Love it...one sexy set up! Backup on top of backup is crucial. Batteries alone on a grid-assist system (or hybrid) won't cut it...esp with no/low sunshine levels. Some have wind, solar, and hydro going on. Those hydro DIY systems with a constant flowing waterway (with enough torque) are really cool. Like, 24/7 energy coming in.
Ohhhh....So sweet, just like a Hallmark movie: someone important dies*, there is a nutcracker prominently displayed, it is a winter wonderland, and everyone lives happily ever after 🙂 *your power Merry Christmas from Montana, where we still have power, except for the breaker that just tripped from running the microwave and teapot at the same time, and where it is NOT -22 degrees F this week, anymore 🙂
Have an interlock setup on our panel and the harbor freight 8750 inverter generator. It's plenty of power to run the entire panel. The generator revs up just a little bit when you transfer the whole house over but it's not much. It will even run our downstairs AC unit (2 ton) with soft start installed on the AC. No load management needed in the house (all major appliances like hot water heater, range, clothes dryer are gas) except for don't run the 3 ton upstairs AC. Two AC units would be a little much for it running at the same time.
awesome! way to be prepared

Wow great results! That is a very similar generator!
@Green Mountain DIY Guy, Simple legible circuit labeling. Very nice. That an Eaton Cutler-Hammer? Looks well built with quality breakers.
Thank you! Yes, Eaton Cutler-Hammer equipment using BR breakers.
