #1 for me… even though I don’t use Barrett much I also believe I should go for his costume coz of its overall value. I know the cait costume is a gamble but I saw one of our members use it and melt the black waltz stage like it was nothing so that one is underrated but meme af and overpowered if it procs…
Unfortunately the Cait costume is not crit chance % but crit potency, so i think it's an easy skip imo. Matt's is amazing i wish it was here, but yeah Barret's is just ALL AROUND GREAT imo. Will be viable for a long time to come

I’ve been screaming his for a week now. If you don’t have Barrett’s electro armor….that’s your pick, period. It’s the best costume in the game on a character who literally only had ONE banner costume outside of his day 1 costume. Also, to power creep this outfit they have to release the most broken thing ever.

I mean, Red's a debuffer. How many buffs does he have? sleek collar, 1 or 2 sources of regen and his lvl 2 limit I think. Until he gets more buffing options, canyon duds are great.
Yeah they are for now but I made this based on the fact that I think Red will get more buffs sooner rather than later, but yeah for all current content it is great for him 🙏🏽

I have caits crit arcanum one. It's a 50% boost to crit dmg not crit chance hope that helps.
Oh forgot to mention as well I too have aerith winter costume. It is a mastery rather than arcanum.

@@BodhiJMSRyder I'm leaning heavily toward barrett electro at this point. Red was a contender if he had buff extension in addition to debuff. His aoe heal regen slaps if leveled and appropriate subs. It's insane.

I would say that Winter Moogle for Yuffie is not worth it anymore. Go for either of the Arcanum outfits. It only adds to Buff/debuff ext which we have quite a few weapons in the game now that have that R.ability so it would be fairly worthless to take that outfit.

Since I have most of these for me it's between Red's buff extension or Barret's electro armor, but most likely I'll get Red's since I use him a lot more than Barret usually but it's hard choice. Would like Cait's a lot too since I have yellow megaphone ob9. Whaddya think?😅
Red doesn’t have a buff extension only a debuff extension. It’s not worth it imo. Barret is superior with the gear

Super solid sword to go along with it, i just really think Mastery's are on their way out the door tbh. I think Sephiroth will for sure get a Wind Arcanum in the future.

Is the Red13 debuff costume worth it? I don't have any costume for him and he's been a part of being able to pass all of the hardest content for me (Ramuh EX2/LeviathanEX2/B100)
Other ones I'm leaning are Tifa water and Aerith Fire but I don't have the corresponding weapons built up
Im going to use on barret starter banner day 1 launch. It hurts to see him way behind with red xiii and lucia who i never pulled any set in banners.

i’ve got tifa’s feathered gloves and bunny gloves at ob3 each level 80, and cloud’s murasame at ob1 lvl 80. Then I’ve got zack’s zinogre costume and zinogre sword ob2. Should I go for cloud’s murasame battle garb since murasame is not limited unlike zack’s zinogre sword or should i go with tifa’s bunny water arcanum since ive got feathered gloves and bunny gloves already

If u dont have earth arcanum, would it be smart to get Lucias earth costume to get that covered? Coz I have ob5 holiday and would eventually get to ob10 and would get that covered. Is it worth it? i have electro armor alrrady…
I don't think so because it's damage has been way power crept by Vincent's and Yuffie's earth weapons. Lucia is almost exclusively a debuffer anyway and her weapon pool has the least utility and variety of all the characters imo.

red canyon duds is better than the barret costume. the mastery there is the only one in game and you are using it there for the imperil. i've never used barret and his dmg sucks, so the boosts there are meh. F take.
Well Barret is much more of a buffer/debuffer anyway, but it depends on your weapons/ob levels and what will help your account the most.
Nah I totally disagree. But to each their own. The mastery is the only one in the game except the other buff/debuff + costumes which not only have that mastery but buff duration on top

I would add that if there’s an elemental hole in your account, that all the weapons are WLable and can be built.
@@Oceanwalker77 the only hole I have that can be filled is magic water, but have only a single copy of bunny gloves and earth lucia that is ob5. I am already too strong on ice built so dont want ice tifa despite having ob10 gloves. Tough decision…

He didn't mention it because we can't choose Yuffie's earth arcanum, the same applies for Seph's, etc. We can only choose from costumes released up to April 29th unfortunately, but hey we're getting a gacha costume for free!👍
You mean Yuffie's Earth Arcanum? It's not included in this set. It was the first banner after the ones available with Matt's healing costume
