so good!! its ok we love them and know how FREAKING HARD it can be to crochet and knit also pllllzzzzz do the taylor swift folklore cardigan if you havent already, no rush tho ❤♥
fun fact, the coraline sweater in the actual film is hand knitted with teeny tiny needles. The creator is Althea Crome and she also made the gloves too and she makes loads of tiny complex sweaters for art shows
Blocking really does make a difference. I had refused to the entire time I was knitting for YEARS, and then I started crochet five months ago and then blocking didn't seem so bad lol
Just picked up knitting literally two days ago, nowhere near doing this, but watching while knitting, excited for the future where i can make this stuff :) humans are so funky man
these videos are such high quality. relaxing music, full captions with punctuation, and SO much detail and explanation of your process. so glad I found this channel
Blocking makes your work feel more finished because the process relaxes and evens your tension throughout the project. When everything is more uniformly distributed, the fabric feels smoother and has more drape/flowiness! Definitely recommend blocking for garments but it’s not so necessary for more decorative items:)
@@The.fantasybug you can pin it to your couch or a chair if you have one, and honestly throwing something through the washer and drier might be enough “blocking” for some projects
Seeing how cute the Coraline sweater turned out makes me regret that I couldn't figure out knitting, when I can crochet just fine. I want to figure out how to knit so badly now!
this is literally my favourite crochet/knit series on youtube. it always makes me excited to recreate things from my favourite films/shows. and it is so crazy how much work you put in each video, it literally takes me weeks to make one project that you show lol
I am always impressed by your perseverance and ambition. The projects are amazing 🤩 I think recreating a blanket from couch in Walter White's Hause from breaking bad would be nice
I love how everything came out 🥰 It's the little imperfections in handmade items that I think are so charming in how they tell the story of the pieces creation. My grandmother is gone but I get a moment with her whenever I notice those little details and imperfections in her work, its really cool. Feeling inspired now. Thanks for sharing 😊
hey wanted to let you know this video is what convinced me to learn how to knit while being left handed. so i can make gwen's cardigan. and after literal months of trying and giving up repeatedly i can happily say I FINALLY KNOW HOW TO KNIT!!
I love your videos so much!! it is so evident the amount of work you put into not only the pieces, but also the video editing! you inspire me so much < 3 🫶🫶
My gosh I’m in awe of your talent. I’m so thrilled I came across your RUclips. Love your stitch marker. Knitting is not difficult. Is the glitter not itchy. Lovely instructions. Going to watch more of your RUclips’s. Thank you so much
Every single piece is so well researched, tried and tested before being completed and this took a tremendous amount of patience, talend and determination, my congratulations 🎉 you are indeed very talented
I spent the past 2 years crocheting my coraline sweater. Because 1: i wasn't working on it at every moment of every day, i'd sometimes go weeks without touching it and 2: i frogged it and redid the entire thing about 3 times. And the very night I finally finish it, I get this video recommended to me. Quite the coincidence pfft. But yours looks lovely :]! And makes me think i should probably block mine as well..
This series has inspired me to make my own movie and show inspired clothes whenever I get better at crocheting and learn to knit, there's so many cute tops in old 80s horror films 16:54 an earthier tone seems like what you needed, there's a brand call wool and the gang that has a pretty earthy chunky yarn from what ive found
In regards to the cardi, we are our own worst critics. I would never notice the cuffs if it wasn't pointed out to me. It looks amazing, and you look super cute in it and the suit! I thought that was a really nice touch! Another awesome video that I had to smile at!
The fact that I just screenshotted Angela’s blanket yesterday with the intention of figuring out how to make it, I come across this. You’re an angel and I love your videos!!!! Thanks for doing all the hard work for me ♥️♥️
First - you can give yourself and your work 10/10 absolutely no doubt about it Second - I waited until the end to see which one is my favorite and the Cardigan is definitely my favorite! The first sweater is 9,5/10 and the blanket 9/10 but the entire journey is 12/10 thank you!
The amount of work and time you put into these pieces and video. I can only imagine! I would never have the patience to make such things so I’ll just stick to smaller projects! But I LOVEE to watch you make all of these things!❤
Your creation is SUPERCUTE!!! And you are ABSOLUTELY correct in your thoughts about fast fashion vs. hand created fiber art! You are an inspiration and keep going and creating!
Thank you for another stunning video. You have a lot of talent and your artwork looks so high quality. I can tell that you put an extra amount of passion and motivation into your work! You should totally enter some pieces to a fair or craft festival, you are very much first place worthy. Keep doing what you do! ♥
ikoxun i literally love you so much!!!!! 💞 youre literally one of my favorite creators on here and your pieces are always amazing and so creative!!!!! :)))) you inspire me to keep creating and crocheting, another amazing episode as alwayss!!!!
I never leave comments but I have to say that I have been trying to learn to crochet for years but I have never finished a project because I always find a different hyperfixation. Your first (I think) crochet from film is was inspired to pick up crochet for one last attempt because I wanted to make Coralines gloves. I impulsively also decided to turn her star sweater into a cardigan. I have 4 squares finished which is the furthest I've ever gotten in a project so thank you for the motivation!
Your Coraline sweater is so cute!! Love the intense sparkle! And the Spiderverse sweater looks so comfy; using the thread for the sketched bits is so clever! Fun fact about the sweater in the Coraline movie: The sweater, as well as many of the other knitted pieces, were actually knit by hand! There's a video on the LAIKA studios' youtube channel showing the knitter, Althea Crone, making the star sweater and showing off other miniatures that she made for the movie.
I am totally amazed at your knitting and crocheting, you have helped me want to knit more. I am a mom and grandma and happily can say I was i have learned something from you. Thank you
Put this on while I was cooking and your voice is so relaxing and your projects are inspiring! The attention to detail with Angela’s blanket was crazy!! :)
the sparkly yarn looks so good in that dark blue sweater! It's super creative and really makes it accurate to the movie, love the idea. Also, I'm happy you were safe and that gas situation wasn't dangerous, it must've been a scare
I actually find the shade of orange that you used very accurate to the one in the film!! it's like a perfect match, I'm actually surprised that you were able to find that shade!
i am grateful for you including knit projects in your videos, it feels like everyone hates knit (or just thinks crochet is BETTER :/ it's ok to have a preference but that doesn't make it superior but anyway) and as a result i feel like i never see cool knitting tutorials so thank you!!!! ❤❤❤

This is so cool! I can't believe you made that blanket so quickly lol, you are an inspiration. Also, that graph is a life saver. Can't wait to try this myself!!
