The strangest thing is that, this can apply to the entire Imperium. The Gaurdsmen who fight on the surface, holding lines for eternally, the Astartes, fighting to the death for the preservation of humanity, to Custodes, and even the most mundane life. All of it fits in this song.
This makes me think this is what the imperium is about it’s about screaming at the void and saying NO FURTHER, it’s about staring death in the face and SPITING IN IT, its about the indomitable will of humanity it about humanity uniting as one to tell a galaxy that wants nothing but to exterminate us YOU FRIST

This GMV is the reason 40k pulled my interest in it's universe and storyline.
Oh for me it was amen and attack black templars
for me it was i found some ppl talking about the lore and randomly discovering books
This 13th black crusade has my favorite story line in all Warhammer 40k. Fall of cadia. The planet cracked and the cadia guardsman still fought. The brave fleet who went into battle too.
Those impressive shots of naval battle lines (my favourite being at 3:00) only get better when you realise that almost all of the mainline ships are big enough to dwarf Star Destroyers.
But there’s something sad about seeing them flying before they engage.
Like big solemn cathedrals flying into hell, knowing they are going to die before their cannons furiously roar. Defiance as they fulfil their duty and the violence begins.

That very much depends on the size of the Star Destroyer. An average Star destroyer will actually mass more than an Imperial Ship of equal length, simply by its design (wedge vs line), and they are actually of about equal length to Imperial Cruisers. Only the big capital ships, like the dreadnoughts, outsize an old star destroyer, but Super Star Destroyers dwarf them in all respects. Snokes super ship in Star Wars Ep. 8 could probably carry a 40k dreadnought in one of its hangars. It can dock multiple star destroyers without an issue.

Yes I’m aware that the approx 19km Super Star Destroyer (Hate that name) is a sight bigger than the typically 12-14km Imperial Battleships.
Basic star destroyers reach up to one mile.
The average Imperial Cruiser is lowballing at 4km.
And there’s loads of them.
As for the hangars on that weird arse Mega Star Destroyer, they looked pretty normal sized, just plenty of them.
Also there are vessels like The Phalanx and The Rock that would dwarf both the SSD and MSD in turn.
Probably even be on par with a Death Star.
Also flying war cathedrals/Daemon ships look way better than grey pizza slices.
@@rustkarlWell, no, they won't match the Death Stars, which are also motile, and don't have quite the firepower of them... but I'd probably take a 40k ship for firepower over a Star Wars ship, all else being equal. Of course, nobody knows how effective Star Wars weapons actually are, if they aren't planet-killers...

People seem to laugh at the Imperium. All because of memes of Imperial Guard dying in horrific ways. Yet fail to realize how terrifying the Imperium can be when they show the full might.
In one of the Necron novels. On a Necron Tomb World dealing with a major Ork infestation. The Necron noticed the Orks acting strangely. They were running straight at their defenses and seemed to be running in terror.
Well, they looked up into space and saw what the cause was. A gigantic armada of Imperium Ships. Over 120 ships all of them in system and exterminating worlds infested with green skins.
The Necrons saw this and all collectively shit themselves. Robots shit themselves. They realized they were fucked and were going to die.
The Imperial Fleet made Robots scared of dying. And so you need to keep in mind. The Imperium is scary as fuck when looking at it from an outside viewpoint. The reason why Orks like fighting humies and generally all other races really do not want to start shit. Nids don't count...they see everything as Food anyway. And Chaos is full of bitches and will crash any party regardless. Professional Party Crashers.
