What type of engine is that? It sounds like a Subaru boxer. Lancia did rally great for many years. The ever conquering Stratos is my favorite of all time. I have loved those since I was a small boy.
You're right about the sound; it looks a lot like the sound of the Subaru Legacy with the boxer engine. I think that part of the sound is due to the exhaust system. The engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo, 16v, which develops around 330hp. The car of this video is perfect as mechanical preparation and the pilot drives it very quickly 👍
its a 1998ccm engine, prepared by Abarth. the 16v versions had a different turbocharger setup, so they needed higher rpm to producer the same torque as a 8V. the 8v had better torque out of corners.
