Thank you for this. I can remember exactly where i was when i first played this game over 30 years ago. I was at a friend's house in Wausau Wisconsin in 1988 or 1989. He had just got the game and we all sat around taking turns playing it. We would sit around talking about where to go and strategies for beating the bosses. I remember it like it was yesterday vividly. The fact that you have kept it in this condition for so long is mind boggling to me.
You should have been able to see the gold cartridge from the outside. That's the whole point of that cut-out in the box, this isn't the original plastic.
I still remember my older brother getting this after school & bringing it home. I couldn’t believe the cartridge was gold & he let me look at the map & instruction booklet. The game might seem simple nowadays but it was so freaking cool back then!
Great video. I play this couple times a year on my G&W and was craving some of the original experience with all the maps/strategies from my childhood. Definitely jealous. Treasure that piece of gaming history.
I still remember standing at the counter at Walmart watching my dad pick out the legend of Zelda not knowing anything about it and being unimpressed with the screen captures on the back.
I was told by a game shop guy that golden Zelda cartridges are special edition versions! What's makes them so special? What are the differences between the grey and gold Zelda NES games?
@@MarkFendy-sw7hn The gold ones were the original released versions in the late 80s. The Classics Series were in the early 90s if i remember correctly. They were both by Nintendo, i assume they dropped the gold carts for money reasons or just the fact that they scratched so easily.
Click bait??? There's no H seam, the manual and inserts didn't come in the sleeve like that and the map was sealed. Does this guy really think this is factory sealed.
This would be my version of opening a fine vintage wine.

Thanks man!
Nice bro 💯
Thanks man! Any advice?
What A Game that is
Nice video, but I don’t think Nintendo closed their plastic with tape. They shrink wrapped and had what’s called an “H” seem on the back.
Not a first version. First version had 5 screws. - Still cool.

The gray ones are actually more valuable as they only made a few of them for the Classics Series.
@@itzmikeomg2755 okay and also the gold Zelda 1 NES is American version language made in Japan? Thanks
