Does investment in stocks count towards "savings"? I admit I have been heavily investing but ignoring emergency cash/saving account (trying to fix that) but having my money sitting in my account without any growth (or even little, say 2%) isn't ideal for me.

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
More reason I enjoy my day to day market decisions is that i'm being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to

Thank you for your videos mate.... With Trump's presidency, economic shifts are expected to be significant, especially given the current recession and the potential impact of future rate cuts. Although rate cuts might not boost inflation as hoped, they may lead banks to further restrict consumer and corporate lending, contributing to a deflationary period for various assets. This environment could result in declining stock values, retail and housing sales, and rising unemployment due to layoffs. For investors, a diversified portfolio especially with stocks and cryptocurrencies offers some protection, serving as a hedge amid volatility. Melody, you said that in 2008: "Non-prime did not bring the housing market down; prime did." What?! This is certainly opposite from everything I've heard elsewhere, i.e. "Big Short" and so forth. Please explain?
Sub prime started the crash.....prime loans weren't so prime and lost value in homes and the cards came falling down. The prime market walked away and hit 2008 hard. This time will be worse. The numbers don't make sense. I know way too many real estate strong friends that are hurting in rental vacancies alone. 😊
Im old. Been in Real Estate game for over 40 years as builder developer contractor investor and service business owner. In my honest opinion, Real Estate is very local that said due to economic and financial conditions the poor conditions will spread further as opposed to the good news but again that will swing eventually.
At 36:00 when they are giving their forecasts they fudge a great deal. They don't give any perspective on where real rates are going to go, so they just say stay in money markets and short term treasurys. But that's a cop out. They imply they think nominal rates are going higher. But if they wanted to put money on that, they would say take out fixed home equity and long-term debt. But they do that so essentially they just say "We don't know." Why not just be honest?
Main takeaway: stay out of real estate and stocks, and keep surplus cash in short term US Treasuries. Just wait patiently for a year or longer for likely violent market corrections to play out after Trump takes over.
It was 25% for the full principal, interest, tax and insurance for mortgage, back in the 50s and 60s when the American economy was fundamentally very strong.
It was also FUNDED LOCALLY by a robust Savings & Loan industry. Many S&L were still family owned and operated by people who knew you and the neighborhood which kept valuations sane and kept families housed.
This is a really interesting take on the housing market. People are being impacted by the long-term decline in property prices and the housing market. I recently sold my house in the Sacramento area, and I want to invest my lump-sum profit in the stock market before prices start to rise again. Is now the right moment to buy or not?
Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert

@Melony. My understanding as a retiree is not correct probably. If the real estate investor allows the bank to lend me the money to buy a home, and later that same investor gets into financial trouble, it seems to me the mortgage I signed is at risk of seizure because the real owner might be considered the real estate investor. Not me nor the bank. Moreover, if the lender is a regional bank then my mortgage is at a higher level of risk. What am I missing?

Canada real estate centres have NO INDUSTRY! For example, what is the industry in Vancouver BC where you can't buy a doghouse for under a mil five! Ratty old green Monopoly houses sell for that much only because of the land! Developers collect 3-4 properties in a row and build an ugly 4-rise condo block All Over the City! But most people are in service industries. Hence, they pay over 40% of incomes in rent. Food costs are up by one third! Old people whose rent goes up because property taxes are insane and rising (10%), they have to move to a remote location, leaving their familiar trapline behind. It is crushing! The mayor of Vancouver is a developer, and has already agreed to a 15 minute city transformation. Centralized control IS the plan.
SOFR 30y Swap Rates have been compressing to very low levels. Lower long-term swap spreads mean lower for longer interest rates Jack. We live in a globally synchronized world on interest rates. Divergence happens from time to time, but expect long dated US Treasuries to resynchronize with the rest of world. We are not an island that is not affected by global trends. The value of the DXY should tell you that global dollar providers are becoming more risk adverse and that means the economy is shifting to a slow down.
If mortgage rates actually drop again then expect even MORE HYPERINFLATION in house prices!! Fake-ass ultra low manipulated interest rates for 23 years got us into this mess in the FIRST PLACE.

Canada does not have 30 year mortgages. They have 3-5 year. Those who bought 3 years ago at 1-2 percent will have to refinance at 5-7%. Assume a 500K - 750K existing mortgage. People will have a $500 - $700 dollar (Canadian) monthly increase.

To jacks comment on Buffet. As far as I know is he is right sizing his investments as they are out of line. Areas have got too big and so he is selling to get back to the right percentages in his portfolio He isn't getting out. Am I wrong?
Insurance and Proptery taxes are out of control too.
You ain't seen nothin yet😂😂😂
Yeah!!! Melody and Jack! Beauty and the beast. Love and adore you both.
I am investor and agree. In a deal currently, that I have to walk away from.
Portland OR is seeing a big hit with commercial real estate. $30 million buildings are on the auction block for $5 million.
The vacancy rate is projected to reach almost 50%. Portland is circling the drain. Lost count how many businesses closed up.
I completely agree
I know so many young ones buying houses now that should not have been. Waiting for when the for sale sign goes up.
Main takeaway: stay out of real estate and stocks, and keep surplus cash in short term US Treasuries. Just wait patiently for a year or longer for likely violent market corrections to play out after Trump takes over.
I have done exactly that…been in treasuries since 2022 averaging 5% with no risk…waiting for next crash which in inevitable and will pounce then
@@trentlyght2350and you missed out on one of the greatest bull markets of all time. Smh....
The looming depression will make the 30s look like the Golden Age.
Prepare accordingly.
What a dynamic duo ❤️
Why would you hold t-bills if rates are going higher?
Cleanest shirt in the laundry basket.
It's true that many people underestimate the importance of advisers until their own feelings burn them out. A few summers ago, following an ongoing divorce, I needed a significant push to keep my company afloat. I looked for licensed advisors and found someone with outstanding qualifications. She has contributed to my reserve increasing from $275k to $850k regardless of inflation.

Her name is Melissa Terri Swayne. Hope that helps
Thank you so much for your helpful tip! I was able to verify the person and book a call session with her. She seems very proficient and I'm really grateful for your guidance
It's obvious that Buffet is positioned to buy, after the crash. What crashes lowest of value worth buying afterward should be the big topic now.
The state of Mania, like that.
Blackstone disapproves of this message!
Very informative, insightful interview
Its good to see all 3 together 👍
Home Builder Stocks have gone down while the S&P went up. Also 10 year yield gone up but housing stocks down. Someones lying here... Housing has to go down....
Love hearing from Melody!
Excellent report 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
But my state is putting in windmills offshore to save us!
In the current economic climate, a home is not the best investment. I've already sold my Boca Grande area home, but I want to invest roughly $200,000 in stocks since I've heard that even in challenging times, investors may turn a profit. Any excellent ideas for stocks?
The truth is that if you make the right picks, you could make killer riches very quickly, although such profit usually needs expertise, as in hedge funds or financial managers. I personally prefer the latter.
I agree. Based on personal experience working with an investment advlsor, I currently have $985k in a well-diversified portfollo that has experienced exponential growth. It's not only about having money to invest in st0cks, but you also need to be knowledgeable.

The empty Big Lots down the street ain't gonna a new tenant for years. Same as 2009. Gonna take at least 6-7 years just like all the other vacant commercial property on this street. I watched it happen and it will happen again.
If the stock market starts to struggle for a bit then prices may start to become realistic. But as stocks rise 20% per year all the rich boomers are happy to buy what they want at any price. Everything only goes up, right?
Excellent information here. Happy new year.
Ron's basement podcast has now gone from precious metals to promoting his own meme coin. I think I smell a top in this bubble. END THE FED. Gold IS money.
I want higher interest rates! I love it when the bank pays me.
I'm waiting till we see 18% CD interest rates like we did in the 70's. If the US dollar looks stable.
Home values are declining rapidly in Massachusetts.
Tag ! I found the 🤡! ! Yet another year of renting, eh? 🤣
"Declining rapidly" 😂
@@brushcrawler8612 This bot 🤡 posts the same kind of thing on every crash doomer video.
If you overpaid for a home, it's not our fault. Poor baby.
Everyone hoping for a correction forget it. The corporate and wealthy investors will buy no matter the price. The middle class is being priced out of home buying and nothing will change it.
Thank you.
NO thanks to the cash. I will gold it in Gold.
And lose 50% in gold 2025!
I’ve just recently started getting Bitcoin ads on all of the finance RUclips channels out there.
Not an exchange, or a mining company ad. A straight up buy Bitcoin ad. This is interesting.
Host, you gotta move to a better sounding room friend. The echo in the hallway or living room is really harsh. Smaller room with stuff in it is a good solution
I love getting "expert" real estate insights from renters. 🙄
I am a Jack fan as he explains so understandable that aunt Frieda gets it. The lady is new for me and RBNB I do not know as I live free (no phone). I think, all what people do on phones are bubbles - but I have no idea what that might be.
Everybody folds under Melody😂
Learning how to help families that will face foreclosure seems like a good way to go, commercial looks bad as well.
🎯
Great Duo for the interview.
Money market we have is 5%. That’s where we put all our cash for now.
Really ? Whchi one ?
Money talks and B.S. walks. Make an offer even if it's low...they will counter offer back
Half of the people i know are working 1 full time job, 1 part time job and 2 side hustles
Shouldn’t this panel have Travis of Real Estate Mindset????
He's a better host than a guest, tbh. His technical knowledge is not at the same level. The more he learns, the better amount of particulars he will have answers for though.
@ but he’s had a bankruptcy, foreclosure, repo, divorce and much much more of life experience.
@PeteMitch69 not claiming that doesn't give him some insight, but when it comes down to hard data and providing assessments of how that attributes to things unfolding, I think these two are at a higher caliber. He is a great host and lines up great questions to extract info from guests like these two, though
@PeteMitch69 I'm starting to wonder if you are actually him 🤔 😂
@PeteMitch69 hahaha
Any thoughts on North West Arkansas?
And NW Vermont.
My son is waiting to buy.
Its not going to collapse. Its being artificially propped up. Its by design.
All generalizations.
Great guests!
What affordable housing crisis? The modern surf's and indentured servants of America will just have to get used to hot bedding the way sailors do on submarines. They will still own nothing and learn to deal with it.
Sounds like Dicken's London.
Thank you Jack! Buffett just bought Occidental Petroleum! I do not care. I hope all you guys make a lot of money!
