In this DIY tutorial, I will share with you how to make a paper pendant lamp that is very suitable for a lighting decoration. This light is inspired by my previous work - the cathedral lamp - • DIY paper lamp/lantern... . Both lamps are constructed using regular A4 card/sketch pad. Unlike the Cathedral lamp, the elongated tubes of this lamp cast light that resembles candle flames. Because the connection between units is not as strong as the Cathedral lamp, there is a need to use superglue to tighten up the interlocking areas and fix unit contacts.
The unique oblong shape makes it suitable for decor in different living spaces. The lamp is about 30 cm long and 17 cm wide.
For your safety, please use the low energy or LED globe for this project. In this video, I used a 5W LED light bulb.

Why use plastic? Defeats the object surely..
I tried making this with u.s. sized paper but the measurements created something too weird.
Hi Frank... essentially these measurements are used for A4 in the portrait format. You will probably need a new set of measurements if you are using a different size of paper.

All the circles are same in size, diameter is 8.5cm, the smaller circle inside has diameter 6cm

hi Jack.. it is better to use paper that is above 150 gsm in weight/thickness. The normal paper does not support the lamp very well.

how to hang this i don't understand method because u didn't give measurement
Hi can we cut this diamond on a chart paper or bigger size paper ? What should be the dimensions? I don't wanna use A4, but have a bigger paper to cut many pieces. Whats the dimensions to achieve this.?
First work out how much bigger your paper is in relation to A4. Try and make the ratio the same, length and width-wise. Apply this ratio in all your cuttings as shown in the video. You should be able to get the exact same lamp with a bigger size.
