While he was fishing he was so into it. I let him fish with my cane pole and once I saw him catch fish I saw the love in his eyes. I gave him my cane pole and some line and gear so he could keep on fishing. All I want to say that even the smallest fish can inspire someone to love fishing. I do not have the means to do this but I would love to see my actions passed forward by the Googan squad to donate supplies to kids who cannot afford fishing but love it. As a avid fisherman it is one of the best feelings to see someone fall in love with fishing who would otherwise never been exposed to it.
Tips for fishing cane/bamboo poles. It's best if you tie it at the base, run the line the length of the rod and tie it at the tip and continue it out to where you want your hook. My great grandfather taught me that. It's how the old timers did it so if you break the rod you don't lose the fish and hook.
