- On today’s "Drink Champs" episode, the Champs chop it up with music superstar Nicky Jam! El Ganador shares his origin story of coming up in Puerto Rico and eventually making the move to Colombia, where he rejuvenated his career.
Nicky shares stories of being JAY-Z’s tour guide in Puerto Rico at the age of 12. He also talks about his professional relationship with Daddy Yankee and how he’s always looked up to him as a mentor. As Nicky discusses about his passion for music and melody, he also opens up about the challenges he faced early in his career and how his battle with drugs almost took his life.
Moreover, the artist delves into how he rose to superstardom, his Netflix biographical series “Nicky Jame: El Ganador,” the impact of his music, and his legendary performance at the FIFA World Cup alongside the one and only Will Smith! #NickyJam #Reggaeton #DrinkChamps

We need Daddy Yankee on here!
No we don’t. Nicky can be himself
Daddy yankee completely abandoned Nicky to his Demise
I am So disappointed in him as a human being.. he’s supposed to be a “good person” but wasn’t there at all for Nicky.. not even a freaking phone call in six years!!
Says a lot about him being selfish
Thank GOD for those Ángels Nicky found in Colombia he’s here to tell the story

Thank you brotha, as Puerto Rican that loves hip hop to death and has so May idols that are black, it feels great for a black brotha to give props to someone that’s Puerto Rican. Thank you again

2011 at his low the local Latin club booked Nicky Jam for a show. Of course I went down the street to catch a legend for the low.
It wasn’t packed so I was comfortably in the first row in front of the stage and off to the left. Nicky Jam walked in by my right to catch the stairs at the far left. I told him yoo “you should be where Daddy Yankee is at.” He smiled and put his fist out to give me a bump 🤜🏼 then ripped the stage.
I’m happy to see he eventually earned his just due. Nicky a real 1.
Good story fam. Thank you.💪
This is probably one of if not the best episode of drink champs, Nicky Jam is definitely a great dude.
NORE is the first to help bring Reggaetón to the states for the urban / pop culture ! He’s part of the movement ! No questions he’s a Legend
Reggaeton was In the states that you didn't know of it is different
That's not true.
Reggaeton was already in the states specially the east coast and Latin radio stations were playing Tego, Don Omar, DY way b4 NORE fucked with oye mi canto in 2006

Dope interview not like the breakfast club any time a Latino artists goes up charla always with the weak questions and no respect
I felt so mad about that. Looked very racist stuff. But thats just me.

He's a racist bro, he hates anyone lighter then him lmao he stsy getting a envy for being light skin n he also bleached his skin at one point

I swear Nicky is a comedian in another life bc he’s hilarious
This is da most comprehensive reggaeton interview ive ever seen in MY LIFE. Whoever's reading da comments that works for drink champs I think ya tripped over some gold because I've never seen anybody do such a good interview with a reggaeton artist that American born Latinos can really get into thoroughly. More of this PLEASE.
Was waiting for this one. That Nicky Jam series on Netflix was dope. I appreciate his honesty, a lot of people like to make themselves look good in their own projects but Nicky made it known that he was the one fucking things up. I remember when NORE dropped that Reggaeton album years ago, people trashed him but he was way ahead of the curve.
This was one of the best episodes. Such a down to earth one.
This is a fire episode! Is it just me or could Nicky Jam could be a stand up comic 😂
Word not sure bout stand up cuz that’s an art in itself, but definitely be in a funny movie or something
This was a good interview. Colombia offers soo many opportunities for career advancement-drugs aside.
