I aslo play the bass clarinet and the clarinet. I love this piece on the bass because it is challenging but possible. I absolutely hate it on the clarinet though especially playing at first clarinet.
This is a very pleasant band number. Not too difficult, so high school bands can do well with it. I played it years and years ago, but it still very much enjoy hearing it.
We've been looking at this piece in my High School band and every time I hear it, I am reminded of an old Audrey Hepburn movie. I suppose it's just the stile but it really feels like it needs a romantic dance to go along with it. Great piece, I especially love how the melody is played by so many different instruments during the piece(I play a bass clarinet and life can become a bit boring when you're on a bass instrument).
@Marvelousmissmegs I play the Bass Clarinet as well, and this will be my third year playing Beguine. Isn't it just wonderful to play on the Bass Clarinet? I love this piece more every time we play it, and it reminds me of the great memories of high school, since we always play it at the end of the year.
Once again movie maker made the movie longer then I needed it to be. I went back and checked the file it would end when the song ends and the title should end before that
