A well-stocked tool roll. Thanks for explaining the smooth sharp edge for woodcarving. I started to use the rougher edge per your and Blackie's suggestions. We an all learn from each other. I knew the man Richard (and his son) who created the Flex-Cut Tools, they used to come to our carving club and shows. When he showed me the Carving Jack, I must say I wasn't impressed, he was disappointed in my response. We all have our own preferences and often limited money. I do use a few of his tools, because they work well. I still prefer my dedicated carving tools and knives.
Great looking kit thanks a bunch for sharing it with us! Hope you and yours have an amazing rest of the week! Cheers, Kimmers and Jerbs #BEUP #DSKFS #neverquitquitting #22ADay #22ADaynomore #BEUP #DSKFS #NEVERQUITQUITTING #22ADay 👍🏼🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I currently am building my kit since I was at camp. I have the kit almost put together except the tool roll. I am finishing up the kit and going to test my dexterity with a try stick and my existing tools. Thanks for sharing brother!
That is a well thought out tool roll. I have a roll with a selection of flexcut carving knives but never thought about making a kit like this. I have come to the same conclusion that polished is great for carving, but it's toothy for everything else. I look at it this way, polished for push cuts, toothy for slicing.
Nice setup. I have a couple of those Tool rolls I grabbed mine at DLT don't know if they still carry them but they are great. Polished or Toothy ya gotta love the debate lol. Personally, all my outdoor camping, Hunting, etc are toothy edges, and my whittling knives and all my Kitchen knives are very highly polished at least thats what works for me. Thanks for showing your setup. It looks like a winner to me.
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy the “show and tell” videos you put out on the kit you have and use.
Very cool kit. I love modular designs where everything is in one place 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
That Flexcut pocket jack is where its at!! Totally helped transform my carving ✊️🔥✌️💚
Nice setup, that’s a great idea
More and more I find myself thinking about trying to learn to do some carving.

Notice I still had a carving fixed blade and a spoon knife in the kit. 😁 carving jack is a good option when you don’t have a full kit.
the mad knife wizard strikes again lol

Awesome, glad I could help.
Nice kit!
Kiridashi is the term for the japanese carving knife. Its more of a “utility knife” for them. Nice kit you got there William.
