YOU'RE RIGHT, Mr. Villa, it's darker and *GLOWS* !!! Lord knows what has already happened with us humans and our anthropological inclination on preferring everything that shines
@@LUCPIX YES! I wonder why they just scrapped it completely. Also, the fact that it flickered based on the part of the brain that was being stimulated... we really do prefer everything that shines.
to think, they maybe could have gone "Age of Empires" on all the Objects and Sims, having Inbaked Shadows. like a Animation that Produces a Basic Dynamic Shadow under the Sim, or a Sprite with Baked in Shadows. nothing fancy, just not a Disc unless people picked "Low"
I mean yeah they kinda looked like they came straight from space quest (which fun fact I learned from game over compilations on RUclips) but that they are also monkeys (I am sorry for anyone who will say that this is raciest but early Sims 1 sims really do look like Space quest moneys to me)
It looks like that era of development used a similar, if not the same, engine as SimTown. The Project X GUI heavily reminded me of that old Maxis game.
I remember watching the intro that was in sims 1 and seeing all the objects that were cut and thinking they were unlock-able somehow hahahah
Seeing the intro always pumped me up
pretty sure there were no cut objects in the intro.

ik that oval-shaped tv stand? one can only dream
the music is like an off-key tomb raider 1 song and i cant stop hearing the original theme
Love it, old SimCity music!
I believe the song is called Concrete Jungle and it’s from Simcity 3000. It was my favorite theme.
2:03 There is it. The upside-down head was in the beta version. It remained in shape like dummy files. Shit fucking scary
2:21 This UI is Gold
I still kinda want the brain UI, I think it was pretty good

Is amazing how technology can change over the years
History indeed
I love your channel and everything you post. It's always so interesting to see, thank you so much.
Looks a bit rough compared to the final version in the begging in 1997 and 1998 oh my
Characters models are something out of Windows 3D Movie Maker.
This video deserves more views ^__^
Omg I love this!!
Great selection of alpha and beta content
No one asked for the track to go that hard 😫
Oh wow, I have never seen any of these before.
Omg i wanna play beta verion!
version
I wish these would leak someday like the Nintendo gigaleak, so many skins and objects that didn't make it into the game...
I remember playing sims for the first time, it was scry af, nightmare fuel, but so so fun.
OMG the ugliness of Project X! 1995? I would have guessed 1985! And the earliest images of the Sims were sooo ugly too, almost scary in fact! 😨

On the plus side you can technically say Sims is pro evaluation. XD
