  • Tuesday November 21 2017 at 13.23. The 13.06 Marlow to Maidenhead (13.29) train which shuttles backwards and forwards along this 7.25 mile single track branch line every hour. In peak times a 2nd train shuttles between the last 2 stations on the line allowing the other one to provide a half hourly service. This Berkshire crossing west of London was filmed in 2011 when the barriers raised when the train was still on the crossing. Since then the lights have all been slid away from the road on the same posts and cameras were added in 2015. The station here opened in 1937 and the barriers were lowered by the train driver in the station. When the crossing was gated it was probably much narrower so the lengthening of the railway cottage on the left wasn't a problem back then.
