😆😂 I tried but I think instead of getting to the bottom of it I ended up still confused 🥴😂 so many different places give different notes. The mystery of Crystal Noir! 🤣
@@AmyGlam I think you think good. The coconut note is in the EDP and the fig note is what people might be confusing for coconut in the EDT. You like both of them that’s the downside of be a fraghead. Because we know the notes we appreciate each perfumes more and it makes it hard to choose. Trust me I know. Even if I detect the slightest differences I’m like aaahhhhh i like that 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
To me , the EDT has a masculine quality to it, almost reminds me of aftershave smell. EDP is amazing , dense yet fresh, a dark coconut mixed with spices, one of my signature scents.
I dont know about EDT but I think EDP has some unisex quality to it. It doesn’t smell extremely feminine to me , i wouldnt mind wearing it 😅

Thank you for doing this video!! Finally I found someone that compared the two. I only had EDP and recently went to Macy's to get another bottle and it was EDT--they're definitely not the same scent. I'm sad I couldn't get the EDP. But I'd rather have it in my collection than not.

Thank you Amy for putting out this video on the comparison. I do own the edt and love it for what it is. Now I know I don’t need the edp. I do smell coconut in mine as well.
The EDP was my signature scent during my music days when I used to play out at bars and clubs at night in an acoustic duo. I would pick up whatever it was that I wore it could be like 3 weeks later and that scent was still so strong and so good. Probably my favorite fragrance of all time. Definitely the strongest perfume I’ve ever owned.

I have the EDT, I haven't used the EDP, but the EDT was love at first sniff for me. It is still one of my favourite fragrances to date.
I was so excited when I saw this video 😊 thank you so much for doing it and saving me some money 🤣. You explained it so well and it was so helpful but like you said the mystery and confusion will live on. I have the EDT and absolutely LOVE it. After this video I don't feel like I need the EDP at all. To my nose I smell coconut in my EDT and that's what I wanted, it's probably from the fig/frangipani combo you mentioned. Either way the EDT is a LOVE for me. 😊👍🏼👌🏼

I love hearing scent perceptions from others because it’s so personal. Versace Crystal Noir EDP has always been a favorite for me. I don’t get the spicy notes at all! I know I’m not nose blind to those notes because I can pick them up in other scents. My husband gets the pepper straight away. He prefers the dry down. I love it throughout. Love your videos!

Thank you for this video! I have the EDT, now I want the EDP. I heard men LOVE the EDP😋 Dolce Garden is a beautiful coconut fragrance. I get a lot of compliments on it.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! The edt is super long lasting so you don’t need both. Maybe when you finish the edt you can try the edp to see if you enjoy the spicy notes in the opening of the Edp 🥰☺️
Im in love with the EDT.. and I don’t usually impressed with the performances of EDTs but this one it’s different.. it stayed on my skin a little longer too..
This is def a beast mode fragrance. If you put it on your clothes, you can still smell it even after washing them. I like the dry down much better on the EDP. I don't wear it much, but it is a very unique perfume and I won't get rid of it.

And you know what I also Definitely agree with that coconut in the edt. It took me a while to pinpoint but at the 15min drydown you can INDEED get it!! After a looong smell you get the "bark" and the milk, just like you said!! Thank you I feel like a champion now! 😅

I always go back and binge watch your videos. I found the EDT at Ross and watched this video while I was shopping around. As soon as you said the EDT last for hours and you smelled coconut 🥥…. It went in the you’re coming home with me pile..I just sprayed it on and I love it

Hope you love the edt version! It is still very long lasting and strong! Just doesn’t have those super strong pepper, ginger, and cardamom notes. 🥰

Great review!! I smelled the EDT version only in Ulta. I could have sworn i smelled a creamy coconut but it could have been fig. The spices blend well with the creamy notes so I’m not sure. I loved it though!!!🖤🖤🖤🖤
Hi Amy!!! I found a great deal on a new edt and I bought it.. I love it so much more than the edp.. although I really havent smelled the edp in a while. I smelled it in sephora and remembered not being crazy about it.. anyways u read my mind with this video ..lol. my husband kept asking me what the differences were...lol. thanks again❤❤❤❤

I ordered the EDP and it is a blind buy so hopefully I’m going to love it. ❤
I tested them side-by-side, and I really could not tell the difference.. if I smelled my left hand first and then my right, one smelled a bit more coconutty, but then later if I smelled my right hand first and then my left, they switched! They’re really so close it’s hard to tell any difference, the only thing I could figure out was that the EDP was a little bit longer lasting on me!
For me I hated the opening in the edt but in the dry down I started to get more coconut and actually started to like the scent

God knows I’ve been waiting for this video. This was the first perfume I’ve tried that was an instant love at first sniff (the edt version) I’ll always remember that feeling 😂 it kinda sticks with you. Such an unique, dark, spicy, cold and hard to describe fragrance. The only thing that kept me from buying it that day was that the drydown was a bit too woody for me and made me a little nauseous (it was a super hot and humid morning so maybe that’s why). I’ll have to revisit this gem ASAP.

It was love at first spray for me too (edt). The drydown is what got me addicted. I loovveee the edt, can’t get enough of it. 🥰
It's intoxicating. I just smelled it on my coworker today and I'm in love!!! Ordered a bottle immediately
I haven’t tried the EDP yet, but, on me, the edt smells like a shampoo or something with gingerlily and mint (one of L’Oreal’s Ever Strong lines used to smell similar) PLUS those fruity and woody vibes - AMAZING! It reminds me very much of Jo Malone Dark Amber and Gingerlily, but lasts longer and doesn’t cause a headache like the Jo Malone one tends to when I wear it. I agree that fig can be coconut-y sometimes. CSP’s Coco Figue is a summer favorite of mine because those two notes play so well together! Thanks so much for this comparison and review - very helpful!

I like the EDP version more, it's more complex and subtle; more warmer, spicier, coconutty and creamy (it reminds me very much of my beloved first omnia - the brown one) but the EDT is more prominent, lasts longer, smells stronger and it has something of a fresher aura. They are both very interesting, so much alike but also different. I have them both but I use the EDT more often simply because the EDP doesn't last long and it's sadly a weak fragrance in comparison to EDT (on my skin). To me the bottle is very unique, the color suits the fragrance completely and the big "stone" is beautiful.

I wanted to come here and say thanks for the video because I love (and still love) EDT and wanted to know if I should stay there or give EDP a try, and I decided to stay with what I love. I'm so sad to hear from comments that EDT is being reformulated! I had already purchased a new bottle a while back, but it seems I should snag another (hopefully) original whenever I see it soon...

This is one of the best perfume review/comparison videos I’ve seen on RUclips. Now I know that if I decide to blind buy Crystal Noir, I will definitely get the EDT, since I’m generally not a fan of very peppery scents.

This was a great concise review describing the differences between these two fragrances. I smelled them both in Ulta and the EDP almost took me out! Initially I didn’t like the EDT either but when I tried it on my skin I loved it. I need to try the EDP on my skin too before making my final decision on it. Enjoyed the video 🥰

Fun fact on the Versace crystal fragrances: The medium bottle lids fit the large bottles as it's the same size lids. That's why it looks ridiculously big on the medium bottles.

I smelled the EDP first on a coworker in 2015 and I had to know what she was wearing. Purchased a set that day. It projected so well I knew she was in the area long before I saw her. It was a lovely clean soapy smell. Sad the EDP is no longer readily available.
I love that you did this comparison. Because I've been on the fence of purchasing this fragrance but wasn't sure if I should do edp or edt, 90% of the time I purchase edp on fragrances

I would say that EDT is everyday perfume, and EDP could be good date, date night perfume.
The EDT has a strong projection just after one spray, the EDP stays closer to the body and has less projection.
I like them both, but I will probably keep the EDT due to projection and versatility.
The edt smells weak and watery and disappears quickly on me. I need to get the edp. Glad you did this.

I’m a guy and the EDP is my signature scent. It’s hard to find but I can still get 2021 bottles. The volume percent is now down to 67 down from 77. If anyone is reading this…. The EDP is discontinued yet there appears to be a reformulation. 2020 bottles smell nothing like the last/newer batches. Notes are missing.
Following up, it’s NOT discontinued!! It’s just not available in the United States, like Versace Oud Noir EDP. It’s reformulated, BOTH versions are! The edt is now 78% alcohol instead of 77%. Edt is an ENTIRELY different scent from 2021 onwards, same for EDP. EDP now smells like an older toilette formulation but missing notes.
I just bought the Versace Crystal Noir EDP at my local Beall's store in USA. I returned this today to Beall's because it was 100% Counterfeit. I went to Ulta and Dillard's to compare caps and fragrance. They had only the EDT, but still the scent was a whole lot stronger than the counterfeit. The cap was not authentic. Paint on the box was uneven on the ingredients side. The bottle label on the bottom had a mistake. So definitely counterfeit perfume. So I got a refund. Will wait until I can get it in America or buy it when I go abroad.

The EDT smells a lot like bright crystal to me but it changes in the drydown, and I get the coconut. I actually didn't like it in the opening but do like it in the dry down
My skin eats any fragrance I put on , so I'm leaning towards the edp. I love the smell of spices I literally open cardamom, pepper, ginger powders just to smell them lol. I just ordered the edp and I cannot wait.
I have tried the edp and I never liked it. When I bought a bottle of Versace Dylan blue pour femme I got a 5 ml bottle of crystal noir edt, and oh my god, I love it ❤️ and now a bottle of that one it’s on its way home to me 😆
Now I’m going to be tempted to buy the EDT. I have the EDP but I haven’t reached for it since I first bought it last year. Idk how to feel about it so it’s been sitting since.
😆 Try a sample to see if you notice a difference between both. I much prefer the edt 🥰
great video! i have the edp and get the coconut in it-- its a very soapy coconut though, not a sweet or cloying or gourmand one. i think its because it is a lactonic fragrance overall with sandalwood and gardenia (though not "creamy" like you said). i haven't tried the edt, but i assume it has lactonic qualities in it as well which is why people are so confused over the whole coconut thing.

This is a great comparison! I believe ScentBox offers the EDT and ScentBird offers the EDP; since I subscribed to both I will test both. I appreciated how in depth you went here!

I got it for the spicy opening. On the dry down I get coconut and gardenia.The gardenia is not flowery, it gives it more of a clean feel. Thank you for this comparison! (*Edit: I actually have the EDT not EDP. I had to check my bottle.🤦😂 I stand by my comment. Still get a bit of spiciness in the opening and a lovely dry down.)

I’m so happy you did this! I’ve been so confused 😕. I didn’t like the EDP at all it’s too strong for me so I gave it away. I had no idea there was an EDT and I was so skeptical about purchasing it for the same reasons of it being too strong.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I think the edt is still a strong fragrance but not as strong as the edp. Maybe you can try a sample of the edt to see how you feel about it 🥰 I think it’s a little less harsh.

Versace crystal noir edt is very sophisticated i love it
I had the EDT and loved it but I had to declutter it. I had COVID in January and it was the last perfume I wore before I lost my sense of smell. After I got better and got my sense of smell back, the EDT was so triggering for me. The first time I wore it after I had a full blown panic attack. 😞

I own EDT tester and it has the same notes as EDP with cardamon, pepper, orange blossom and coconut listed. This EDT is when it first came out and it has original notes.
I wore Cristal Noir when it first came out and it smelled exactly as the tester above with prominent cardamom, ginger, black pepper vibes.
But recently it has been re formulated and the notes slightly changed. The new version of EDT doesn’t have cardamom nor coconut but they still smell very similar. I also agree with Amy the edt version is less dense than edp.
On me both pull strong orange blossom.

In the reformulated version, which one would you suggest Edt or edp? Which is more closer to the orginal ( before reformulation) crystal noir

I got the 2021 version EDT on 1.7oz on sale for 20$ at cvs for a relative and the smell is amazing. I Sprayed it on my jacket so i could smell the perfume and 3 days later it still smells strong. Found the 2023 3.0oz remaked version on cvs for 50$
I'm a guy and I wear the EDP I can spray 2 sprays and the fragrance literally lasts on my clothes for 2 days and I have never gotten more compliments with a fragrance to me it can be a unisex fragrance it just reminds me of warm breezy night out in Miami Beach
Got the edp today and sprayed it in my wrist. Didn’t budge until I had my bath lol
Yeah I don't get coconut at all!For me this is a dark night heavy perfume.Perfect for Autumn or Winter.The duration is pretty discnet.After a while the final smell for me is like smoke😐
