Such a cool concept of letting the 3-0ers pick and ban a card from the cube. Rotating cards out of a cube and putting bangers in is really enjoyable to watch.

It also gives the players some sense of ownership. Luis knows which cards which person added, and he gets to say, “I added this.”
There's real incentive and more at stake then a pixel trophy

Man I think I’d counter it out of fear. Anyone who confidently casts Timetwister into an active bowmasters is either cooking something real dangerous or is completely desperate. Not worth figuring out which one is it if I have a counter in hand.

I was annoyed by Bowmasters existing initially but honestly seeing the kind of play it rewards/punishes has made me a fan
Really like the 3-0 code a new card. Would love to hear the ones that were removed. Also if you're aware of others that were added by people it would be fun hearing about them. It's also interesting hearing what deck or reason a card that was added or removed goes/ went to.

@@indybruining I feel like in a vacuum, it totally is fine as first pick but it's on the low end, you'd rather see it 2-3 I think. But in a pack that stacked, apparently it wheels
This deck was just unreal! The only things that aren't power I might've wanted were Skullclamp and Retrofitter, but honestly the deck had plenty without them! Great video as always!

You found the line in the final round, but that was already available when you cast Upheaval. Opponent doesn't get to exile Brain Freeze with Cauldron, since you can always just cast it in response =)
You're deck is awesome!! Upheaval is my favorite cube card. It's the most bail you out and win card ever made. You mentioned Time Vault, is that in this cube!? I remember when it was on MTGO it was THE MOST busted card in the cube.
Posting this comment before watching the games. It’s weird how chrome mox is a good card in a good artifact deck but gets worse the more insane your deck is. Lorien Revealed is the only card I would be comfortable imprinting. Excited to see how it plays out.
Watching this video is as beautiful as going to the Louvre and being mesmerized by all the beauty of the paintings. It's a truly masterwork of art.
On a side note, is it possible to find this cube list? I find it way more funny and interactive than the MTGO list
This deck was insane, no doubt about that. Now look at the teammates draft from yesterday. That deck had all of this and more.
This might be one of the most disgustingly good cube decks I've ever seen drafted, and I've seen some busted ones.

After just having played my very first cube draft, where I P1P1'd a Tolarian Academy and proceeded to completely botch the rest of the draft, I am excited to watch this video and see how it's supposed to be done.

37:02 i think drawing off top and playing a 2nd talisman here is better, and as it turned out would probably have led to twisting away the bowmasters instead of playing baleful strix.

1:13:25 - I think your opponent would draw off Skullclamp in this situation.
There are a couple of rules this might fall under but the ones I am thinking of all seem to point to that. First, permanents that leave/enter at the same time "see" each other (e.g. Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle & Scapeshift). Second is the "look-back" rule for leaves BF triggers. Third, (Prismari's Command)'s wording is ordered so that the damage is dealt first and it kills the artifact last.
It's certainly always possible I am missing some nuance, but I think one of (if not multiple of) these apply here.
Bit late here but you are missing something. Luis explained it later but Skullclamp is destroyed directly while the creature is dealt damage. This means that the Skullclamp is immediately removed from the battlefield while resolving the spell but the creature only dies after the spell finishes resolving as a result of state based effects checking to see if it has lethal damage marked on it. For the same reason if the creature had base 3 toughness (so 2 toughness with Skullclamp equipped) it wouldn't die at all in the same situation. If the creature was being destroyed directly instead of being dealt damage then your third point would be relevant and the order that things are listed on the card would be important. If the spell was killing both creature and Skullclamp at the same time (e.g. Planar Cleansing) then your first point would be relevant.
Damage never killed anything, state-based actions have killed many things.
May I suggest adding Psychatog if you go 3-0, Mr. Vargas? As for Removing a card I’ll leave that up to you. That way, we both win, except you have to literally win in order for us to both… win.

I remember when turn 2-3 thousand year storm or niv mizzet in don standard was unbeatable. Unfortunate that power level has made plays like that unplayable jank.

M2G1 any thought to brain freeze your opponent in response to Demonic Tutor? There’s a chance that you mill the card(s) they are looking for.
Seemed like he wanted to use brain freeze to win the game. It’s like, if you have the choice between 100% losing in a turn or two or 90% losing immediately and 10% winning - you take the second choice because it’s your only out to actually win the game.
@@TFleming88 LSV is digging towards Breach either way, so he’ll still have access to brain freeze. It’s still not great, but 1 copy targeting yourself to get past the lands and 2 copies to your opponent could be better than doing nothing.

at 47:51 why not brain freeze him in response to the demonic tutor to potentially hit any of his ways to kill you on the spot? Also could have sent a copy at yourself to get the lands off your deck and get 3 new looks? Seems better than just dying at the least.

@@edwardbeshers go into main phase, tap academy for UUU. cast mystical for tinker. swap top to draw tinker. tinker something away for LED. play land, use talisman & land to cast breach. use LED for UUU and to discard brain freeze. then cast brainfreeze from GY etc.

This deck is a horrifying abomination and tons of fun to watch. Only low point is hearing Luis mispronounce ichor as 'ick-or'. :D
While Coveted Jewel is a powerful effect, it's also a shit card which usually is a liability.
