Jungkook did a very good job here. After the show they said his in-ear wasn't working, that's why he took it out in the beginning and kept fiddling with it. He couldn't hear anything properly.
Yes, and in fact the problems continued into the BTS group performance with Charlie right after this. The problem caused pitch issues for the other members, which is honestly a testament to how JK and Charlie were able to pull this off as well as they did.
7:15 lol it’s the original key… jungkook just has an insanely powerful falsetto… ive never heard someone have such a strong and stable falsetto like he does… so combine that with Charlie’s falsetto being very light and airy…and it makes it seem like Charlie’s struggling more … but it’s also just how they both have wildly different vocal techniques. Jungkook def wouldn’t have been asking them to change the original key of the song for him lol especially bc his range is huge and he sings comfortably up and down his range effortlessly
Funny, right, because I saw a "vocal instructor" react to this performance last week and she said Charlie's voice was more flexible than JK's, and she came across as finding fault with JK here. Crazy to have that take, in my opinion.

There’s another video released for BTS’ anniversary where JK and Jimin actually did a cover of the Charlie/Selena version of this song. There were technical issues. BTS came up right after and sang one of their songs with Charlie and the technical issues continued in that performance too.
There were some technical problems, it was crazy, bc next was "Fake love" with all BTS and Charlie and everyone sounded so bad and I mean like they miss timing and pitch was all over the place. Chaos and bc JK sing a little before and knew there us something wrong he adjusted so he was ok but I remember watching it live then and be like 😮 what's going on....
I remember this when they did it. Jungkook had issues with his earpiece and had a wisdom tooth out a couple of days beforehand. They both did great! ✌️💜
This was also 1 of like 6 performances for jungkook of the night… and I think he somehow adjusted bc then they sang fake love with Charlie and BTS but the other members were super off and it was a hot mess but jungkook sounded great… it was annoying . You should hear them singing that acapella

That whole award show was a mess. Not only were the in ears way off during this and the BTS - Charlie performance. The whole show was just... Off. It was a new created show, and this, I think, was the first and last time BTS attended
