    My parents went to Malaysia last year and they said Malaysia was a food emporium. Food stalls, street food, exotic fruits and restaurants everywhere with various flavours. Meals are cheap too by North American standards.

    I know many have said this before but I truly respect and appreciate Mark covering Malay cuisines in his Malaysia series. Most people just stick to Jalan Alor, Malacca, Penang...most of the time they don't even try ANY Malay cuisines which is a big lost because it is after all MALAYsia.

      Yes, you right...chinese and indian foods can get all around the world....they should try to eats Malay foods...Malaysia have many places to get good foods not just KL and Penang...

      @@khairulazhar8118 Exactly. Even if they don't have time to venture out of KL, there are quite a number of delicious Malay food in KL itself. Heck, I think even a simple nasi kukus ayam goreng rempah would impress a lot of tourist.

    Have you ever loved a country so much, but you haven't even been there yet? That's Malaysia for me! Every video I see of Malaysia's beauty, culture and food makes me yearn to go there.     Mark's doing a great job promoting Malaysia especially Malaysian cuisine to the world. Tourism Malaysia should give him an award and appoint him as a travel ambassador since he is famous and his video are watch by millions across the globe.
    I'm sure many foreigners are eager to try tempoyak after watching Mark's video. Hope the price of tempoyak will not skyrocket!!

    I'm half Malaysian, my grandmother passed last year. She used to make us Malaysian food. I have never been to Malaysia before. When I watch these Malaysian episodes, It makes me miss her and her delicious food. One day I will visit my relatives who i have never seen and known in Malaysia. Thank you, i enjoyed every second of the video.

      Actually I prefer east javanese foods, which is more salty, umami, and spicy tgan central java's foods. But for tempoyak, I think it is a really weird combination. I'll never eat durian with rice, because it's not used to.

      I'm from Javanese too, from Central Java, I'm prefer lil bit spicy or maybe hot like sambal

    I am a Malaysian and a Malaysian food hunter. Even I have not been to the places that Mark has been. Mark has eaten food that I have not. I admire his willingness to travel into rural areas in search of great food. And he has asked the right guys to be his guide.     Really liked how you changed your traditional start to include the place before the face. Of course, you are the reason we are watching, but beginning with the place adds honor. The dripping water and water sounds added a lot of atmosphere to the wonderful, colorful foods and most friendly people. I was listening and looking for the price at the resort. I assume it was provided when no price is given. You could always as what it would have been so that you are consistent and honest.

    The spicy food in the rainy weather taste so good especially prepared by loving hands. Reminds me of mom when she used to cook and we would stand beside her to taste the food Miss those days. The expression on Marks face is just one of pure enjoyment of the meal

      Hope ull not misunderstood.. Tempoyak which is fermented durian is different taste compare to the durian fruit itself.. But we love both so much...

    My Father was a prison warden in Singapore in the early 70s and we had this tree just 5mins from out flat. I remember plucking fruits with my friends from the branches when I was 10 and it brings back so much of gr8 memories.. also I’ve always wondered what the fruit was called.. thank you 🙏🏼

    There are so many durians in Malaysia and Southeast Asia countries, the same as korean miso Gochujang. that means Durian is malaysian Miso :)

      강북 미식회 not true. Tempoyak is not very very commonly eaten. It is a treat. Durian is not as cheap to make as miso or gochujang.

      Dia datang Thailand untuk mengajar(tak silap),kemudian Bini dia,Ying,adalah pelajar dia.Nak di jadikan cerita,Ying suka Mark,Mark pun suka Ying.Ying pon tahu Mark suka makan pedas & masam.Mark memang tak suka makanan yang manis sangat.Itu yang Mark start duduk kat Thailand lepas dia kahwin.

    I am not durian lover but i love tempoyak. Thank you mark for coming to terengganu, my lovely hometown. I always believe, if you want to try a delicious food, friendly people, great atmosphere, you should come to east coast of Peninsular Malaysia like pahang, terengganu and kelantan. There's a sea, an island, it's gonna be a great vacation.You should Sabah and Sarawak next! How i miss sarawak so much right now 😄

    We also have that Belimbing Buluh or Kamyas, Fermented Anchovy Sauce (served in a same way with chilis and lime), the Green long veggie or Sigarillas here in Philippines. Sooo good!
