Hikaru No Go (anime) debuts - 2001 This video - 2012 (11 years later) Me watching this video - 2023 (11 years after that) Just a weird bit of synergy. Really enjoying these videos and I'm glad HnG finally came up. That's what made me interested in the game in the first place. Sai is still influencing people to love the game he loves so much. And thanks to Nick for being a mentor to those of us who don't have a ghostly mentor of our own =)
3:29 Leela really likes the knight's approach to the black 3-4 stone on the lower right. 7:20 Leela likes the knight's approach to the 4-4 stone, or the point below and right of the lower-side star point. 10:44 Leela likes to do a knight's approach to the white stone on the 3-4 point in the upper left, preventing white from making a corner enclosure. The Shusaku diagonal in the upper right was also among the top 3 recommended moves.
yeah.Hikaru no GO^^also my reason to start with this game. Ok...Good Overview over this Openings. Do you play on some server and when yes whats your nickname there?
If anyone didnt know this but in the shusaku fuseki period when he was still alive...if a player was to take the other corner with 3-4 in stead of approaching the top right then shusaku would automatically enclose the top right where white whouldve played,,,like this 9:51 shusaku would enclose the top right like that if a player from his period were to go 3-4 on bottom left side of board
Nick you might want to take a note on one thing -> splitting in orthodox is actually outdated and not seen in pro games anymore, but on amateur level playable for sure. Approaching the corner from the inside is most popular in pro games nowadays. Btw i really enjoy your lectures, could you make some pro game reviews? Or high amateur dan game reviews? Regards
