To be honest takara tomy and hasbro should re-release metal fight remakes, same design just remade. I think it would be a smart marketing strategy, before the next generation comes out.
not smart. the new generation is making them money, there not gonna risk future or present money just to temporarily satisfied the past. i think mid fakes are a great way to relieve the past and not wasting your money on complete dog bs like rapidity
I agree, I'm 23 and wanting to get back into metal fight beys every now and then, because I never had that many during my childhood, but it's borderline impossible to get legit ones nowadays because the abundance of fakes. If hasbro and TT started re-releasing metal fight beys, it would be awesome, because I know there's a ton of people like me
The primary issue with this is that it's getting much harder for players like me who want to bounce back into Metal Fight but can't afford to buy exclusively the authentic parts. Have you seen what most reshuffle sets go for nowadays? It hurts physically when I have to blow hundreds just for a couple of pieces, and the market on the WBO isn't as reliable as it once was. If these midfakes can prove themselves to be of even slightly higher quality and durability than those of Rapidity and Flame, then I say let people use them, as long as they can be proven safe. Beyblade should be accessible to everyone, not just the hardcore collectors.
In defense of the midfakes, buying used authentic Beyblades on Ebay doesn't exactly support Takara and Hasbro either. Midfakes serve an important role in this hobby for people who want to get Metal Fight beyblades without having to pay the ridiculously overblown Ebay prices of them.
Also buying authentic Beyblades on any website isn't even a nice feeling cuz its already been used and every part is worn out. Thats why getting midfakes are good. I think Beyblade should just re-release them
Yeah. That argument about supporting the creators was incredibly stupid. If TT really cared they'd still produce them. Since they don't, that's too bad.
With respect, buying 100% authentic mfb beyblades off ebay or second-hand stores does not support the original creators. These products were either already purchased or sold to another store.
From my experience, the people who buy fakes/midfakes do so because the original versions aren't sold in their region and getting one from overseas can get expensive. Maybe TT & Hasbro have an obligation to their fans from all regions that they can afford the original products.
True, Brasil has no way to buy official Takara tomy beys in country and buying from outside makes them ludicruosly expensive like would you rather pay 250 dollars for a takara tomy Nemesis or pay 50 for a midfake one that's basically the same fucking thing?
I buy midfake metal fight beys because I am NOT wasting hundreds of dollars for one or 2 real beys when I can just buy 3 or 4 midfakes for way less. For burst I use Beyblade premier where they only sell legit ones
why should i care if theyre fake or not, if theyre not horrible quality and dont break, i can simply use them. sure if youre a collector who gets off on just looking at these things in their original package or something you might have a reason to be angry, but honestly i think its great someone still produces them so people can play with something that's 90% identical to what we had back in the day.
If that’s what you want to do, go for it. Just as long as you’re aware that they aren’t genuine and that it Infringes on TT copyright. The whole video was supposed to tell people that these eBay listings saying “genuine” is a lie.
@@harshbhatia3069 i feel like that makes sence bc if im not mistaken tt hasn't said anything about the midfakes, they are 100% aware of this so if they are fake then why not say it? for me i think its true about midfakes getting the license
A little late to the party there, but a very informative and important video for the community nonetheless. As a collector myself I have gone through the struggles of identifying them apart in the past so I will list some tips here: For new in box listings: 1. Code (at bottome of box) - last 2 digits should NOT end in 12, 13, or 14 as these numbers represent the year of manufacturing and metal fight ended in 2011 for the majority of Takara Tomy beys. If you can, ask seller for a picture of a code, if they're confident in their product they will be happy to provide. 2. Box color and clarity - midfakes are washed out in color. Also look at the smaller Japanese text... midfakes have blurry text while real Tomy ones have very clear printed characters. (This is one of the ways I tell midfakes when looking at photos of listings, when code is not shown) 3. Location of item - best avoid ones from Taiwan and China as these are where the midfakes factories are at. 4. Sometimes they have sample photos of the contents, in which case use the tests below. For second hand listings and beys you already own: 5. Facebolt tattoo - is off-centered for midfakes 6. Stickers - for midfakes, coloring is washed out and less saturated, while printing may be off-centered. A great example of this is Phantom Orion. I recommend DaimyoGT's video on Phantom Orion midfake comparison. 7. Plastic moulding - the moulding of the facebolt, clear wheel, spin track and performance tip of real Tomy or Hasbro beys are very clean. Midfakes however, have a lot of excess plastic and jagged cuts. 8. Metal wheel moulding - most obvious one... midfakes have bad moulding and less detail. A good example is Earth Eagle 145WD, the clear wheel does not fit perfectly in the fusion wheel for midfakes due to bad moulding. The Diablo wheel also has trouble fitting with the X:D tip and Nemesis' ultimate balance mode does not work due to it being too stiff. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking~
Ive bought over 15 midfakes knowing they are midfakes, I would buy authentic ones but those are crazy expensive and “supporting the creators” is literally impossible since there hasnt been any official production in years. But I gotta say I am very impressed on how good the quality was for all of them outside of 2 that had a tiny piece of 3D print sticking out.
Did they get better? We bought some midfakes like 10 years ago because we were bored. We played in a steel wheelbarrow because we didn't have anything better in the garden, we ended up with metal scraps in the wheelbarrow from one of the beys. The boxes looked exactly like the ones in the video, I really can't remember if they had the Takara Tomy logo, we got them for 3-4 euros each.
@@avengedlol6698 those were definetly not midfakes if they were that cheap but rather cheaply fake made ones, but anyways if you are interested in getting metal fight beys and u dont want to spend a fortune and get the feeling of buying new beys then you should definetly look into it.
I dont really see how its a scam, you are getting an unofficial replica of something that isnt made anymore, if it performs the same as a legit bey which it does, and if it doesnt have lead which it doesnt, and can be used in tournaments which they can, then it just seems like you want people to pay over $30 for a rare bey because you think it supports tt. There doesnt really seem like theres a reason to not buy these so yea.
For beysandbricks, it is extremely easy to tell if it's a midfake. They literally spell it out for you. If the item says "OEM Status: Reproduction" its a guaranteed midfake.
Tbh I have an entire beyblade collection and I’m very aware that they are midfakes however I spent about $200 on them for about 60 beys and all of them battle really well and launch and are very well made (for midfakes) they are a cheaper alternative especially if you just want to battle! And have fun! I recommend them to anyone that just likes old metal beys. :3
Never but rapidity, they are really shiny, almost gold, and they seem to be really cheap, go to the midfakes ones who seem to be the real takara tomy ones
@vonthegreat870 damn Mine got shattered It was super cheap, so I never cared anyway. I bought them to watch them get shattered😂 Are there any authentic sites that sell good midfakes? With international shipping
It's not even necessarily a scam at this point unless they start charging the now inflated price if the originals due to scarcity. Buying the real ones doesn't support the makers of the originals anymore. It's a secondary market. The money for Takara Tomy has been made already. If Takara Tomy remade the genuine stuff and brought it to market, then the midfakes would be a total scam again. If you want the genuine stuff, then if it looks too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Though the sellers claiming legitimacy where there isn't legitimacy? They are scamming.
It seems obvious to you as you’ve seen the full video/know what the are. But when people get tricked by listings that say they’re “genuine” then the realization is it’s not actually TT means the money spent doesn’t support TT.
@@nuc I do agree on that, it’s pretty scammy to list knock offs as genuine. Beys&Bricks now specify if it’s legit or midfake so at least that’s something. In addition to the code list you mentioned
@@christianlala3702 First of all these do not contain lead these use a zinc alloy just like the real thing. We know this because lead is more dense and thus if these were made with lead should have been a lot heavier compared to the original one. Secondly lead paint was used in the past in homes and other art pieces even in dishes. And lead is not dangerous unless you eat or inhale it. And these are pretty much 1:1 replica of the original so you get the full experience...
Sure, but like what do you do if you want a specific metal fight bey in new condition and don't have £100+ to buy it. Is it my fault that they didn't make enough copies for everyone? And why didn't they continue producing some of them, like once an year or so? This way we wouldn't be temped to buy midfakes that are so close to the real thing :/
Ima keep on buying midfakes. Im not paying hundreds of hundreds of dollars for just a few metal series legit beys when I can just go buy a ton of midfakes for like 1/10th the price. I was never able to buy em during my childhood its nostalgic. Blame resellers and these outrages prices for midfakes
My reason for not buying real Beyblades is because takaratomy do not sell beys in our country and even if they did i would not have brought it because of the high price. Just imagine paying more than 40$ for a piece of plastic and metal in a country where a a single dollar amounts to 80 native currency.
"The problem with fakes is that buying them doesn't support the creators of beyblade" idk man seems like they're creating more metal fight beys than Tamara Tomy. Buying authentic beys only helps resellers, so by that logic if we want more metal beys we should buy midfakes, not authentic beys.
If you ask me, intellectual property is the real scam. Just look at transformers, where the third party toys are higher quality and better designed than any official releases. I reckon if we didn't have such a hard-on for authenticity in this community, third party manufacturers wouldn't need to lie about it, and there could be more open competition and comparison of midfakes, leading to beys that are even better than the originals.
How can we support if they stopped production? Soon no new authentic will be available and all you can get is a used authentic, which will be worse than a new midfake.
If you say getting midfakes are better then getting authentic beys, that’s completely false, TT and Hasbro defiantly made more metal beys For now, and buying authentic Beyblades doesn’t just help the reseller, it helps you, since you have the authentic ones and the accurate looking ones, so by the right logic, if you want to buy more metal fight Beyblades buy authentices in good to mint condition rather than midfakes, I can understand getting them you know if it’s a rare bey like Jade or Fusion Hades, but when it’s normal beys get authentices
@@maxpalmer325 how many authentics are there in good-mint condition rn? And they'll decrease as years pass. Also, midfakes are accurate looking and have the correct parts, fakes like rapidity are not.
I've been a victim of these midfakes... In 2017 I ordered Big Bang Pegasis, Diablo Nemesis, and Basalt Horogium, and 4-5 years later I found out that they were fake all along...
I’d love to support the actual creators but they quit making them. How am I support to give them my money for one? Because you can’t. Even if I’d love to. Even buying real ones for $100+ isn’t supporting them. It’s supporting whomever you bought it from…… there’s literally no way to enjoy our classic beyblades without spending everything to have one or these thoughtful people who bring midfakes to us at an affordable price.
I'm 23 and wanting to get back into metal fight beys every now and then, because I never had that many during my childhood, but it's borderline impossible to get legit ones nowadays because the abundance of fakes. If hasbro and TT started re-releasing metal fight beys, it would be awesome, because I know there's a ton of people like me that would be re-living our childhood
To those of u out there. Midfakes do have lead in them. BUT unless your putting giant scratches on your midfakes there should be no problem as theres a metric ton of paint on them. The videos lead testing them have different answers depending on it they've scratched them or not. Also I've heard that midfakes are used as alternatives in metal tournaments but I'm not sure if it's true
This isn’t entirely true because not all midfakes have lead, you can tell due to the oxidisation rate. Lead never oxidises, that’s why despite use obvious lead beys like rapidity stay shiny but authentic will have the zinc alloy turn grey
FYI: not a lot of people know, those fake beys are not allowed to be sold in the USA, they are harmful to children, The fakes are not CPC approved (children product certificate) all toys MUST be CPC approved if they are intended for children under 12.
I'm glad midfakes and rapidity didn't exist back when I was a kid growing up on the original (tbh I even sort of "grew up" on metal fight) but it is disheartening to see even Metal Fight prices for originals be so extreme. I understand paying $100+ for Dragoon MS, the Beyblade is almost 20 years old and one of the most prized beys in existence thanks to how limited HMS itself was, but $100+ for L-Drago Destroy or Meteo L-Drago? That's straight up bs
I dont think midfakes do anyharm to takara tomy. Autenthic mfb prices skyrocketed after they stopped producing new mfb beys . Takara tomy doesnt sell them anymore anyway so have fun with your midfakes guys
I don’t think it’s a scam for me because I buy them on purpose. When it comes to 4d beyblades there is almost no other option than buying midfakes because the originals are to expensive here in Europe. But when it comes to metal fusion/masters beys only buy authentic tt or hasbro because they are way easier to get and way way cheaper. So I kinda like midfakes for that one reason just that it allows me to have these goddamn beyblades.
I buy midfakes off of beystation and i knew they were midfakes before I even bought them When people in discord servers ask me if they should buy off of beystation I say yes but warn them that they are indeed midfakes If y’all have a problem with this then please reply with your reasoning As far as I’m concerned as long as you buy it knowing it’s a midfake and you don’t try and pass it as the real thing it’s fine
@@iamgar6age insanely close to the quality of real TT and Hasbro beys. They’re a bit lighter and definitely would recommend getting a TT or Hasbro if you can find it cheaper than a midfake but mids are great for having fun with
It’s the company’s fault that makes beyblades. Their decision to discontinue making these with so much demand is on them. I do not care if buying these beys doesn’t support takartoymi, if they wanted my money they should’ve made the beys I wanted.
You can't. Its impossible, but its more of a knowledge sort of thing vs advice for how to do better. They dont produce them anymore, so people need to know what they're buying isnt supporting TT and isnt genuine. IF you already know that, that's fine. IF you don't, hopefully now you do.
4:03 problem here, they no longer sell mfb beys there for we cannot support them anyway and the people who resale them sell them at a very high price due to demand and even then it still doesn't support Takara Tomy
Today is 2022, which is 14 years after Metal Fight saga debuted (The pre hybrid wheel lineup debut in 2008, then in 2009 comes the Hybrid Wheel system and Anime that we all come to know)..... or specifically 10 years after metal fight 4D ended so even without the knowlegde of midfakes people should've guessed that these so called "Takara Tomy" or "Hasbro" ones selling at that kinda price today is no way the real deal. A Beyblade once their lineup passed on would instantly become rare and harder to find in the after market, and this also applies to Burst too. Like example a Cho Z bey would become rarer once we have reached SuperKing or DB era, so even if even beys part of older Burst lineup is getting rarer then save to say that beys from previous Generations like Bakuten or Metal Fight is almost impossible to find an authentic one with a normal price.
I mean you can find actual in box sealed takara tomy and hasbro plastics for that price or less. (Depending on bey, ones with particular anime significance are extremely high price, while insignificant but competitively amazing beys can go for under 10 dollars) Mfb and burst are just expensive.
While I wholeheartedly agree with supporting the creators of Beyblade and trying to raise awareness of cheap knockoffs...at the same time...I feel like some of the blame for the presence and popularity of midfakes should be laid at the feet of both Takara-Tomy/Hasbro and Beyblade's creators; Largely because neither the creators, nor the companies in charge of distributing Beyblade toys, have really given fans of older Beyblade generations (especially for those looking for the rarer or harder to find Beys) any other options when it comes to obtaining said older generations of Beyblade toys. And quite frankly, potential health issues with lead poisoning notwithstanding, I don't really blame the Chinese companies for choosing to take advantage of the market by putting out these midfakes. If the creators of Beyblade - or at least the companies in charge of distributing the Beyblade toys - aren't gonna make any effort to give fans of older Beyblade gens another way to obtain authentic (or otherwise high-quality) parts and Beys from older generations, then...well...what the hell else are we supposed to do? I said it once before and I'll say it again: Beyblade's creators, going forward, *need* to create and support a robust aftermarket scene for their Beyblades. Not just the current-gen Beys, but *all* generations; From plastic-gen to Metal Fight and beyond.
The availability of genuine Beyblades is the major reason why midfakes and fakes are so popular in some regions. In my region, it's almost impossible to get takaratomy beys at a reasonable price and they aren't sold everywhere either. I hope they make availability much easier and re-manufacture metal Beyblades because some of us still want to get Metal Beyblades, just not at crazy prices.
Thanks for making a video on this, Jake! I think I’ve been pretty close on buying one of these beys while thinking they were legit ones, maybe some scalpers had gotten a hold of them. Idk. But thanks for always being a bright light in the beyblade community.
I actually don’t have a problem with Midfakes and even think there are decent deal for people who weren’t around during the metal fight days and want to get into it for the experience my big problem like you said it’s people selling them as real when they’re not and deceiving people Who don’t know any better who just think they’re getting a good deal
The thing is what we can do. I hate beyblade burst, the core mechanic that is bursting beyblades got to a point that is better to not burst them, and now they are built with so many teeth and anti burst systems, that for me shows me how bad it is. Recently I found my old collection of hasbro beyblades, like 5 month ago. My little brother got interested as well as my sister (and man, they're 16-17 yrs old, that's how awesome metal fight is)... I never experienced the 4D system. So I bought roughly 10 midfakes and they are awesome. If TT would still doing them I would buy them original, 0 problem. I mean is cheap enough to import them from amazon japan to my country. but they don't and I refuse to pay for a pre owned beyblade 100 usd+. I want to enjoy them metal, all of us. (I do have some BU TT beyblades, and yet we still hate them) the string launchers are great tho, have adapted 3 of them to metal fight :p
Support the creators of beyblade when you want to buy beyblades that are no longer in production by the creators, so just don't buy old beyblade because THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE, got it
Support as in realize what youre buying, don't get swindled by ebay listings that are lying to you. Also, potentially look into buying newer non MFB releases if you're interested in them.
4:05 the issue is that hasbro and takara don’t sell these in stores anymore. Buying them used do not support the creators because they don’t get any new money from that 5:04
I feel the argument to "support the creators" is not true. When you're buying legit Beyblades, Takara Tomy is not making a single dime out of that purchase, because MFB are out of production. You're actually supporting the resellers, which are making quite a lot of money out of Beyblade resale. I'm not saying mid-fakes are a good thing, but MFB should be accessible to anyone... And prices for legit Beys is becoming extreme. These mid-fakes are an answer for that demand, granted it's harder for collectors to find legit Beys, but it makes MFB accessible. Besides, these Beys typically do not contain lead. (I personally have quite a few of these mid-fakes, and honestly they are pretty good to play with, as I have less remorse playing with cheaper Beys)
I tend to buy midfakes but honestly don't mind them, I buy them cause out of 50 only 2 of my beyblades were real so I plan to expand on midfakes cause atleast I get the similar experience for cheaper and without lead. Obviously I wouldn't condone buying or selling fakes but you have to understand someone's viewpoint.
While I do believe company’s shouldn’t claim them as authentic, anyone with 2 cents will knows $20 isn’t getting you a real one. And I just bought quite a bunch for Christmas and they are great and I’m reliving my childhood🎉 and my wallets not sad. Also you shout out mall of toys for a shop to purchase from but you only showed burst products which isn’t the conversation at all lol.
While I think its wrong to brand them as takara tomy according to the WBO some midfakes are actually tournament legal due to the accuracy of the parts and the accessibility
We in Russia understand that we buy midfakes, for example, from the SB brand. They are cheap, and at the same time ok qualityWe in Russia understand that we buy midfakes, for example, from the SB brand. They are cheap, and at the same time ok quality (price 350-600 Rub). But the launchers are really bad and quickly fail.
I’ve only had one metal fight back in my life and I’ve just found out it was fake because it came with the wrong stuff. The tip was the same tip on lightning L Drago when it was meant to be the rubber tip on storm, Pegasus and yes, I bought storm Pegasus, it was fun to use
I've only bought a handful of midfakes by accident. And after talking to some people about them they are not the worst thing to buy. Some are barely different than the real ones. My mid fakes that I've bought always worked properly
The only ones I’d say you really have to get legit ones for are Meteo L Drago and Phantom Orion. I had a midfake Orion for years before I knew about these and got a real one recently and the difference is night and day. The Bearing Drive on the midfake might as well be stationary in comparison to the real deal
Like you said , when we buy fakes we are obviously not suporting takaratomy or hasbro but in order to support them they should start making old beys again with a resonable price so people who are in to old gen beys can support them again and just have fun without worrying if ther fake or not
Honestly with how prevalent Midfakes & Rapidity were/are I hope one day, as unlikely as it may be, we see a re-release of previous beyblade generations. It's probably nigh impossible, and maybe all of the molds have been long destroyed, but it would be a dream to see a dead competitive game resurrected even if for a short while. Buuut, that's just a pipe dream.
They don't make them anymore and haven't for over a decade. If you want bayblades that you can be sure are real and support the creators, then you kinda have to buy whatever is the newest product is. Honestly, with how bad Hasbro's quality control is these days, the fakes are probably on par with Hasbros stuff.
I think there are much worse mid fakes out there. It wasn't even a week ago when I wanted to buy Flame Sagetario. I found one on Amazon and ordered it. The bay had completely wrong parts. It had the Spintrack of Libra and a flat attack-type blade tip. So things get so much worse.
For me it's at the point where I don't even consider what real Beys to buy. It's about what midfakes are good quality to play with and it shouldnt be like that. Either the new beyblade gens should have better designs or they should just remake the metal beys
I really don’t get what’s the problems with them besides distributors claiming they are TT, the “buying mids takes away support from the original manufacturer thing” I don’t think it’s valid because TT doesn’t sell them anymore anywhere so they are not profiting from them, and the quality of the beys itself is pretty close to the real thing if not the same from my experience, also repeated testing on RUclips and from my local community shows they do not contain lead, what’s your opinion on mids? For me they are totally fine
The point of the video was to make people aware of the listings that call them genuine or authentic. Midfakes themselves? Not for me but I don't mind them.
I will say that Mcfaboy10 got one of his tested at an actual lab where they scanned the whole wheel and it had zero lead. This was just one example, but this test was a lot more accurate then the cheap lead tests.
you wanna know what's a scam paying close to $100 dollars for a single used beyblade or close to $150 for an unopened one so tell me is it more worth it to buy the midfake or the beyblade from a scalper on ebay
It's scary to think that even some with well-known brands even be faked. I'm not into beyblade, but have a son who is into it, I don't think I can ever be knowledgeable enough to differentiate a real one from a good fake, if I stick with buying exclusively with Mall of Toys, can I be completely sure that it's real?
Not all of us are sponsored by Hasbro and TT behind the scenes to advertise their products, bub. The prices for those originals are fucking ridiculous now, not to mention the scalpers who sell used Beyblades at even more obscene prices. And TT and Hasbro wanna act all high and mighty and neither re-release the originals, nor distribute their products throughout the world. So yeah midfakes are way better than burning your pockets for something that should be made available to children and collectors around the world.
I dont think anyone is getting paid by TT or Hasbro "behind the scenes" to advertise products. "bub". And there is no "high and mighty" attitude by these companies to re-release OLD products that aren't relevant anymore. If Hasbro and TT are trying to push Beyblade X... why would they release beys from 2 generations ago? Should Honda release a 2010 car again just because? No, that's not how it works. I also say throughout the video, and especially at 6:08, that I don't hate midfakes. I just have a problem with listings calling them genuine when they aren't. I appreciate you giving your opinion here, but I also implore you to do more research on the topic, and to avoid odd insults.
@@nuc if they weren't relevant anymore, there wouldn't be fakes out there en masse, which are only getting better and more indistinguishable from the real thing. And TT wouldn't be releasing X remakes of classic plastic gen Beys if they weren't relevant anymore. And finally, there would be no scam to expose if the earlier versions weren't still popular and worth investing a large amount into copying. As for the whole sponsorship thing, whales on social media either are sponsored industry plants or they have a shit ton of viewers and they earn back all the expenses they invest into these products. Rest of us don't have that kind of cash flow, so nostalgia needs to not be an expensive luxury for us.
It's sad that a lot of people trust that the "midfakes" are legit but with a different mold. I'm collecting from years, getting a bunch of beys from Japanese auctions, and I can tell that some midfakes have very bad performance, mainly beys with rubber parts (that ones are easier to recognize). Some friends have the theory that Takara sell the license of MFB beys to third party company, may have sense by the fact that mids have TT logo. Another interesting fact: Metal Fight was the only Beyblade saga that products were produced 100% in China, the same country of the "counterfeits"
I remember i had gotten a beyblade legends storm pegasus and a midfake rock leone. One hit, one hit was all it took for the the pegasus to destroy the fusion wheel and launch it towards the wall
but since takara tomy doesn't make metal beys anymore even if you buy original beys you won't be supporting them. instead you will be supporting those who had already bought them at a cheaper price and stocked them 8 years ago
Is this an issue for just Takara Tomy products or does it effect Hasbro products as well? Just ordered a Hasbro Beyblade last night, had no idea schemes like this were even possible. And if it is how can I tell it’s a midfake from the original version?
I did a lead test with my chem teacher to test if my midfakes had lead. We dissolved the beyblade in hydrochloride acid to see if there was any lead content but nothing happened. I did find that some paints could contain lead
Mfb is my favorite and I hate that the only way to get real ones is to pay 100+ dollars just for a a piece of metal and some plastic pieces that aren't even close to costing that much
I don't mind buying the midfakes at all...I know they aren't genuine. It's just really nice to be able to buy a new beyblade from my childhood. It's even better since I have adult money and can buy all the ones I wanted as a kid and not have to spend an arm and a leg to get an authentic used one.
I really wished Metal fight would get a resrugence I just like it overall the most. I recently got into Beyblade again, mostly Metal Fight. I love the customizability of beys and their looks and honestly speaking Metal Fight midfakes are cheaper for me to buy than Beyblade Bursts in my areas for some reason. Tho I would like to get into the newer gens, too if I had more money. But at the moment buying midfakes is the only way for me to get into metal fight beyblade without going completely broke. I do agree however that sellers should be more open about what their selling are midfakes, as seeing from the comments, Midfakes seem already very accepted. Honestly this could motivate TT and Hasbro maybe to revisit some of the older gens

If these midfakes can prove themselves to be of even slightly higher quality and durability than those of Rapidity and Flame, then I say let people use them, as long as they can be proven safe. Beyblade should be accessible to everyone, not just the hardcore collectors.
Midfakes dont have lead in them. So theyre okay to use in tournaments.
Tell that to plastic gen
We dont even get BAD fakes most of the time
facts
Worst part is that some of the ones u might buy might not even be real
Amen!
I think Beyblade should just re-release them
Real
Yeah. That argument about supporting the creators was incredibly stupid. If TT really cared they'd still produce them. Since they don't, that's too bad.
With respect, buying 100% authentic mfb beyblades off ebay or second-hand stores does not support the original creators. These products were either already purchased or sold to another store.
exactly this
From my experience, the people who buy fakes/midfakes do so because the original versions aren't sold in their region and getting one from overseas can get expensive. Maybe TT & Hasbro have an obligation to their fans from all regions that they can afford the original products.
True, Brasil has no way to buy official Takara tomy beys in country and buying from outside makes them ludicruosly expensive like would you rather pay 250 dollars for a takara tomy Nemesis or pay 50 for a midfake one that's basically the same fucking thing?
that's true, I'm getting back into it but I bought midfakes because the prices are so outlandish sometimes
True
@@nucI have heard that takara tomy has given licence for midfakes
@@nucyep
@@harshbhatia3069 i feel like that makes sence bc if im not mistaken tt hasn't said anything about the midfakes, they are 100% aware of this so if they are fake then why not say it? for me i think its true about midfakes getting the license
A little late to the party there, but a very informative and important video for the community nonetheless.
As a collector myself I have gone through the struggles of identifying them apart in the past so I will list some tips here:
For new in box listings:
(This is one of the ways I tell midfakes when looking at photos of listings, when code is not shown)
3. Location of item - best avoid ones from Taiwan and China as these are where the midfakes factories are at.
4. Sometimes they have sample photos of the contents, in which case use the tests below.
For second hand listings and beys you already own:
5. Facebolt tattoo - is off-centered for midfakes
Another one you can tell from TT and Hasbro compare to a fake, The screws they use.
I BUYED AN ORIGINAL TAKARA TOMY BEY ON ALIEXPRESS HOW(I think because I dont have the box)
So what if buying metal fight beys online do I make sure that it's price starts at least $20.00? To make sure it's legit
I don't understand if they can print codes why not print 11 instead of 12 ,13 ,14?
Which site?
Will it ship to UAE or India?
I dont really see how its a scam, you are getting an unofficial replica of something that isnt made anymore, if it performs the same as a legit bey which it does, and if it doesnt have lead which it doesnt, and can be used in tournaments which they can, then it just seems like you want people to pay over $30 for a rare bey because you think it supports tt. There doesnt really seem like theres a reason to not buy these so yea.
Also the parts are the same with the original in those midfakes while some rapidity beys for example don't even have the right parts💀
Fr this isn’t a “billion dollar scam” its pretty much like buying a hasbro beyblade
@@bruno_3020shade💀
lol this if for all the people who sat on their unopened genuine TT beys thinking they were gonna resell them for $1000 😂
For beysandbricks, it is extremely easy to tell if it's a midfake.
rapidity?
Never but rapidity, they are really shiny, almost gold, and they seem to be really cheap, go to the midfakes ones who seem to be the real takara tomy ones

Are there any authentic sites that sell good midfakes?
With international shipping
Midfakes are insane, but I can confirm that midfakes don't exist for plastic gen, and burst is safe for now
burst is boing to be over soon, eventually the only way will be midfakes after all actual produced ones are gone
That’s the main issue. Companies putting “genuine” when it’s not. If people are aware of what they’re buying… then it’s MUCH more ethical.
Idk why Takara Tomy or Hasbro hasn't capitalized on this. Clearly a lot of people still care about metal fight era of Beyblade.
They are, but instead of remaking them, they are producing the metal fights beys in burst version.
@@renatotavares9452 yea it’s not the same but I do enjoy X
“Buying mid fakes doesn’t support the creators” well….that’s what happens when the creators stop selling them lol
Technically you are not scammed if you get what you pay for.
If it's fake then you won't experience the real beyblade + it has lead so you might, I don't know DIE?
@@ryugathestrongest The last part is false, a used authentic Beyblade in good-mint condition is easily better than a midfake.
There's nothing wrong with midfakes. they're safe, tournament standards, good quality and affordable
@@Chriscraft-ug3sz it's hard to tell honestly with how much paint is on the midfakes lol

I can't afford the real ultimate valkryie and I might get the flame one but I am wondering if they have lead or not
FYI: not a lot of people know, those fake beys are not allowed to be sold in the USA, they are harmful to children, The fakes are not CPC approved (children product certificate) all toys MUST be CPC approved if they are intended for children under 12.
As far as I know Midfakes don't exist for Plastic Gen/HMS and Burst. It's honestly an MFB exclusive kind of thing.
the thing is, they are competitively allowed and that itself is already a dub tbh
I buy midfakes off of beystation and i knew they were midfakes before I even bought them
When people in discord servers ask me if they should buy off of beystation I say yes but warn them that they are indeed midfakes
If y’all have a problem with this then please reply with your reasoning
As far as I’m concerned as long as you buy it knowing it’s a midfake and you don’t try and pass it as the real thing it’s fine
What is the quality of those mod fakes ?
@@iamgar6age insanely close to the quality of real TT and Hasbro beys. They’re a bit lighter and definitely would recommend getting a TT or Hasbro if you can find it cheaper than a midfake but mids are great for having fun with
It’s the company’s fault that makes beyblades. Their decision to discontinue making these with so much demand is on them. I do not care if buying these beys doesn’t support takartoymi, if they wanted my money they should’ve made the beys I wanted.
I mean, how do you even buy legit beys if they actually stopped producing them?
If you see a Beyblade that cost $1 million is obviously a scam no piece of plastic should cost that much
Conclusion: Fun can't be fake or midfake or original....
👍🏻
Idc im buying mistakes no reason for a beyblade to be 300
Today is 2022, which is 14 years after Metal Fight saga debuted (The pre hybrid wheel lineup debut in 2008, then in 2009 comes the Hybrid Wheel system and Anime that we all come to know)..... or specifically 10 years after metal fight 4D ended so even without the knowlegde of midfakes people should've guessed that these so called "Takara Tomy" or "Hasbro" ones selling at that kinda price today is no way the real deal.
(Depending on bey, ones with particular anime significance are extremely high price, while insignificant but competitively amazing beys can go for under 10 dollars)
Mfb and burst are just expensive.
True, is they did a rerelease then it'd be fine, but obviously they wont
The entire plastics scene would be in heaven if we could get a Dranzer GT rerelease
Yeah I’m just a casual player, and I often buy midfakes cause they are really affordable
Flame brand is already a billion dollar company by now ..
The reason why people (including me) want to buy midfakes is because they are cheaper, I don`t have 30 dollars per beyblade to spend, end of story.
I'm still messed up finding out my flame libra is fake
I tend to buy midfakes but honestly don't mind them, I buy them cause out of 50 only 2 of my beyblades were real so I plan to expand on midfakes cause atleast I get the similar experience for cheaper and without lead. Obviously I wouldn't condone buying or selling fakes but you have to understand someone's viewpoint.
Honestly I kind of like mid fakes. Its hard now days to get the real deal and if you just want to battle than their petty good.

I’ve only had one metal fight back in my life and I’ve just found out it was fake because it came with the wrong stuff. The tip was the same tip on lightning L Drago when it was meant to be the rubber tip on storm, Pegasus and yes, I bought storm Pegasus, it was fun to use
the fact that fake db beys have more details than Hasbro qd beys 💀💀
Where can I find real metal series beyblades
I've only bought a handful of midfakes by accident. And after talking to some people about them they are not the worst thing to buy. Some are barely different than the real ones. My mid fakes that I've bought always worked properly
The only ones I’d say you really have to get legit ones for are Meteo L Drago and Phantom Orion. I had a midfake Orion for years before I knew about these and got a real one recently and the difference is night and day. The Bearing Drive on the midfake might as well be stationary in comparison to the real deal
Like you said , when we buy fakes we are obviously not suporting takaratomy or hasbro but in order to support them they should start making old beys again with a resonable price so people who are in to old gen beys can support them again and just have fun without worrying if ther fake or not
Why don't takara Tomy re-release metal fight Beyblade with reasonable pricing cause there is basically high demand for them
That might happen in gen 4
eBay says they don’t allow for counterfeit items yet their listings are full of fakes😂.
I prefer to buy burst beys because mid fakes of metal fight makes very dificcult to buy a real one.
Bought a Twisted Tempo once, well turns out the Ring was hollow and litterally lighter than a flame ring.
Olay but to be fair it’s not my fault Tomy released mf when I was 8 and I couldn’t afford it back then. Now they don’t even make em anymore
Yeah bro buying beyblades that havent been in production for 10 years off scalpers for 100x the price is helping the manufacturers. Like what?
Try buying from beys and bricks
Well only Beyblade fandom is the only fandom that is killing itself from lead poisoning and that is sad ngl😢
I was able to tell it's the midfake because it looked the newest. Not because of anything else. Scary.
Who....in this World..is buying a fucking Beyblade 1.000.000 Dollar🤦♂️?
the sad thing is that it’s so hard to find real ones and it will take a very long time to find a real one
but if they arent i production anymore then how the hell u wanna support beyblade otherwise than buying it and bring other people to get beys.
For me it's at the point where I don't even consider what real Beys to buy. It's about what midfakes are good quality to play with and it shouldnt be like that. Either the new beyblade gens should have better designs or they should just remake the metal beys
Do you know any midfake sellers that offer decent quality beys without lead in them?

How can you support TT when they don't make Metal fight beys anymore and people that have original TT or Hasbro want like $60 to $80 for 1 bey
I would love an official reprint of metalfight beys.
but since takara tomy doesn't make metal beys anymore even if you buy original beys you won't be supporting them. instead you will be supporting those who had already bought them at a cheaper price and stocked them 8 years ago
5:51- wait people nowadays dont use the term rapidity anymore?
Is this an issue for just Takara Tomy products or does it effect Hasbro products as well? Just ordered a Hasbro Beyblade last night, had no idea schemes like this were even possible. And if it is how can I tell it’s a midfake from the original version?
I’m not sure about that. I know Takara for sure but Hasbro may be affected as well, it’s much more rare though.
I didn't even know this was still a thing.... Back in my youth we had to worry about Sunokong and TT hongli beyblades in the plastics generation.
I'm sure sonokong is fine as it's takara tomys Chinese or Korean company
7:11 literally every one is looking through this Reddit list for their codes. This list carries hard
Exactly, midfakes aren’t even that bad either depending on where you buy them
Hey, did you get that Diablo nemesis from Beysandbricks?
No, I bought off of eBay. I know people that have bought off beysandbricks tho
We should make a petition so Takara Tommy and Hasbro start up production for metal fight beyblades again, I miss them
I really wished Metal fight would get a resrugence
I just like it overall the most.
