- EDIT: Since I saw some comments regarding it, I am indeed aware of what the song is actually about, and have read the translation before I started working on this project. How it's about summoning spring and is more jolly, and also inspired by folk songs. And do not get me wrong I am not trying to be disrespectful, I just have a taste for merry-go songs going along with a more dark story, especially due to the beat suggesting something ominous.
Okay So,
I learned from the existence of this song this morning and I am yellinghghng.
Aka me being a dummy and not watching Eurovision this year smh.
(The last bit's tweens are bit off, but I couldn't make it work another way, due to watning to sync it with the beat.)
This song is a massive bop, and I also went to the museum yesterday, where there was a little presentation/show about owls, and I hade to make something based on these two things. Anyways this is Rothwell aka Lord of Burying/Burial.
( I will do more stuff regarding his story soon enough again, because I am obsessed.)

As a Ukrainian, I really like your take on the song! I think there is nothing wrong with pairing up scary images with jolly tunes and it is actually my favorite type of parodies and content. Even if you were not aware of the song's meaning, I would say that you would still have the right to depict how you feel about the song as long as it is not complitely disrespectful. You are not wrong about the sounds being more sinister than what they appear in the beginning, the beeping at the beginning is reminiscent of the radiation hazard alarm and invokes the memories of the Chernobyl disaster. Thank you for your video, it is so beautiful!

I think that kind of fits the image. Death can seem scary but maybe the other side is peaceful and nice, and we simply can't understand that. The owl is scary but maybe just takes souls to the other side rather than killing people. The idea of something seeming scary until it's understood could be why they choose that. IDK though

Но соглашусь с остальными: песня и видеоряд очень далеки по смыслу. Нельзя просто так взять и впихнуть невпихуемое, а потом ждать понимания аудитории. Но по отдельности все воспринимается гораздо лучше!
Особенно понравился персонаж. Этот "сова-жнец" выглядел бы отлично в каком-то хардкорном мультике, или игре-слэшере. Хочу еще раз увидеть данного персонажа, только в более подходящем сеттинге.
Этот перс напомнил мне об одной доброй совушке из Адского Босса...🌚
Ну это далеко от "впихнуть невпихуемое в…", хоть и по отдельности песня и видеоряд вызывает полностью разное ощущение. Но вместе они, лично мне, напоминает о старых ритуалах, например чтобы задобрить духов леса, лешего и так далее~ ибо никого не убивают, "кровь" (наверное это кровь) течет из ладони персонажа который кажется не умер и из черепа совы, что можно считать реквизитом или инструментом для старых ритуалов~ и красный фон который может навивать жути… ну а песни, в стародавние времена, даже во время жертвоприношения можно было услышать и более весёлые мелодии~ (а в видео даже жертв нет, кроме крови с ладони)
Ну это как с современными искусством, все видят своё, только автор сидит и улыбается

Многие пишут что между песней и видео нет связи но мне видится история великого голодомора. Люди тогда очень ждали весну чтоб можно было есть, хотя бы траву. У них буквально не осталось ничего, несчастные проводили время в полях, выкапывая червей и выискивая мышиные норки с горсточками их запасов зернышек и даже эта еда скоро закончилась. Особенно жутко, когда на костях вырастают цветы, политые кровью. Грустно, страшно, символично но для людей это было спасением.

This seems to have a lot of norse undertones which is funny because we kinda come from vikings and i'm absolutely here for it!!! Also i love that the flowers dropping on the skull are in rythm with the lyrics that if translated literally say plant(the action of planting) which is either a cool coincidence or an amazing attention to detail!!!
