I have both boots and have used them both once. Off of the first use it's really hard to put both of them in the same category despite them both being a leather boot. I feel both are equally as fantastic but it's going to come down to personal preference, the copa feels like you're almost playing barefoot, you can feel the ball with your feet through the upper whereas the tiempos has a much more padded feel to the point that at least I wasn't able to feel the ball with my foot. The quality of the leather on both are excellent, the copa having more of a sleek slippery leather and the tiempos feel thicker almost grippier. With that being said I would have to give a slight edge to the tiempos just because I prefer more of the classic thicker feeling leather, and also the memory inserts feel amazing when kicking the ball. However you can't go wrong with either one of these!
How is the copa in sizing because I have the tiempo pro in 8.5 but I can't play in them they are to tight (my left foot is slightly longer than my right one) but I have the adidas predator freak .1 and they fit perfect. Just wondering if I should get the copa pure in a size 9.
@@chells1748 I have both the copa and tiempos in a size 10 and they fit me just fine although I did notice the copa have slightly more space in the toebox area but not enough to go up half a size at least for me. I have the elites though so I don't know if the sizing would differ from the pro's but I don't think it does since Josh has all these cleats in a size 9.5.
For anyone who cares I tried the .3s today in a store. Overall they're not really soft out of the box, the upper and especially the sole plate. They fit really nice trough the midfoot and heel , and they have a nicely padded heel liner. Atleast for me the toe box is wider and I had a bunch of space on the sides.

The Copa 17.1 was a U-throat traditional lacing system and the Copa 18.1 was the one piece you are thinking of. What are your thoughts on the New Copa Gloros??
Hey Josh, how would you rate this against the MIJ morelia neo 3 (non beta)? Or the Elite non beta model if you've tried that. Coming from vapor 12 elites and would like to maintain a similar fit / lockdown but get a more comfortable boot
Neo 3s are a step above compared to these, as good as the copa pure are. You're also buying the Mizuno MIJ durability, in addition to quality. I know you said non beta, but it might be a worth a look if the Vapor 12s have been working for you
If you can find a Vapor 14 or Superfly 8 Elite it will be the closest thing to a Vapor 12. Having extensive experience in both MV12 and MV14. I can say the MV14 has both a softer upper and is a touch bit roomier. The break in process was brief, when compared to the Vapor 12 and 13. The lockdown is still the best in business. The fit is as good as any Mercurial, very high quality feel. If you liked the Vapor 12 good chance the Vapor 14 will appease you. They are getting scarce now, if you can find a good deal on one don’t hesitate. I’ve been wearing the MV14s these last 2 years over multiple pairs, they have become a favorite of mine. The Puma Ultra 1.3 or 1.4 are also viable options. They are mesmerizingly super lightweight and very thin. Very hardcore and to the edge feel. They are on the narrower side as far as fit goes. The lockdown is excellent.
Thinking about picking these up a 1/2 size small. Will they stretch similar to the original copa or less so? I usually where 11.5 in nike vapor, 11 in mizuno, and 10 or 10.5 in original copa.
went to my local shop today set on tiempo legend elite 9’s after a few wks of research. i’ve always worn leather boots and i’ve been wearing legend 6’s for years. tried the copa pure’s on just for fun and ended up loving the feel more so than the tiempos. the new tiempos make u feel so distant from the ball due to all the padding and it took away from the leather experience for me. meanwhile, the copa pure’s gave you the leather feel but in a sleekness and responsiveness that felt just right. almost like they’d been broken in already. also didnt notice the switch to fusion skin throught and the touch felt the same across the whole boot. only complaint is how tight the toe box is to start but being leather, im sure they’ll soften and stretch fairly soon
I don't think there's much that separates one SG stud pattern from the next. Just having the extra long studs is what makes them work on soft ground. With that said, the Anti-Clog soleplate tech Nike has does legitimately work in keeping mud from sticking to the bottom of your feet, which will definitely make for more consistent traction on a muddy pitch.
not sure why adidas decided to put the fusion skin down the inside third of the toe box/frontal inside area, instead of going with leather... that's an imp part of the boot, and the leather offers significantly better touch/feel than the fusion skin... otherwise a v solid boot, and the leather is super nice, but that was a dealbreaker for me with what's offered by the morelia neos
It’s a pity no boots are made which are actually foot shaped. No chance of plant foot properly, big toe gets pushed in, so you can never use your feet properly…and they are pretty uncomfortable. Go on big brands…make a barefoot Astro or grass boot!
