I am advanced in years now, and I see here, what I have avoided. I have already been through all of my treasures, kept what my family wants, and given the rest away. My family knows the story on each piece which we chose to keep for heirlooms. I went through this when my mother passed, going through the remains of her life and it was heartbreaking. Do NOT do this to your family...distribute your treasures while you are still here. It's obvious this lady lived a careful life, bless her heart.
That was wonderful to watch Robert, I love the old china plates and teapots but the conservatory porcelain seat is my favourite. The Thomas Beckett pewter piece came from Canterbury Cathedral I believe here in England he is a well known historical figure. So many wonderful things and I suspect the large rugs are woven like the smaller ones, they are expensive to buy so you have found another great unit sweetheart. God bless you all love and hugs to you and your lovely family Mary-Ellen UK
You know they cared about their things in hope of reclaiming them. Like you said outside boxes were bad, but everything in them was packed with pride of ownership.
Boy oh boy,,,,,,,,,you've hit a gold mine with this locker Rob.. Good luck itemizing all those dishes and tea pots. Beautiful , beautiful collection of treasures. Really enjoyed watching this unboxing.
It's crazy that we can't take nothing with u when our souls leave this earth...but people left behind can make use of it...it is all a good find... and marvelous how she took good care of it
Looks like she was a collector with nice 👍 taste. I liked the Chrystal the best. You might want to look through that change for collectors edition.People don't realize it.Look at wheat pennies. They also have books available to help you.
Wow, you sure have found some beautiful things with this unit Rob! The only down side of this one is she took such good care of everything i think her jewellery has been in a bank vault or similar.. take care until next time! x
Wow this is the first video I have seen of yours and I will not watch anymore. You only think money, money, money and have no thoughts about that poor woman who had her life packed very carefully away in that unit that you just tore through looking for MONEY. Oh what greed will do to you.
I wonder what the DATES are on the newspapers stuff is wrapped in? The little black disc might be a sort of stand to set a tiny vase or figurine on. Those might be (hand?) hooked rugs on burlap (traditional base for hooked rugs) probably wool. Beautiful ! A LOT of JAPANESE glassware. Wonder if the husband was stationed in Japan for a while? They really liked Tea Pots !
Reminds me of myself. I loved my potential heirlooms kids didn’t. Now giving them to stranger. All of her beloved belonging meant a lot to her. Makes me sad.
Yes, the positive is I am saving everything from the landfill and giving it a new life. These belongings will be cherish by someone who will appreciate them
I happen to come across your videos. I have watched two and I want to say that I appreciate that you don't have a foul mouth. Its got to where you can't find good clean vloggers anymore. Always have to have foul language or sexual content. I did subscribe and will watch more of your videos. THANK YOU!
Gr8 find's in this locker Rob.. That Japanese plant stand was very detailed and hand painted also the miniature tea pot was painted enamel very ornate.. Money ×3.. Stay safe all..👍💕🔥⚾😷
Hi Rob love your videos! After watching quite a while and waiting through toys, tools, trains finally something for me. Some of the China may not be worth a lot but some is very expensive and I'm looking forward to this auction. Great score!
Some people like things like that cardboard box with the vintage roses on it. So be careful with it. Seems like this lady was from Japan or perhaps her husband was in the service and was in Japan or they vacationed there. Lots of nice items from Japan. Those rugs at about 21:00 I believe are hooked, not woven.
Robert, please take the metal hangers off of the plates as they cause damage, I have seen that many times on the Atiques Roadshow UK and it knocks the value down badly.
Well that was a fantastic unit, all beautifully wrapped, packed, labeled and stacked then in comes Robert like a tornado :-) That was a nice trip down memory lane for me seeing the Sadlers, Johnsons, Spode etc, I was surprised when you pulled out the copper plant trough with the ceramic handles, copper and brass were very popular in the UK in the 70's & 80's they also made coal scuttles with those ceramic handles. My first job working 10 years in a shop selling all those makes and many more,my nerves are on edge watching you unpack the breakables, I know people are always telling you to wear gloves, but I'm more concerned with your lungs in those very dusty units, you can wash your hands but you can't wash your lungs.
Sadler teapot is expensive around $100. That box with the ceramics was valuable. Looks like she went into a small assisted living and someone packed her old apartment and put it into storage which was paid for until she passed away.
Crazy how we accumulate so much STUFF in our lives only for it all to be left behind in a lonely, dirty, dusty storage unit, for what? Can't take it with you. Jesus SAVES! Peace!
You found beautiful pieces of Chinese collectables I'm not a expert but it all looks expensive it's a shame that she didn't have family that would want those beautiful things glad you got the unit take care God bless you and your family 🙏🙏
Sometimes I wish you were around forty years ago when I use to collect allot of this stuff! I would have been your best customer. Now I’m downsizing but I do bid on some of your auctions. Just for things I can use and not collect. Just enough to scratch my itch! Lol!
money and gold is a normal thing people find lying around..... that is not the point that I click and subscribe on this channel..... there's a lot more videos on this RUclips where people could visit... but, what's really caught my eye on this kind of channel is those classic and vintage goodies... oh, man.... couldn't get luckier than that.... 😊😊😊😊
Rob I'm happy for you the locker has been awesome. Somebody took pride in what they had it's to bad they lost it. You will get everything rehomed to a person that will care just as much for it.
I came across your channel...I get the whole business end of all this. But the thought of nobody ever coming back for a lot of their family's collectibles n all the memories lost. I find it very sad. This woman took very good care n valued her belongings...😩 Do you ever try to contact a family member to get their families stuff n pay the bill?
women may collect jewelry boxes its like whats in the box? decorating feminine style. some are hand made yeah they collect those. mikasa means mother in japanese. toille plates are feminine style, too maybe. the set seems decorative patterning style. our shed doorknov was broke - theyre all broke knobs overthere on the sheds. we just moved everything out of the 2nd shed to the 1st one. with the broke doorknob it had no lock. japan makes a- lot of art decorating products thats higher quality now.

I had 52 teapots at one time. Loved those things. I used everyone of those, one every week.

I would love to see a follow up on what you actually got for those pieces because some of them look pretty valuable!
Whomever owned this took a great deal of pride on her belongings.

The big red and white squarish china thing you said was a plant stand is really a heater for your feet, you make a little fire in it.
Awesome unit! Loads of really nice items. You should definitely make your money back and then some!
The gifts that keep on giving! What a great buy!

Wow. What amazing finds …
I love the collection of boxes. Treasures from Japan!
They apparently travelled. That pilgrim's token is still being sold. Pewter. For sale for 20 pounds. That one looks more like silver.
Robert, please take the metal hangers off of the plates as they cause damage, I have seen that many times on the Atiques Roadshow UK and it knocks the value down badly.
those plates are so pretty for displaying.

What happened to the rugs?
If you look at the dates on the newspapers youll have an idea of how long they been wrapped and stored
I love all the pottery things. When are they up for sale?

Whoever packed up her belongings took everything worth big money.

Those white tiles were probably coasters
We all watch and ask......................did you make money lose money or break even ?
To bad you Are so willing to sell something for 5 when it could be worth hundreds
I don't sell anything outright, I put it up in my well advertised international auction and let the people decide what it's worth. Www.2ndcents.com
Love that comforter it going on Auction
