    I'm only here after watching Modern Family Season 4 episode 6 and seeing Phil using one. I had to see for my own eyes that such a bike even exists!

  • @markedward8519
    @markedward8519 2 года назад

    I was out riding my street strider 3i & the frame cracked right underneath the fold joint on the welded seal. The company sent me a new frame with the bottom bracket bearings & square tapers attached to the frame.
    I'm very nervous about taking apart my old street strider & putting together the new one. Taking all of the brake & gear shift wires out of the old frame & putting them into the new frame correctly looks like it's going to be very tough to accomplish. Adjusting the wheels (the back wheel came loose once on the old bike - I don't understand why there is a locking nut on the right side of the rear wheel but no locking nut on the left side ), keeping the tire pressure at the correct PSI, steering, brakes & everything else was so difficult when I first put my old street strider together. I have never been able to get the gear shifter to shift to gear 3 no matter what I adjust or do to the gear shift assembly. I hope it is easier when I'm putting the gear shift assembly on the new frame. It was mostly assembled before, what if all of the parts do not fit correctly & tightly on the new bike after I put it together? I'm worried about my safety & hope that I don't have any problems while taking apart the old bike & assembling the new one.
    I can't afford to go to a bike mechanic & am not mechanically inclined. Do you have any advice on where to put the parts after taking them off the old frame & before putting them on the new frame? My family & I are very concerned that I may do something wrong when trying to put this street strider together. I’m worried about what parts of the bike to add lubricants to on the bike.
    I hope that I’m not bothering you & that you can give some advice to help me take apart my old street strider & put together the new one. Any help that you could give me with my street strider would be appreciated because I’ve been worrying about getting this finished so that I can get back outside & focus on my workouts again & not on my safety. I hope this bike will last me for several years & that I don't have any more problems. Thanks for your time.

    When being ridden (driven? I dunno!) the street strider tracks a sinuous path. Bicycles don't do that, do they - at least not on every single downstroke?

    Claims of 50% more calories burned by Strider over a bicycle, given the same heart-rate. Where is your scientific abstract? What journal are you published in? For this claim to be valid your study must have been repeated by an independent scientific study. For this study to be valid the heart-rates of the Strider rider and the cyclist would have to be the same individual and the same heart-rate, and after a year of the subjects body adapting to the new device.

      for someone over sixty with absolutely no ego, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. No more 100 mile per day cycling on my ass and hip bones, no more numbing my popliteal cyst behind my right knee from running on hard surfaces, no more prostate promoting sitting on my hips from long distance cycling, no more falling from broken branches or rocks when inline speed skating. yeah, I can't wait to order one of these after the thousands of miles of running has got me busted up knees and thousands of miles of cycling has given me arthritic hips and spinal stenosis. yeah, what do I have to prove at my age except get a damn good full body workout that running can't give me and cycling can't give me and kayaking can't give me.
      Uh-huh. zero cool factor, you say mr. yu? My heart and legs and shoulders say otherwise. I guarantee ALL of of you that I will be FASTER on this than any of you on any bike, blades or kayak. This is the best designed full body outdoor workout possible with low impact. LOW IMPACT. very important for us Masters Athletes. We earned this. Every senior citizen should be given this machine by the government. Stop whinning.

      Kenneth Ketchum I totally understand. I danced heavily for decades and would bike hours a day along with other exercise and now my knee is messed up and my hip. I’m not a senior, but I have used what I have. People don’t tell you to pace yourself when you’re younger. Then when you’re an aging athlete everything goes to crap lol. Except the muscle, have tons of that. Just need a low impact workout. I have been eyeing this thing. I need something for indoors for medical reasons. The Tony LIttle machine is great - I like to feel like I’m flying (why I loved dance - doing leaps through the air), but they aren’t high quality. Thanks for your viewpoint and feedback on why it works for you. As an aside I wonder why there are so many concrete running paths in America. It isn’t good for joints/parts.

    • @hardcorehouse

      It’s cool, and I’ve always been intrigued. Might actually do it this time; huge boom in healthier lifestyles during this time of crisis. And ya, sadly at a certain age maybe mid 50s and beyond, things get brittle and one MUST factor in the type and quality of exercise that will give us great benefits without injuries-and this thing’s outdoors friendly though not exclusively, which is what we want in this new gym era.
