Little girls should never be alone is the moral of the story. Which goes to show that human trafficking/forced prostitution has always been a problem for humans. Don't leave your kids alone, keep them close and safe. P.S.- This story is actually a werewolf story, too. For wolves were seen as a symbol of evil in Europe.
I remember the story going like this She brings biscuits for her grandmother Wolf eats grandma and pretends to be her Red riding hood enters Wolf eats her too The wolf is to fat and pukes them up And they were both still alive Happy ever after
That was a great telling of this classic story. I had never before heard/read the extended version of Red Riding Hood's second journey to Grandma's house. So, bonus. 😲👍😊
What a meaningfull story. Behind the kindness and happy ending in the children version, there's a depper and darker story related on real life. The wolf as a predator and dangerous men around the world. Little red riding hood as the innocent victim who don't know anything and the Grandma who is also a victim. Nothing of that could happen if Little red's mother not sending her to Grandma house alone. Little red's mother know the dangerous of that forest and still sending her daughter alone? I guess there's a hidden reason behind it. Still the moral of story is to be carefull of strange person, especially to a person who ask you to go to a strange places.
The story was meant to warn young girls of growing up too fast. These were wolves ( men ) whom would devour these young girl's innocence. The lesson to this story is don't grow up too fast.
I always amazes me how terrible parents are in these old fairytales! Red’s mom sends this little girl on a dangerous journey to take care of her sick grandmother who lived all by herself in a wolf infested forest! Seems to me that the whole ordeal could have been avoided if they just invited the sick grandma to live with them.
I equally love Charles Perrrault's version of Red Riding Hood and the Grimm Brothers' version of Little Red Cap, just as long as both have happy endings.
Most of the Fairy Tales gave a twisted shocking parts, that I never saw coming. Even how Red and her Grandmother been swallowed by the wolf. If I couldn't watch "Tales from the Crypt" as a kid, then these fairy tales would've been similar. Only in other versions I have seen and enjoyed. I hope there's a story you'll do of "Hansel & Gretel", "Cinderella", "Rumpelstiltskin" "Sleeping Beauty" or "Rapunzel" soon. 😊
A really cool version of this story is The Girl In Red by Christina Henry. It is a sci-fi adaptation set during a pandemic. Don't want to reveal too much, so read if you get a chance!
It is man's version of a parable from the scriptures. The devil is the wolf, the tempter. Satan always comes in disguise, pretending to be your friend. Psalms 12:6 6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
This isn’t the original story? As far as I’m aware the actual original story ENDS with Red getting devoured. The woodsman saving her and all that stuff with happily ever after was added to make it more child friendly
Little red riding hood was walking through the forest, when she heard a rustling in the bushes, “ who’s there?, who’s there? Is that the big bad wolf? Rustling stops, she walks on another fifty paces, she hears the rustling again, “who’s there? Who’s there? Is that the big bad wolf?” the rustling stops, again she walks on fifty paces and hears the rustling again, “ who’s there, who’s there, is that the big bad wolf, an angry voice comes back, “ yes it is, now will you fuck off , I’m trying to have a shit!!
In Czech Republic, we often tell the version, in which the wolf is thirsty and when he wants to drink from a pond, the stones roll inside him, he falls into the water and drowns.
In darker versions the wolf convinces red riding hood to eat her grandmother’s remains which are her blood , teeth and her flesh . The poor little girl thought her grandma’s teeth for rice , her flesh for steak and her blood for wine and eventually sleeps with the wolf and gets eaten. 😢
So the Big Bad Wolf in Charles Perrault's Red Riding Hood Fairy Tale, the Grimm Brothers' Little Red Cap Fairy Tale, and The Sleeping Beauty in the Woods Ballet is actually a werewolf.
Appreciate the storytelling and the various pics, not a fan of 'this represents x' however as that is subject to interpretation (and often represents many things in a given culture and time period).
Filling up the wolves stomach with stones so it can't run away and waiting for it to wake up before killing it? You call that an innocent child? Blimey, that is horrific. That is a proper R rated child right there.
I like to see the closest to original story and then the different versions through the years. But the original stories are always better than the denatured modern versions. More meat to the stories. I saw a different version of little red riding hood that was French I believe. It was called "Little Golden Cap" and the cap was magic. When the wolf went to eat the little girl by biting her head the golden Cap burned the wolf's mouth and it killed him. The story was in an old book belonging to my grandmother, (I'm a grandmother many times over now myself). The book disappeared over the years.
Children story books ruined fairytales for me... until I started reading the original versions! I didn't expect the ending to be that way... wow, no wonder why the story had gained tons of attention.

Too true. At that time there was a wolf attacking people in the woods and forest of France.
If she can't tell the difference of her grandmother and a wolf in grandma's clothes, she definitely shouldn't be going alone anywhere.
@@elderscrollsswimmer4833 this is like something from Looney Tunes. Which have made fun of this story countless times, too.
But in some cultures, wolves were thought to be worshipped similar to gods.
She's a female. It was literally created for these things.
Many people forget that fairy tales were not meant for children. I enjoyed the original versions
True
Actually they are, but not for the reasons people think, they are meant to teach children
I enjoyed the original version more.
I remember the story going like this
She brings biscuits for her grandmother
Wolf eats grandma and pretends to be her
Red riding hood enters
Wolf eats her too
The wolf is to fat and pukes them up
And they were both still alive
Happy ever after
But in the original why does grandma need wine?
Maybe she gets drunk lol
I've been chilling for a few hours now, just listening to you tell us these stories. Thanks so much!
Be sure to check out tonight's new episode, airing at 5:15 pm EST!
@@MythologyUnleashed I'm just about to make a sandwich and grab a can of Dr. Pepper and will be right there watching!!
I grew up with child's version but I now realise that it is a very sinister story indeed as the wolf was not just a regular wolf but a werewolf.
Note to child readers, never talk to strangers. They can prey on you like predators.
That was a great telling of this classic story. I had never before heard/read the extended version of Red Riding Hood's second journey to Grandma's house. So, bonus. 😲👍😊
LOL I’ve never even heard the original but it is better than the 1 for children that we know and love!

Not just dangerous men - a very specific type of man

Child abandonment was a thing, too, as the story of the two waifs in the wood shows
@@marieindia8116 So was the story of Hansel and Gretel.
The point is that predators exploit vulnerabilities.
Red: “What big ears you have”
Wolf: “All the better to hear your many criticisms with”
You are so good , keep the good work going
Well done! I thoroughly enjoyed the artwork.
That was one clever wolf! The wolves around my house never pull off such rouses.
I equally love Charles Perrrault's version of Red Riding Hood and the Grimm Brothers' version of Little Red Cap, just as long as both have happy endings.
I always wondered where the "riding" part came from? Bc in the original german version, her name is (roughly translated) "little red cape/hood"
The type of cloak that she's wearing is a riding hood, as it would have been worn during travel or "riding"!
@@MythologyUnleashed ahhh thx, that makes a lot of sense😅 idk how i never figured that out

I’m a girl of 10 years old and the original story of red riding hood really freaks me out
I’m using my grandfather’s phone
*You sure as hell haven't learned anything from the story, haven't you?*
The internet is not a safe place.
The intro made me subscribe
I have to admit; how was the huntsman able to skin the wolf’s stomach while the wolf asleep so easily? Sounds quite gruesome and risky to me

Can you do Hansel and Gretel next?
Can you cover Hansel and Gretal next?
There must be some mistake. Little Red Cap and Red Riding Hood would never ever purposely hurt or upset their own grandmothers.
Certainly not the version we hear growing up!
The real story
Ah yes that classic cure for illness… wine & cake 😂
This is what I was told since i was young
Little Red I knew had a razor and a gun. Never mess with her.
It is man's version of a parable from the scriptures. The devil is the wolf, the tempter. Satan always comes in disguise, pretending to be your friend.
Psalms 12:6

❤ the RED RIDING HOOD story.

I wonder what the mother was thinking to send a toddler in a scary ass looking forest💀
This isn’t the original story? As far as I’m aware the actual original story ENDS with Red getting devoured. The woodsman saving her and all that stuff with happily ever after was added to make it more child friendly
The wolf went full on Norman Bates with poor granny 😢
This is not the gruesome original. This is the version from Grimm, polished for children. I read this version as a small child.
Does the wolf represent a stranger?
Imagine how creepy talking sapient wolves would be
Little red riding hood was walking through the forest, when she heard a rustling in the bushes, “ who’s there?, who’s there? Is that the big bad wolf? Rustling stops, she walks on another fifty paces, she hears the rustling again, “who’s there? Who’s there? Little red: my grandmother, what big hands you have.
Wolf: all the better to squeeze you with, my dear😈.
So the Big Bad Wolf in Charles Perrault's Red Riding Hood Fairy Tale, the Grimm Brothers' Little Red Cap Fairy Tale, and The Sleeping Beauty in the Woods Ballet is actually a werewolf.
I also heard that the Wolf said he would eat her but he didn't.
Grandma got them good strong resilient genes 🧬
Why did they waste time putting stones in his stomach. The huntsman could have just skinned him like he did in the end. Lol.
I follow Dogman Encounters, Brenton Sawin and Scott Carpenter. Cryptids DO exist!
It's Young Goodman Brown.
So this is the origin story of woody and bigby.

How's that a wolf get its belly cut open with scissors without noticing?
What person would let a little kid going to a dark Forest

The morale of the story is the 2nd Amendment. Always bring a gun in the woods. 😂
❤
What another absurd rubbish. Little Red Cap and Red Riding Hood would never ever purposely throw their own clothes in the fire.
Same drago wolfaven even though Iam 8
What abt the one where she had to eat her grand, other
