Didn't know about that lil notations on the tape measurer...one has it, the other doesn't. I guess I will pay attention to that from now on when buying tape measurers! 2 is one, 1 is none!
I really like the video and process. Pro tip; your verbal explanations use a lot of "we're gonna go ahead and . . .". Eliminate that for more effective comms.
I love hearing what other crews call things! I laugh sometimes when we are doing a video because I will say something and realize only someone from our crew or trade would know what I am talking about. And then for our crew the rabbit hole begins, of where in the world did that term start. Most people would laugh to realize how many of these discussions go on. Any idea of the origins of cattywompus?
Thank you for the question! After a lot of years of helping people with little to no construction experience, we realized most people are stuck before they start. They look at a layout for a foundation and are overwhelmed. Which for most, means they either never actually start the project or they put posts in the wrong location. The way we are showing people that you can set the foundation in our kit makes it easy to put them in the right place because you already have your floor in place. Call it a way we try to help people cheat through what can be a challenging step for some. Someone with construction experience could certainly set their posts prior to building the floor, but we have geared our cabin kit and these videos so people with all different levels of experience can build one.
This is great!!!!
Your framing style is unlike anything I’ve ever seen 🤔

Why not put the posts in first instead of purposely bowing the floor joists?
