Was lucky enough to grab a dozen of these last year in stock for $1.25 each but now I don't think they sell it anymore. Always thought it had a less pleasant smell than Cafe Bustelo, but at half the price, the cream would nullify it enough. Back to buying Cafe Bustelo I guess since I can't find this stuff anymore haha
I'm not a coffee drinker but needed espresso to make a tiramisu - did NOT want to spend a fortune so Dollar Tree came through again along with the teeny little pickles I wanted for the antipasti.
A very good coffee at a great price. The only possible downside is it is slightly more acidic than many other brands. But for about a dime a cup you can’t beat it.
@@HouseofCid yes I agree. I’ve been buying this coffee for awhile now but I was curious how to make it with an actual espresso machine or one of those little manual espresso makers. I actually used to work at dollar tree lol
I drink that coffee we are Hispanic household straight from Puerto Rico we drink Cafe bustelo and we also drink that I have about thirty cubits of that that is not cheap coffee cheap means of poor quality it is inexpensive but they do sell that at other stores other than Dollar tree just to let you know Dollar tree gets that once in awhile because it's an overflow from the other stores😊 just an FYI the title needs to be changed because the word cheap the definition of species poor-quality if it's good it's not poor quality and that coffee is good we drinking every morning
I just discovered this coffee yesterday when I was shopping at the Dollar tree, and i thought "why not?" From what I read about it its said to be excellent for cafe con leche. Your vid has made me more confident and i look forward to making it for my ladies' brunch on Sunday since the two coffee drinkers like their brew strong. (We're both Scandinavian and they also love coffee that puts hair on your chest.😂) Thank you!
I saw this in my local DT and because of the colors, I picked up 5, and realized when i got home, this was not what i thought it was. Im going to drink it though
I just saw this video. Thank you for making it. I have been brewing some Cafe El Morro when I make coffee cakes, and I keep some as a back up for the winter months in case I get snowed in and run out of my regular coffee. I also take a package of this coffee every summer when my friends and I take our camping trip. Thank goodness for my Moka Pot.
I can only do 1.5 tbsp because this coffee is strong! But I feel like this espresso would be perfect for baking chocolatecake/tiramisu/coffee inspired dishes
This company has been in business since 1961. I saw this in my DT for the first time yesterday and I was shocked and excited and new what it was as soon as I saw it! I go to PR twice a year and bring back a lot of coffee for me and my friends. My favorite PR cafe is El Coqui but I like this one too. I will be returning to DT to purchase the rest that is on the shelf. lol PR coffee is double in price here IF you can find it, so this is a great find! Great video.
Where are you from?... State or City. Just curious... I remember my mom and dad making this as a kid; by boiling water, adding the coffee and using a fabric coffee strainer...
My Mother In Law is From Ponce, Puerto Rico & will only drink Bustelo. One day I went to the store & grabbed this thinking it was the same thing & she Flipped out spit it out & threw her chancletas at me as soon as she tasted it & cussed mi out en espańi😂
I like the pour over as back up. If I’m either out of Nespresso capsules or want to make larger amount of coffee. It’s good to switch it up once in a while. Hope you had a nice holiday.
I tried Bustelo and didn't care for it. Maybe because I used a regular drip coffee maker. Recently I got the Great Value version of the same and didn't care for it either in a pour over. However, I put it in a stove top percolator along with some regular canned coffee and the combination and method made it pretty good.
Not bad at all! Cafe el Morro must be done with an espresso pot, not intended for poor over unless you use a coffee sock which I learned to do in El Barrio, East Harlem in NYC. It's much more viscous and smooth on the tongue.
Yes definitely taste better if brewed in a Moka pot. I tried it in the Nespresso with a reusable capsule and tasted much better. Thanks for your comment.
I also bought it thinking it was Bustelo which is only $2.75-3.25 dep on where u get it. Anyways I was surprised that it was good for the money and that little 6oz lasts me like 5 big cups(18oz), I'd liken it to like a Folgers or Maxwell house only a bit darker. I make mine in a press.
I really got excited at first sight, but was fooled by the yellow packaging! 😆 It’s definitely good for the price, I need to try other brew methods with this coffee. Thanks for watching!
Actually that coffee is not cheap they're almost $4 what Dollar tree like to do is take sometimes expensive friends and they shrink it down a size I ended up buying one at Dollar tree and I bought one at the grocery store the Dollar tree one is smaller than the one at the grocery store pretty good coffee I drink it all the time Cafe de busted is the original coffee brand from Spain that became popular and Latin America's household🇵🇷
Omg so glad you posted this. I saw this and thought tjr exact same thing while browsing through the isles at 💵🌲. I have a moka pot and mostly make all my coffee that way. I'm happy you made this bcuz I bought 2 hoping they will do the trick. (Caffeine boost) I will say I think the taste is a bit different. I do smell something different...cant pin point it just yet. Yes it is strong taste but still something off a bit. BUT...once I added coconut milk it did help. I usually add a bit after having my first espresso cup of all black. I will say I do feel a bit energized and even a bit jittery. Hardly get that response from coffee. Usually I get more of an alert feeling when using good dark roast. But like the video says for $1.00 you truly cant beat this. I say give it a shot. You'll get your money. ack after having just one cup, whether you like it or not. Lol
We can't really expect gourmet coffee for $1...LOL It's definitely worth a try, if you don't like it then not much was wasted. I need to get a moka pot to try this coffee again. I have had worse tasting coffee, this one is not too bad. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I try to not talk so much. It annoys me when other YT talk for so long before they get to the point of video. I know many do it for watch time, but I’m not about trying to trick ppl to watch! 😆
Frist off thanks for the great video. That said I didn't care for it. I have alot of pour overs and after u make it really hard to get the grounds out and don't put them in your drain. Just wasn't my cup of (tea) coffee. Thanks for your video. 😇😎
I use this in my brewed coffee. I like Bold coffee flavor so I add a tablespoon to my regular coffee. Takes it up to the depth I like my coffee. I'm making an full carafe of 10 cups.
Don’t worry about losing your train of thought. It’s not easy to talk about coffee before you’ve had your coffee! I found el Morro after returning from Vietnam where they mostly use robusta coffee. I’d run out of the coffee I brought from there, and this was pretty darn close. I use an Aero Press most often and it makes a decent cup.

I forbid you from ever apologizing for not being a snob. We don't want snob videos. Perfect review by an actual human. :)
I love all coffee ☕ brands from the very low end generic ones to the ultimate premium packages.
This coffee definitely works best with a moka pot.
I think you’re right. I need to get a moka pot and try it. Never used one!
We like this coffee.
Thats the cafe bustero version hahah jk I found this at dollar tree also an decided to give it a try.
i love the bodum coffee maker.. i use it every day.
Bodum makes good products!
Great review! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!! 👍🏼
I make 12 oz of Folgers and a 12 oz Morro. Mix em in a mug and starts my day.
Love my Cafe Bustelo, Ground/ Instant. Morro Bold/Pretty Good. Cheers!
Bustelo is so good! Thanks for watching! 😁

I use its for cold brew. It removes the acidic taste
I mix it
Try a light sprinkle of salt on top of the grounds when brewing. Cuts bitterness and acid
This coffee if great. It really should be double the price.
I just make mine in a normal coffee pot an I just use more water then I would for normal dark roast coffee. Taste great
Hi Josh! Yes I think this coffee taste best making it in a regular drip coffee maker.

You meant a percolator also known as a Mocca Pot and the other coffee you were referring to is also an espresso.
Yes that’s the name percolator. We had that coffee make for many years??
Bought some of this yesterday at Dollar Tree. Made it on gas stove using Moka Pot. Not bad.
I paid more than a $1...$5😲

I used a french press for this and it isn't bad. But holy crap at the kick this has. It's worth it for a cheap pick me up honestly.
I have a french press and wondered if I could make it in it. What measurements did you use?
