  • Welcome to a video series on learning Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, or SWADE, and in this video we’ll be looking at some basic rules and game mechanics.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be uploading new videos that’ll also explore everything from character creation, to combat, to understanding all the various options and genres available to gamemasters in starting a new campaign. Videos will be as to the point as possible, following the same concept design as Savage Worlds - simple, fast and fun!
I hope you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. I know what I find helpful are the various tools and assets I use in my game. To be part of a fantastic community on Facebook, please join the Official Savage Worlds Facebook Group. Everyone is friendly and there is always terrific advice being shared:

I’ve listed the artists, designers and companies below:
The Savage Worlds Adventure Edition Core Rules and many companion books and accessories are all available at: www.peginc.com/
I use the Foundry Virtual Table Top found here: foundryvtt.com/
My various games are all hosted on The Forge: forge-vtt.com/
I LOVE MAPS AND ASSETS! My favourites are made by...
Greg Bruni - I only use "top-down tokens" and the very best are made by Greg for fantasy, pulp, westers, historical, science-fiction and more!
    www.gregbrunic...
Gabriel Pickard - incredible terrain maps for every genre! marketplace.ro...
Tom Cartos - terrific maps, top down tokens and wonderful assets to populate your online environments!
    www.tomcartos....
Kidney Boy - His "Main Street" and "Alley" maps are featured in this video, I love his encounter maps for TTRPG's from genres that include modern, horror, pulp, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic and superhero settings!
    / kidneyboy
LOVEMAPS Cthulhu - these beautiful maps and vehicles for the Lovecraft universe are truly a labour of love and many have found their way into my 1930's pulp campaign adventures!

@@GameMasterLee If I could say anything is kind of confusing in the Adventurer's Guide, it would be how you mark down and consistently apply Trappings with Powers. I seemingly must have missed something, because I find that there's a disconnect between adding a system that works off of written details, but then doesn't give you somewhere to write said details.

Well put together! Luckily it's with a voice-over, because I'd noticed a common misspeak: While Wild Cards can take three Wounds without becoming Incapacitated, while Extras can take zero Wounds. Or looking at it the other way, WCs can take four Wounds before becoming Incapacitated, Extras can take one before Incapacitation.

    • @GameMasterLee

I’m not sure how you look at it another way. The rule book clearly states: WC can three wounds before they’re incapacitated. They can still function. Upon the fourth wound they become incapacitated.

“Monsters/bad guys” ought have one number…at most two or three….
OD&D and/or B/X D&D or RISUS or FF…. It would already be done before all this extra stuff.
It’s bizarre the game pretends to be “fast” (at least) but I could have the same combat ten times over in other systems before a single (confusing ONE) in SW. 😕 🤷‍♂️

    • @GameMasterLee

You might want to take your opinion with a bit of a grain of salt, for one thing this is entirely new and secondly, you should really give it a try. It’s a bit of a paradigm shift because savage world isn’t a game of attrition like many other RPG‘s. But at the end of the day, what matters is finding the game system that works for you. Not about which system is best it’s about which system is best for the player.
