One of my favorite songs and bands. Seether is very underrated. There are several wonderful songs such as "Rise Above This", "Driven Under", "Fine Again", "Save Today", "Fake It", "Remedy" and many others. Shaun has a very distinctive voice that, together with the band's heavy riffs, make Seether one of the most consistent groups in rock/metal. Their sound is addictive.
They were in a relationship at the time of this song, but after they broke up due to Shaun's drinking problem, Amy wrote the song "Call Me When You're Sober"
Fun fact I got to interview both Seether and Amy Lee when they came to my town around 2008-2009. And they are both the most humble coolest people I have ever got to interview and talk to. To this day I still have the backstage pass that she gave me.
Love Seether, you should definitely check out some of their other songs, such as Fake It, Remedy, Country Song, Save Today, Betray and Degrade, Wasteland, and so much more to go off of that are all so freaking good!
I remember seeing Seether supporting Evanescence back in 2003, Amy walked on stage and sat in front of Shaun a couple of songs before Broken, sitting cross legged at his feet, Cool as F. The version without Amy hits hard as well
Maybe I misunderstand your comment, but Lizzy Hales first songs are from 2009. Amy Lee has been a front woman since 2000, she's been both singing and popular for far longer.
@@fateunleashed9680 Amy has been front woman of Evanescence longer yes but she and Lizzy have been friends a long time and have performed break in at concerts etc for a long time before the studio version
I've loved this song from the time it released. Always assumed it was about a lost love/partner. Having just learned this was written by Seether's lead when he had to leave his 2 year old daughter makes this song hit so much harder now. Being divorced and away from my daughter just half the time can feel terrible, ripping my heart out at times. I can't imagine moving out of the country and leaving her behind.
Idea for your next video: check out Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin with Lacey Sturm (ex Flyleaf). As far as duets and harmonies go, this is a definite go-to. Love your channel, love your reactions, and of course, the main attraction, YOU!
I was lucky enough to meet Amy Lee back in 2011 when she was touring in Chicago. One of the kindest people on the planet. And, 1000x more beautiful than any of the music videos can portray. Absolutely LOVE that woman.
I remember that Violin intrinsically. My older sister shaped my music tastes and introduced me to a good majority of the music I still love today. First album I "borrowed" from her was Hybrid Theory.
I think it's the landscape of a broken relationship, the wreckage like a tornado that has just passed, the billowing black smoke. And the presentation of Amy as an angel with black wings and the shot where the camera is peering through a barrel on it's side as to puts the magnifying glass (focus) on Amy. Her carrying the dirty doll around maybe represents her dream to start a family? The symbolism is very open to interpretation but the song is incredible.
Listening to this in 2024 is an absolute trip. First time I heard this was off of the back of the Fallen album 3 years prior. Amy Lee is the 00's Goddess of Metal.
I just listened to this song a few days ago ❤❤❤ such a classic awesome song 🤘👌 I'm glad you reviewed it and loved it too . Two great people from two great bands
I absolutely love Seether such a good band someone else has already made a list of all the songs I was gonna suggest from them so I got a couple other bands for you to check out instead have you ever heard of the band FlyLeaf? Also I will suggest this on every reaction channel but Shinedown!!!!! Such an amazing band
When you understand how the relationship went and how many of both Seether and Evanescence’s songs track that relationship, it gives a heartbreaking throughline to their albums during that time period.
Hey! Huge fan of this reaction! Fun fact.. my dad, John Humphrey, is the drummer for the band Seether! You should do a reaction to Fake It or Rise Above This.. you’d enjoy the vocals, the lyrics and melodies in both songs.. hope you’re able to see this! Love your content!
If all the info I know is true, this song is actually about touring and Shaun ((thr singer) leaving his daughter to go on tour, could be subtext of Amy and Shaun having a relationship but I don't know that far ahead
Seether is really underrated band. Shaun has such a good voice, I would say he's Kurt Cobain of 2000s, in some Nirvana covers he sounds very similar to Kurt
I met Amy Lee at a meet and greet before a show. She was nice but very unassuming, shorter than I would have thought. But if I didn’t know I wouldn’t have thought she was a rock star. Then seeing her on stage kicking ass like a couple of hours later it was crazy. Almost didn’t seem like the same person.
I hope you do more reactions to SEETHER🤘🏻 I know some are going to tell you to listen to Evanescence(good music) but SEETHER is, in my opinion, better😮
Great reaction like always. But have you listened to “Lockdown” by Amy and Dave Eggar? If not then PLEASE react to it!!! It’s mind melting and it peels my skin from my bones (shout out to you if you get the reference). Her voice is all I am going to say.
Amy Lee and the lead singer from Seether had a relationship at one point. But had a falling out due to his alcohol use use at the time. I believe he has since gotten clean but they're still seems to be a bitterness between them.
This is true they wrote songs about singer of seether wrote breakdown meant for amy Lee and Amy Lee wrote call me when your sober meant for the singer of seether
Gotta love how Amy has embraced the angel wings in this and a few other videos, as everyone calls her voice, (the voice of an angel). Have you gone down the Aerosmith rabbit hole yet? If not, try "dont want to miss a thing" and "hole in my soul", my favourites. Do the live versions of "hole in my soul" as the music videos can be quite distracting and has nothing to do with the words.
I'm not sure if you reacted to "take hold of the flame" live in Tokyo by Queensryche yet. Geoff Tate had one of the most powerful voices in the 80's and 90's. He also had a crazy 4 octave range. I would like to see your take on it.
Amy is one of my favorite singers and this is my favorite Amy Lee song...and it's not Evanescense! I was also influenced when I was young by my older sister and I'm a guy. Older sisters are cool to have!
Seether lead singer was married and seperated from his wife at the time of this video . Amy was apparently dating and sleeping with a married man. Lead singer of Seether then fell into drugs and drinking which led Amy to write call me when you are sober after a bad break up.
@@thebk247I was confused when you mentioned resident evil because I never noticed the umbrella. I think it's just a coincidence that the umbrella is red and white. It does look like after a zombie outbreak. Or my backyard.
I'd like to see you react to Staind's Right here. It's a pretty underrated song. Don't know if you're a fan of Staind or the lead singer Aaron Lewis. But hopefully it's your next video.
They were in a relationship when this happened. Amy lee broke up with Shaun Morgan because Shaun had a drinking problem. He's sober now.
I suggest you watch his music video about her😮Because he's implying that she Was a Manipulative bitch😮 Song is called "Breakdown"
With Amy writing the song "Call Me When Your Sober" as a result.
@@ssvr3dl1n38 yep. Exactly.
@ssvr3dl1n38 And he wrote the song "Breakdown" to show how manipulative she is😬

Yes, my friend!! Great band.
Also let's not forget "Diseased", "Tied my hands" and "Gasoline" either.
Rise above this is one of my favorite songs of all time!
"Tonight" is a banger too!
The guy has a great set of pipes but, he did basically admit to plagiarising an entire brand new album 😂
They were in a relationship at the time of this song, but after they broke up due to Shaun's drinking problem, Amy wrote the song "Call Me When You're Sober"

Amy Lee also did a great duet with Korn on their song "Freak on a Leash". It's awesome!
I considered freak on a leash unplugged is one her most beautiful performances sonicly her part of the diet it a moment in music history

Whenever I hear Amy’s voice, I always get shivers. I saw them both in Ottawa, when they toured together. Awesome show!
8:00 - what Ray describes is the simple difference between hearing a song and actually listening.
Ray, you have a beautiful singing voice!! I heard a little sing along there and I think we'd all like to hear more😊
100% agree with you.

Fun Fact This Song is about him being away from his Daughter, a parental love, not a song about two lovers

I've been listening to them since high school and had no clue Shaun Morgan was South African and that they were a South African based Rock Band 😮😮😮😮😮

Haunting is how I describe Amy Lee's voice.
The Punisher (2004) soundtrack CD introduced me to this, i love this song
You can count on your fingers the ammount of songs that have such an atmosphere like this one.
The early 2000’s were such an era…

Amy's voice is so haunting, its lifting you up and then crashes hard down in a unison with Shaun's grunge vocals.

would love to see Remedy by seether if you want to listen to more of them! (if you've not heard it before)
Amy Lee created a song about Shaun's addiction to alcohol and is called Call me when you're sober
And, even though he said in an interview that he would never do that to her, he ended up by writing "Breakdown" about her.
I could listen to her all day every day. She’s a light /medium brown I think. I dye my hair darker too but it’s not hard to dye the eyebrows
