As of the Washington game, this is the closest Oregon has been to heathy since the beginning of the season. I see Oregon winning by more than people think. Oregon’s stats are based off of performances that are missing their best players.
Craig, I didn't like your show that much after Oregon joined the B1G, but you've grown on me 😂 Thanks for the love you give my beloved Ducks! All Josh Pate talks about is "Bama" and the SEC
Plus, Espn, Joel Klatt, cbs sports; Colin, etc...Oregon's brand just isn't big enough. It's a shame because Dillon Gabriel's transfer made me a ducks bandwagon fan.
Welcome to the Ducks. This is definitely a standout year where everything meshes well, behind Dillon Gabriel. First time I've felt we've had similar levels on all of offense, defense, and special teams. Strong in both running and receiving. Usually we have only a few of those at any time, and it's enough to get us close but never all the way. This year I think we have good-great on all of them. Hopefully we can covert that to a national title, but there's a lot of high level games yet to be played.
It will be a good game evenly matched in certain positions on both offense / defense, but the Ducks have more talent in their QB and receivers. Ducks cover and win 28 - 21.
Thanks Craig for a great show!!! Appreciate your solid analysis. As a looooong time fan of Oregon we are thrilled to be a part of the B1G!!! Looking forward to this match up with PSU. Should be a great game. Make no mistake Oregon wants to be the B1G Champion. Lanning will.have the boys ready to play!!!
@@the_flushjackson Yah know, I've been trying hard to "give credit where it's due", but this extremely obnoxious Oregon commenter @brutusvonmanhammer has gone nuts, so I need to stop.
Noah Whittington was actually ahead of Jordan James, on the depth chart until he went down with injury last season. He still isn’t 100% but when he is, he is the more productive back, which is crazy considering how good James is!
Your comment is the exact opposite of the truth. Noah Whittington is a liability to the team. He's a turnover waiting to happen. He goes down on first contact. He's thee most likely offensive player to screw up.
I have enjoyed the season. I liked the teams from the West Coast playing against teams from the Big Ten in all sports. Craig, I enjoy listening to your broadcasts eeryday. Keep up the good shows every day.
Nice show Craig. Always easy on the ears. I think the CFP seeding is crazy. The number one team should be playing the lowest ranked team on the board in the second round. Then, re seed it, to play the lowest team ranked on the board in the third round. The number one ranking should have an advantage like that, for being number one in the country. There should be more of a reward than just a bye week. It’s crazy.
PSU fan here. In all honesty I think Oregon has an edge on offense and that is what will win this game. We’ve seen Penn State struggle on offense at times. Sorry to say I got Oregon 23-17. Like to add from comments on many podcasts, Oregon fans are decent and respectful.
I wouldn't be surprised about the spread you have with Orgeon by 6, makes perfect sense very reasonable. I'll be honest, if it's that low scoring, I think Penn state wins it. Penn state needs to keep Pregon under 24-28 points and if they do, they have a decent shot at winning. If it were me, I'd say maybe like 28-24 Oregon or 28-21 something like that. Penn state has gotten really accustomed to playing close games and pulling through each time, Oregon hasn't really had to do that so if it's low scoring and close, I give the edge to Penn state because that's their type of game. I know OSU was close and low scoring but Penn state should have converted either of those two trips inside the OSU 5 yard line in that game...that was disappointing. Anyways, good take, I would just raise the score up a little to meet the spread
@jacksnowden3546 i didnt necessarily say that, I meant that Penn state has shown they are more capable in that case and has done it in different ways. I havent seen that from Oregon which is a compliment to Oregon I hope you know. I'm just saying Penn State is just a gritty and resilient team that won't let the game get away from them and will hang in there for the entire game. Look, i still expect Oregon to win. I just think Penn State has shown their capability of just being resilient is all. And if you disagree, that's fine. I don't necessarily say you're wrong in that.
It’s gonna come down to the WR game. Omari Evans creating separation will be the difference in 14-21 points. Tyler Warren will be the X factor and Abdul Carter and the defensive line holding out
Penn State needs the front 4 to take over this game and Drew Allar is gonna have to take more chances for Penn State to win. I think this game is close but Oregon survives 27-20
The only experience I've had with Penn State fans was the 1995 Rose Bowl; they were friendly, classy and respectful, genuinely nice people....completely unlike USC fans.
I love the classy take and respect fans in the BIG have. Nasty out west sometimes. We were always cannibalizing and hating. I love good football. The BIG is great football with great fans Either way, best team wins. Go Ducks!
BIG10 teams for the most part know their place for now and we try not be delusional lol. I'm a PSU fan, I expect Oregon to win in a close game but I know PSU has the ability and talent to win. I'm loving these new games with the teams out west though and it makes home field advantage now even bigger advantage! I know Orgeon is coming to Happy Valley next year i believe which good chance that'll be a white game. That's going to be a crazy environment to play in then and will be great no matter the outcome. Welcome to the BIG10 though!
Penn State fans on RUclips seem to be a lot more friendly & logical. I used to think the Washington Huskies fans were the worst, but Ohio State fans have claimed that title for me now. They seem to be as crazy and emotionally damaged as the Buckeye's head coach Ryan Day 😂 Anyone else think it's bizarre that Day tells the world that losing to Michigan affects his family, and that "The Game" is more important than anything? Sheesh...get a life dude. Go Ducks!
Ducks fan here, your comment on Ryan Days statement about “The Game”. In Ohio it’s a part of life that both those teams hate each other and even divides families, if you ask fans what would they rather see happen, beating their rival in that game or winning the national title, most fans would choose to beat their rival in “The Game” it’s the biggest rivalry in all of college football. Oregon vs Washington or the civil war don’t even come close to how much people care about that game
It was omega cringe of Ryan Day to say that game was perhaps the worst day in his family's life, while mentioning his father's death in the same sentence lmao.
Love and subscribed. Fair and accurate assessment with some love to my Ducks. I’ve always respected PSU’s team and know they are capable of handing Oregon a loss. Lanning better be getting the Ducks focused.
Can't wait for the Ducks to play Penn State, should be a great game. I wish we could've played Indiana this year too, but I think winning against Penn State would make it a statement conference championship. This game also sets the tone for the conference game late in 2025. SCO DUCKS
And I noticed that all of the "Who has Dan Lanning beat?" questions have stopped except for some stupid comments made by Ninny Lion fans. Also, the Ducks played @ Purdue, Michigan and Wisconsin so they know what they need to do to win on the road in the B1G.
I haven't seen any comments like that from PSU fans, to be honest, for the most part, the fan bases have been pretty reasonable about the likely outcome of this game. Sucks if that's what you've been seeing from PSU fans but the vast majority of PSU fans believe PSU can win but wouldn't be surprised at a 28-21, 28-24 score in favor of oregon. PSU fans aren't delusional like OSU and Michigan fans like to be when they talk about these 40+ point blowouts lol. We know our place right now.
stats are relative to how tough the teams you played are not saying these guys on Penn are not good but stats go out the door in big games . remember Ohio State. 🙄
I don’t think this game will be particularly close. The Ducks will be healthy and focused with Lanning and his staff keeping them in the zone. The Nittany Lions only chance is for the Ducks to beat themselves with unforced errors. They can’t stop the Ducks and the Penn State offense will be hard pressed to get much against the Ducks defensive front. Ducks 38- Nittany Lions -17.
Should be a good game....The loser may actually benefit in seeding, even though they wouldn't get a bye. Hopefully, they change the playoff structure next season.
For Penn State to win, they need to have game plan like Michigan had in 2023. Keep the ball away from Oregon. No turnovers. Go on long, extended drives. Frustrate Oregon. Penn State can do it.
I saw predictions of Koltinicki being hired by WVU. I hope they wait until after the Playoff. Edit: I don't believe Penn will land @ 5 with a loss. Oregon does. Double Edit: Was that a nutcracker flag?
Will come down to turnovers. If Gabriel and offense is sloppy then Ducks lose. If he makes smart throws they win by a couple scores. PSU is capable of pulling off the upset. They'll be watching tape of that ugly Badgers game.
Ohio State AD is just trying to keep moral up for the playoff. If OSU doesn’t win a national championship he is done. I said at the beginning of the season that this would be Day’s last season. I was told I was stupid. Of course I made a lot of predictions that didn’t pan out. We will see I guess.
The biggest weakness for Oregon's offense is when Lanning puts Noah Whittington on the field. The offense is at a disadvantage scheme wise, and Noah is a turnover liability. Noah Whittington also generally goes down on first contact. He's a decent receiver, but he can't give Dillon Gabriel any blitz help from the RB position. This is the key to the game. Can Penn State take advantage when they recognize Whittington in the game. Lanning appears to have a soft spot for this guy. He plays him even though it's a disadvantage for his offense.
To come to a brand new conference (one that just won a national championship) and go undefeated in the regular season is a huge triumph for the Ducks
As of the Washington game, this is the closest Oregon has been to heathy since the beginning of the season. I see Oregon winning by more than people think. Oregon’s stats are based off of performances that are missing their best players.

I think it’s a huge mismatch and will be a blowout by Oregon , but I also thought that about Michigan and Ohio state 😂
