    Hi
    I am using 2 Nema 17 motors and using them to run a robot over a transmission wire while holding a weight of around 2 Kg...
    But today it didn't rotate well... It stopped and was stuck..
    I think it's because I used 9V batteries lol... Will using a 12V big Lipo battery which can give upto like 10A and all make a difference.. Thanks...

    Is there a difference between holding torque in specs and the output torque of a stepper motor?

    Can i replace 6 wire one in place of 4 wire ?
    Can i use two different type( torque and radian ) of stepper motor in one CNC ?

    technically you measured holding torque not just a torque but both should be proportional , but it also scales with voltage, so this might be why your measured resoults are bit smaller than predicted
    but stillpairing 2 identical stappers could increase the actual torque even further
    fun thing with stepper motors is they can be assembled like any resisiyve load, so you could drive 2 of them in series if you double the voltage or 2 in paralell if you increase the current
    but nothing stoping you to drive 4 motors in 2 pairs of series connected motors hooked up in paralell and use just one driver, because driver don't care it would just be 4 times bigger motor for it
    you could also drive each separately by cloning the stearing wires
    the thing is connecting cheap used ebay motors like you did is a great way to improve your machine, especially if motors have shafts on both ends and the bigger torque the stiffer your machine and harder material it can cut, but you also need a siutable frame to hold it

    Bro i want to pull/drag sliding gate. needs force upto 25 kgs to make it start moving. So a stepper motor has ability tu drag it .????? Big model?

    • @TnInventor

      You need an ac motor with gears for that. Have a look at washing machine motors and try to fit a gear with a speed reduction ration . Its not easy to make but it can be done

    Is Using power supply of 24V and 3A suggested for 3 stepper motors?

    • @TnInventor
      @TnInventor  3 года назад +1

      it is , you see when you use higher voltage you will need less current , its better to run the motor cool as more current induces more more heat . for a nema 17 at 2.8 Volts it will consumes 1.68 Amps so do the math and you will figure how much they will consumes at 24 v , you are safe to go my friend . and best of luck

      @@TnInventor so when does 3A matter? What I mean is I had this perception in mind that if I am using 24V 3A then 3A current might flow....also I am using l298N as stepper driver, is it fine in regards to power supply I am using??

    • @TnInventor
      @TnInventor  3 года назад +1

      Ah . No no you see motors only draw the current they need . If you have 10 A capable power suplly and they only need 10 ma they will only consumes 10 ma .

    Can I lift 5kg router with 4kg cm torque and thread rod like nut and bolt 🔩.
    Also can I make 6 x 4 feet cnc machine for wood carving with nema 17 stepper motor with 4kg cm torque??
    Also I am using arduino cnc shild

    • @TnInventor
      @TnInventor  3 года назад

      I dont think you can lift that 5 kg . But 1 kg is fine .
      You can make the wood carving machine but you need it to be stiff . And you will have to move slow. Use nema 23 with belt driven system. Like the shepoko machine from carbide 3d

      I switched my Nema24 4.2A 3.1Nm to Nema17 2A 0.4Nm on a 4x4 machine (steel and aluminum profiles, belt driven, no gear) just for the test some time ago. The small motors had no issues with moving the gantry with very high speed, but once you start, the load from the spindle cutting is big and you have to reduce significantly the speed and the depth of cut. It can be done, but it's not worth it, the price difference is too small to be considered.
