In this video I show how to install Teamviewer onto a Rasperry Pi Rasbian.
This is "Teamviewer Host" it will only allow other computers to connect to the Pi to control it for example where a RPI is being used to remote admin of or as part of a data control system, relay, video decoder, in store video display, h264 camera source, h264 encoder, etc etc, and especially id the RPI is being connected to a 4G modem, the list goes on ,
Set your password in the options menu and then you can control the pi from anywhere in the world.
This works on a Pi2 or newer. This was recorded using an RPI3.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
wget download.teamv...
sudo dpkg -i teamviewer-host_armhf.deb
sudo apt --fix-broken install
Text above in a google docs sheet :

If you are using the Raspberry Pi without a monitor, remember to set your screen resolution in the preferences menu and don't leave it on default, allowing the RPI to be used without a monitor attached.
It worked pretty well until here 1:33 , I didnt get the pop up and it says it couldn't open some files because I don't have the right to. It didn't ask me for the password tho, so I dont know how to fix it
Same Bro. How to solve?:/
@MrShooter165 look under advanced not security. They may have changed setup since video out 2 years ago.
The only video that worked in a week. Clear and to the point.
thanks for your video. I have installed Ok but the popup windows dows not apperece. where can I get on the aplication ?
Thanks, I have now started using ANYDESK on the pi, it actually seems a better option to use, easy to install , other people has problems installing teamviewer
I’m getting stuck at the pop up it won’t well pop up
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies
Nope ! Doesn't work...
Did you google the error, did you update and upgrade before install, what version of is and what version of pi are you running, I've never had an install failure so interested to see what the problem may be.. let me know..
Cheers for the video, worked a treat. Teamviewer have now put the personal password under advanced not security. Using it to connect directly to a pi at another site and this was an easy to follow video, got me setup in no time.
This did not work for me. I followed the same steps, but the installations are different and a window never pops up to start the teamviewer process.
It seems to work differently for different people. It's a couple of years old now the video
Everything works in this video for me except password setting. There is only easy access setting now. So there was another root user who already set admin password and it was not allowing me to give easy access. So I used terminal commands to set it up.
cool! thank u so muchhhh! may you always have a nice dayyy
the installation works well
but trying to get connected from PC to Raspberry PI fails
after I put the ID for connection, in the left hand side it shows connecting and it goes forever.
I don't know how to fix.
I checked the versions, for both of them it is the same.
I would be great if you can help
fixted?
thank you for the video, is there a way to use the Raspberry Pi as the guest? I want to use the Raspberry pi as a semi portable display for a computer I want to leave at home.
Is it possible?
@@JC-db6oy I don't think I ever got it to work. The PI didn't support it.
@@VitaliyDvorkin check this out ruclips.net/video/3wuOWnbCKZ8/видео.html but after you watch it, check the comment section about the security issues there's some tips how to add additional security. I think there's another option to remotely access using google check this video about that ruclips.net/video/VKibnU3Fqq4/видео.html. I dont have a pi right now and I really want to have one but if you have one please update me if these 2 videos work. Thanks!
@@JC-db6oy thank you so much 😊. I'll do my best to look into this soon, I haven't used the raspberry PI in a while, though I do have plans for it, and I will update you when I do. Raspberry pi is a great thing to have though, if you have a reason to, so find a reason and buy one. Canakit has a great starter kit you should check out. They start you out well!
Mine crashes at start up. do you know why?
thank you
Vielen Dank. Diese Anleitung hat mir sehr geholfen.
Thanks for sharing the video. I have installed teamviewer on my Raspberry Pi 4 but "Your ID" is not visible. Can you please suggest how can it be fixed? Thanks.
I haven't tried on an rpi4, I will give it a go and see, tried a reboot?
Ok, just tried on rpi4. Close the popup window after install, If you hover over the Team viewer taskbar icon you should see the ID as a tooltip next to the cursor, right click for security options to set password,
Thank you!!
great video. however, mine teamviwer installed does not allow to click anything on raspberry's desktop ((
How to install Teamviewer on Raspi Zero W. It is installing without errors and team viewer is detecting the Raspi but when it comes to password, we are unable to see the password
Missing you and your videos Andy, i hope we get to see something soon again! Take care until ❤
hello, does this one still work? if it does, what should I change in the command?
Thanks, really good video, worked on a Pi 400 with Twister OS
Dziękuję za bardzo czystą prezentacje. Super pozdrawiam
Is it the same process for orange pi?
I don't get any popup with the EULA and no teamvieuwer box has popped up
and getting this error:
grep: /opt/teamviewer/config/global.conf: Permission denied
thank you! Very helpful...
i need to controll windows from raspberry... :(
have you tried using tightvnc server on windows and use realvnc viewer on raspberry pi ?
www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer/raspberrypi/
Hi! Thank you for the tutorial. Can I instead control my windows10 pc from the teamviewer on raspberry pi?
Is it possible?
use parsec for that. works like a charm for me. the thing is they stopped giving attention to it so you're going to run into some problems at first, so what I recommend is that you install the latest one, and then switch some files with the files of some other older version, or just find an older version if you can
Cool. Could you think of a real-world application of this setup?
Remote access for Industrial Control, Educational Learning assistance, Broadcasting .. and especially id the RPI is being connected to a 4G modem, then completely mobile remote control, the list goes on ,
@@itsAndyFordhamwow, so interesting
@@itsAndyFordham especially if the 4g is GNAT, where it is impossible to have a public ip address. teamview comes handy :)
can i connect from raspberry to windows also?
Hi Andy.
Thanks. I was hopeful, but unfortunately the instructions (which installed Teamviewer 15.27.3) caused my RPi Zero 2W to lose the main OS-menu and killed the mouse. Fortunately I could SSH in and ran this command to fix:
sudo apt purge teamviewer-host
Would love to know if there is a way to get this working. If it's a hint, the final pop-up launching the program didn't work. When I started it with 'teamviewer' in the CLI, I got
Init...
CheckCPU: armv7l
Checking setup...
Launching TeamViewer ...
Launching TeamViewer GUI ...
Killed
this software is a killer it takes alot of PI3 cpu power and ram
