- This episode got me both so mad and so sad. Loved the part with the meteor and Bang giving Genos that encouragement to not hesitate but instead just go for it. Even if it didn't work and Saitama had to come in to save the day. What got me going was how instead of getting praise and credit for saving everyone's lives, Saitama got hate. That's so messed up! Thank god for Genos stepping in and telling him what he needs to hear.

i love this show not because saitama is the strongest, but for how he actually is the true hero they all need and fail to recognize. watching reactions getting pissed off for the selfish society warms my heart lmao
S1 is a 10/10 and Saitama is really great. Has nuance and some layers.
It only makes me more sad that so called "s2" completely destroys every aspect of the story and craps all over the manga. Saitama's character assassination was the worst part, maybe. Hard to say when most everything else was about as gutted. Even the humor and basic dialogues. Unfortunate that because of it, the story won't receive a decent adaptation in the foreseeable future.
Manga was still very good at least.

society nowadays... no context, no knowledge, just mindlessly engaged.
The thing about saitama is that he thinks he has no challenges, but someone like Bang has much they could teach, if only he would listen.
Punch real hard works, but the collateral damage is huge. He doesn't think strategically, as Bang would. He has character flaws and blind spots that could be seen as an enemy to overcome, even if he can't find an external foe worthy of his might.
I think it's great to see him interact with the much weaker heroes who might just be morally superior, like mumen rider, or might fight hard with their minds as well as fists.
He is better for their example, and while he backslides, I think the audience can see his general progress is from that socialization.
Without it, he could have become just another Boros. Or perhaps that creature they call God is what happens when an unlimited being is not kept grounded by relationships.
Genos in this episode is really cool 🔥 he tries his best to hold back the meteor! And also for our baldy, Saitama 🤜🪨💥

I'm not sure that dude is secretly a villain, or if he is a red herring. Maybe he is just cold and selfish without being evil. He's certainly ambiguous in design and behavior.
It's interesting that Genos is the traditional hero. He started off pretty selfish, but has grown in virtue as well as might.
