Thank you for sharing this! It was really interesting and I felt like I was able to learn something without the job experience, so that was very cool. I wish you the best of luck with your new job
Omg you're experience working at Eckards is hilariously similar to my experience now working at a similar type of retail drugstore with a pharmacy. We also have the photo kiosk and a few weeks ago I had to learn how to deal with people bringing film in and you're completely right, it's still the exact same system it sounds like. They even have the same little sealable bags with the customers info on it etc. Also we have the little sales tags too except that we have to set them up on Sundays instead of Saturdays.
Your pharmacy experience is SO familiar to me. I was working the front counter at CVS when I was 18 and starting college, then one day they called me and asked if I could work the register in the pharmacy for just “one day”. One day turned into a week, which turned into a month, and then the board of pharmacy said to keep working back there I had to get my tech license. I didn’t really want to be a tech but it paid better so I studied, took the test, and became a tech. It turned into a great job, and I’ve been a tech ever since, working at different pharmacies. My FAVORITE part of that job though was the putting up and taking down the sale and organizing shelves. I’ve always loved your organizing videos because I’m the same exact way, I could’ve come in when the store was closed and done that for hours with no distractions from customers and it seriously would’ve been my ideal job. So satisfying and peaceful. Stressful when you try and juggle customers at the same time though
Also I did the film development thing right before it was phased out and I hated it haha. The machines were constantly breaking, customers were super impatient, and I was also a cashier and stock worker at the same time and was told repeatedly the camera department was lowest priority so it was a constant interruption to my other tasks that I got in trouble for not doing even though I was helping customers. I was super glad when they turned it all into automated computers at my store just so I could focus better on the other things I had to be doing.
Ahah! She worked in a pharmacy, I knew it since when she organized the over the counter shelves in her other video, she was so knowledgeable. I just finished a pharmacology course at my college and I had already forgot some at the things that she just rattled off.
I really like this video. I just discovered ASMR, and a lot of the videos I’ve seen so far are somewhat of an ASMR trigger overload. To be quite honest, if certain things to you aren’t triggers, they can be quite annoying. Just straight dialogue in a whisper has so far been my thing. It’s just so relaxing to hear someone speaking in a non-loud, dramatic manner. I subscribed because of this video, and your content isn’t lewd like a lot of the other stuff I've seen.
Great video. You really are a wonderful human being. Thank you for sharing all of this. I am going to have my 16 yrld step daughter listen to this. She loves asmr but there is a great lesson in this video as well.
Mary, I could tell you were an intelligent person👍 I love to hear your stories. It reminded me of the many jobs I've had in my life. My Grandson likes when I talk about them. He laughs. Lol
I am 19. I was fortunate enough to get a job at 15 years old. In New Brunswick the legal minimum working age is 16 (and most places don’t hire under that age). I worked as a tour guide at a church between my freshman and sophomore years. The following year, the church was closed for tours due to COVID, so I got a job as a Produce Associate at Walmart (actually, I’m celebrating three years with the company today). I worked there nearly full time during the summer of 2020, then reduced hours during my junior year, then nearly full time between junior and senior years, then part time during my senior year. Last year, the church reopened for tours, and I was hired back on for the summer, keeping my employment at Walmart. I worked part time during my freshman year in university, and now I am going back as a supervisor for year three as a tour guide at the same church! I hope to become a teacher after I finish my degree
Rachell I was just curious because she mentioned it twice and I never meant to hurt her. I guess curiosity killed the cat. I love her like RUclips mom ♥️
I don't really care to talk about it. Long story short, some man found out tons of personal information about me and started sending things to my home, calling my personal cell phone, sent me long letters, sent flowers to my work, then started talking about coming to see me. I had to get the police involved to finally get rid of him. It was scary and not something I want to get into a long discussion about. He's left me alone for a long time, and I hope he continues to do so.
Im 25 and have worked over 6 jobs before landing my full time career in home building that im in now. Yeah, i stuggled thru most of them but you gain endurance to dealing with shit that the world throws at you.
interesting! good tips! I'm from Croatia and here people rarely get a raise, especially in the private sector. Students are paid a minimum hourly students' rate around 4.25 dollars (27 kunas)-no mandatory benefits (health insurance and pension). the average monthly salary is around 4500 kn. Your video is very informative, thanks. You have lots of experience and are a hard working woman

BTW more shocked by you saying your 46! My goodness, I thought you were my age of 36! That thorough skincare regimen must be doing the trick!! Thanks for another well timed video even at 4am GMT xx

Hard work pays off and this platform is an example of your work ethic. Kids need to pay attention to this. Aside from your job, you sell items on EBay, you do RUclips, and you shop at thrift stores to save money. Why nobody has slapped a ring on that finger is beyond me.
LOL my first car was a 1972 Ford Maverick. Got that when i was in high school MANY years ago😅. Oh and i have had every car problem you could ever dream of. My favorite car is a BMW. LOVE those cars.
Mary, it sounds like you're now a direct contractor (not through an agency). That makes you technically self-employed. You can set up an individual 401(k) account. With that, you can put in both employee and employer contributions. There are lots of good web sites on the topic.
I set up an individual 401(k) when I left my old job in 2018, and I contribute to it every month, but thanks! Also, my employer doesn't contribute for contract employees.
@@SouthernASMRSounds Right, they can't contribute to a 401(k) because you're not an employee. However, you are your employer, so you could put employer contributions in. That's if you have more than the $19,500 limit to contribute. I hadn't thought about your RUclips earnings being self-employment too.

It’s just so relaxing to hear someone speaking in a non-loud, dramatic manner. I subscribed because of this video, and your content isn’t lewd like a lot of the other stuff I've seen.
I love the last few minutes, too right. Fabulous points Mary, certainly points to live by! 🥰
Great video. You really are a wonderful human being. Thank you for sharing all of this. I am going to have my 16 yrld step daughter listen to this. She loves asmr but there is a great lesson in this video as well.
Thank you so much!
Yay! Favorite video style!! You are such an inspiration. Love your commitment to being your best self no matter what. 💪🏽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Took me 4 nights to get through this video cause I kept falling asleep but yes I found this so interesting!! Loved it.
This was such a fun journey! Also: has anyone ever told you that you resemble Lisa Kudrow? Especially with your hair longer!
Yes, I get that a lot!
She looks like Caroline from Vampire Diaries.
All I'm seaing is Diane Keaton!!
@@lrlavalais2068 THOSE WERE MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. It’s so freaky how we were seeing the same thing!
No, you look and talk just like my stepmom, Linda. 😅
Love these kinds of videos. Don't get the ASMR tingles but calm me so much just rambling about life stuff.
This was lovely to listen to. Thank you Mary ☺️
i don’t know if you already have a video like this but i’d love to see a life advice video :)
Mary, I could tell you were an intelligent person👍 I love to hear your stories. It reminded me of the many jobs I've had in my life. My Grandson likes when I talk about them. He laughs. Lol
These are my favorite kind of videos you make :) thank you for uploading .
Mary can you talk about your stalker experience? If not it’s totally fine if your uncomfortable!!
Brittany Ruiz I would assume that is something she wants to move past and not speak on just out of safety for her and her family!
Lol
This was so interesting, I absorbed every word like a sponge🤔🤓
I could listen to you for hours ❤
Im 25 and have worked over 6 jobs before landing my full time career in home building that im in now. Yeah, i stuggled thru most of them but you gain endurance to dealing with shit that the world throws at you.
Its 4:14am I haven't had no sleep.. School is in 2 hours.. 😫
Wow I know the pain of not sleeping and having to perform at work and focus. Hopefully you get a quick power nap at lunch!
I love your pfp and your username lol Leo is hot
@@Chanel_babee yes!! Aha 🤣🤣
Put your phone away
@@bandbporter I have a obsession with my phone lol
Your asmr vioce >>>>>> literally Every thing else
interesting!
What a wonderful video. Kept falling asleep mid-video but finally finished it the 5th time round😂 excellent advice there at the end👌hope you're having a great day💖
Mary!! You should totally do a parody of Meryl Streep from The Devil Wears Prada! You’d be so awesome at it!! Not even sure you’ll see this but it just popped in my head with all of your other characters! 😆
I’m from North Carolina too!! Good video! 🔥
This is so cool! Your job history sounds so fun and filled with so much knowledge
Mary, your Food Lion experience is similar to my Starbucks experience! Glad you got out of there. You deserve better. Another awesome video - thanks!!
I'm surprised hand model wasn't one of those many jobs. And btw, that ring is killer!!
This video doubles as a resume Mary 🤣
I swear I love how you tell your stories. You are so interesting! So exactly how many degrees do you have?! How did you manage to study and work that much and actually make it? Wow! You must be very smart. And you are so wise! Excellent advise for young people.
Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us.
I’ve been genuinely curious since you told us you lost your job of a long time! So glad you’re doing well! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness I’m really early!! I love you and your videos Mary!! Keep up the hard work!🤩❤️❤️🥰
Just been woke up by my very loud meowing calico Holly and I’ve got to be up for my job in 3 hours. How did you know??? Lol 😂 so intuitive to our needs always perfectly timed!! BTW more shocked by you saying your 46! My goodness, I thought you were my age of 36! That thorough skincare regimen must be doing the trick!! Thanks for another well timed video even at 4am GMT xx
Mary are any of your books published? Would love to have a read
I recall her saying she didn’t want to go through the publishing process so she didn’t bother.. so sadly i don’t think so.
Kacie James maybe one day!
No, but maybe one day. It's a huge process and not easy to do. Most books are never published.
Just the Right video we needed... Might be rambling but this is the right kind!
I love this video! Thank you Mary! So interesting 🐻💙✨
Mary, can you please do video's like your older ones? I SO enjoy the cleaning caboutle one. I go back to it every night.💓
Yeah my first job at a Pizza Hut paid me 5.15/hr lol. It sounds to me that you’ve worked your hine end off. I hope RUclips has treated you well and that you’re happy. Hard work pays off and this platform is an example of your work ethic. Kids need to pay attention to this. Aside from your job, you sell items on EBay, you do RUclips, and you shop at thrift stores to save money. Why nobody has slapped a ring on that finger is beyond me.
Been 4 days and I’m still trying to make it though this one 💤 😆 someday!
It was so interesting hearing about your job history. Thanks for sharing!
LOL my first car was a 1972 Ford Maverick. Got that when i was in high school MANY years ago😅. Oh and i have had every car problem you could ever dream of. My favorite car is a BMW. LOVE those cars.
Oh, Mavericks! My dad bought my mom a used Maverick at a car auction when I was a kid. It was such a piece of garbage! It broke down constantly!
It’s kind of cool how people could get factory jobs before.. now everything is automated.
You can still get some factory jobs around central NC, but yeah, not like before. That's the price we pay for cheap goods.
Love the beachy hair! You look so good!
