As a kid in the 90s I hated on Crocs for looking so ugly. As an adult I have a pair and love them, super comfy, about as easy to slip on as sandles, and can serve as house shoes while being sturdy enough to wear outside if I really need to go somewhere quickly. After a certain point you just stop caring if something is ugly,, what matters is "Does it work?" and "Is it comfortable?"
Crocks are in line with sweatpants or jogging pants there for me. I don't consider them proper trousers and you shouldn't wear them if you seriously go outside (except for if you're ACTUALLY go jogging). But I know there are lot's of people that think otherwise. It's fine.

Crocs may be expensive, and ugly (though you CAN get Crocs that don't look like Crocs) But they are DURABLE, I have a pair that I've been wearing for over 12 _YEARS,_ and they're no uglier than the day I bought them and if anything they are even MORE comfortable having shaped themselves to my feet
