  • My writing journal is the backbone of my writing and writing business. This notebook helps me with ideas, it helps me see the thoughts as they begin to join together and make connections - sometimes months apart, and it helps me to work through my creative mindset issues.

Regarding your photo a day: I used a giant happy (memory) planner ( the biggest size) and stuck 1 photo, or news clipping, or my own words or drawings of what happened each day of the pandemic in 2020. I started in March 2020 ( when it hit where I live) and continued daily for a year when my interest in continuing fizzled out. It’s huge and now I love flipping through its pages. I know it’ll be a keepsake for my family one day. (I think I should create a post about it😃). PS I have not one post anywhere yet-I’m still hiding under my desk😉

I love this so much! I always want to make so lovely journals like this filled with my thoughts and musings but I get so stressed about “ruining” my pretty notebooks. But they look even more beautiful filled with notes and writing and love.

Thank you! And yes I used to worry about ruining them too, but now I love seeing all the pages filled in.

Thanks for sharing! I'm curious to know - how often do you go back & look over your writing journal to look for "trends" and see if what threads + ideas are forming/repeating?

I go through it once I've completed it and try to make notes of the key themes and the good ideas in my new notebook. But I also go back and forth through the pages regularly because I'm constantly referring to it.
