    My ranger 2005 was a nightmare to get started after my engine swap, battery was weak, injectors were dirty, finally got it running and just let it idle for a long time, been a good truck 2wd with 3.0L auto trans

    FYI-get rid of the JBA exhaust gaskets since they blow out if the wind blows. They are poorly made!
    Use felpro gaskets, the graphite ones as opposed to the perferated aluminum.
    There are nord-lock washers. They are pricey but are absolutely worth it as they will slow the header bolts from backing out, which they will do.
    Also, there is a "lock-tite" style product that is rated to 2000 degrees. its Vibra-TITE 19960 Hot-Lock Extreme High Temperature Threadlocker. With only the Nord-lock washers its slowed the bolts backing out but did not stop it. Its still better than bolts without washers.
    Speaking from experience with my 3.0 and 6 months worth of frustration with the JBA headers these steps made them reliable.
    Good luck!

    • @turtleman5.9
      @turtleman5.9  26 дней назад

      @@ColinCaron i would think a set of egr compatible headers would have some kind of tube or fitting to feed exhaust gases to the egr valve. Mine has no egr. If you have egr then the egr compatible headers would be the choice. If you dnt have egr but can only find egr compatible headers then there's bound to be a way to cap off whatever is on the headers to make them usable for you. Hope that helps

    • @turtleman5.9
      @turtleman5.9  4 месяца назад

      The added power allowed me to cruise at the same speed but slightly lower rpm. Power to weight ratio, engine doesn't have to work as hard to do the same work. Not a huge difference, just a 150 or so rpm. Not like the difference in a 3:55 gear and a 4:11.
