Doxie One Mobile Scanner

They do make a Doxie which powers off the USB, too. They make at least 3 models, with different features, so you probably can find the one that suits you best.

What size are the batteries AAA? Does it only scan I side at a time?

I agree with the presenter. This model is rubbish. Can't scan books,not wireless, it doesn't power off USB.....
