As someone who tried to get into candle making, that wick length guide for wooden wicks is a nice print. Well done. I have done similar with mold making and even my own placement, but never thought to make that guide.

@@reservoir_flow yes, there are layer lines. I have some thoughts on this matter 1) For some models, two-minute sanding after demoulding was more convinient than post-processing and painting the master-model itself. Concrete is very easy to sand, especially when its wet. 2) For other models, layer lines were not a problem given the crude and matte nature of the concrete itself. Natural concrete finish was enough to blend lines into surface 3) For some other cases, dropping layer height to 0.08 was more than enough to hide lines completely, especially concidering 2) Of course, that method is not for everyone and not for every case. You can buy flow additive / plasticizers which make vibration unnecessary. But usually the amount needs to be calculated with the amount of pure cement (only the binder, not the concrete mix with sand and gravel) which makes the correct dosage tricky unless you go for trial eland error
You have not sealed the plaster/concrete, the wax will be making oily patterns on walls and soaking into wall and deteriorate it. Use any varnish for plaster to seal it, make sure is fireproof varnish as well.

Bro these can also be used as beautiful looking planters....the design that you have made....is absolutely beautiful for not only candles but also for small indoor plants....you can make small concrete self watering planters...with this design....these look so so amazing
Great video, thank you for sharing. Have you tried pulling a vacuum on it to remove bubbles from the concrete? Kind of wondering how effective that would be, I haven't seen somebody try.
So I don't have a resin printer, but I do have a bambu X1 carbon. Could similar results be obtained through sanding and primering and sealing? Thanks for a great video!
I don't have a 3d printer also....I wish if someone could send a mold and I could try this...this is so inspiring....but I don't have the machine with which you were calculating the kpa....I don't even know what that is...but your work is absolutely amazing...thanks for sharing such a beautiful art and an idea
it removes bubbles that can cause voids. with resin, people can use either vac chambers or pressure pots, because resin cures solid, the pressure pot will shrink the bubbles really tiny and not be a problem, but in something flexible like silicone, those bubbles only shrink while it's under pressure. when you take it out of the pressure pot, the bubbles re-expand and can warp the mold. it's good to throw the entire mold in the vac chamber while the silicon mold cures too, it'll pull bubbles from the surface of the part, too.
Excellent workmanship. There is only one thing I am curious about. I saw that you have an SLA printer. When I place such products flat on the tray in the SLA printer, there are traces on the layers. Why is this happening? How do you solve it?

PLA moulds are much more difficult to reuse over and over. Having the mould be silicone also simplifies it because it can stretch around details like the flower on the front rather than having to have multipart moulds to get around them. You can also mostly ignore draft angles for the same reason.

Oddly satisfying to watch. Good job.
I have had a decent result printing the form directly from TPU. Not as soft and forgiving when demolding as silicone, but fast and convinient
you've been really smart
Well unless you know something about TPU smoothing and post-processing I don't, the layer lines would still show up on the final product no?
I do have the same concern about TPU and the layer lines… how are you dealing with that?

顺便说一下,石膏粉加白水泥加pva胶水,可以做出类似陶瓷的效果,你可以试试看

what happens if you put the concrete into a vacuum? Does it get rid of the bubbles?
partially
Why do you paint the 3d printed part every time? Is it to make the 3d printed part more smooth for the mold process for a better outcome?
exactly
Any bad experience with the 3d printed molds in a vacuum chamber? If there is any air trapped in the printed structure, does it burst the mold?
no
Why do you use the vacuum for the silicone? Tried to Google it but the answers are very differently
The vacuum pressure causes the air bubbles to rise to the top and pop/release to create a bubble free surface.
@@zero-coolpropshop1748 Alternately, using a pressure pot makes the bubbles so small you can't see them. Opposite processes, same result.
