On board AIDAprima we enjoy a cruise on the so-called Metropolis Route in August 2023! Starting from Hamburg, we visit Southampton in Great Britain, Le Havre in France, Zeebrugge in Belgium and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In this episode we explore Southampton on our own. First we visit the SeaCity Museum, famous for its extensive Titanic exhibition. There are some unique exhibits to see here and the close connection between the Titanic and Southampton is also impressively presented. We continue our excursion with a walk through the city's lush parks to the Solent Sky Aviation Museum. Here you can see a whole host of exciting exhibits on British aviation history. The highlight is certainly a two-storey flying boat that is completely accessible. But the history of Southampton as the production site of the famous Spitfire fighter in the Second World War is also vividly explained. Back on board we enjoy the evening sailing on the Solent before this eventful day ends with a delicious dinner at Ristorante Casa Nova. We hope you have fun watching!

Dankeschön. 🤗 Das hängt vor allem von euren persönlichen Bedürfnissen ab. Die Anfahrt nimmt schon einige Zeit in Anspruch, von daher bleibt einem gar nicht so viel Zeit in London, wie man vielleicht gerne hätte. Andererseits bekommt man auf so einem Ausflug die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten im Schnelldurchlauf auf dem Silbertablett serviert. Für uns wäre das eher kein Ausflug, weil wir meinen, dass man sich für eine Stadt wie London richtig Zeit nehmen sollte. Das wäre für uns dann entweder ein Ziel für einen reinen Städtetrip oder aber ein mehrtägiges Ziel für das Vor- oder Nachprogramm bei einer Kreuzfahrt ab Southampton. Da gibt es ja durchaus eine ganze Menge interessanter Reedereien und Routen, die ab Southampton entdeckt werden können. Andererseits kennen wir aber auch Leute, die die Reederei-Ausflüge nach London ganz prima fanden. Von daher würde ich sagen: Überlegt einfach mal, wie wichtig euch London ist bzw. wie tief ihr in die Stadt eintauchen wollt und entscheidet dann. Gruß Chris
Von Schiffshafen zum Titanic Museum wie weit ist das. Meine Frau kann nicht lange zu Fuß gehen leider. Beim Ausflügen muss ich immer an meine Frau denken. Außer sie bleibt an Bord da schaue ich schon nach was anderes.
Hallo, das hängt davon ab, an welchem Kreuzfahrtterminal euer Schiff liegt - Southampton hat nämlich gleich mehrere davon. Vom Ocean Terminal aus sind es etwa 1,5-2 Kilometer zu Fuß. Grundsätzlich ist das aber auch von den anderen Terminals ein Stück zum Laufen (siehe Google Maps), von daher würde ich euch ein Taxi empfehlen. Gruß Chris
