I love how Wendy is portrayed as a good neighbor instead of the stereotypical grouchy or snobbish "I'm stuck next to these weirdos" type. She likes the Heelers and knows they're good parents who love playing with their kids. She just doesn't know what to expect from them and can only manage so much of their chaos at once.
@@michelleroubideaux7085 even more impressive considering Judo was born right around the same time, according to Baby Race, so she must've been either a new mom herself or VERY pregnant at the time. Dang, Wendy.
Also the fact that some of her reactions aren’t even off or annoyed on specific scenarios. Like Bandit wiping his bum against the window, Bandit peeing outside, Chili and Bandit dragging an invisible dead body to the trunk, her reacting to Bandit dancing around the mailbox. She’s not a bad character nor does this make her “character development.” She’s just a lovely neighbor who isn’t used to surprising unexpectations.
I started this video questioning why Bandit was paralyzed, then immediately as soon as I accepted it he started acting like a sheep. This show is an out-of-context goldmine.
Bandit paralysed is from episode rag doll Bandit acting as a sheep is from “sheep dog” The last one where they are acting as mafia I dunno , I’m guessing gthe closest is mailman?
Agreed, and we've seen how she is as a mom when it comes to Judo, plus seeing her in the Heelers' nonsense is fantastic, like when she is helping Bandit into the car when he can't move XD Or her antics with his sheep act
I like how they explore further on Wendy. We learn that she's actually a friendly neighbour to the Heelers, just easily freaked when she walks into - what she doesn't expect.
Her friendliness was mentioned before this. In season 2 episode Sticky Gecko, Chilli mentions that when Bluey was born Wendy helped out a lot (gave them trays of Lasagna etc.). That's saying a lot since Wendy herself has a daughter Bluey's age, and it's implied that she's a single parent.
This family does go hardcore on the pretend. Luke’s dad getting attacked by the mum and Bingo pretending to be lions was hilarious. Completely understanding that they were dragging him off and it was all a game, despite at no point being told or warned what was happening and just being ambushed in his yard
I think because this show focuses on building healthy relationships, chilli and bandits is the perfect foundation relationship. Jealousy has no place in their relationship because they’re open and honest with one another and respect each other. They’re basically teaching how a good relationship between two parental units/ romantic relationship should be
1:29 I like how Bandit said “youdidntseeanything!” To Wendy like they just put a dead body in the car, and Wendy was just like “oohhhhh! 😨” like she just saw something inappropriate
I guess Wendy has learned to just roll with the Heelers' antics. I mean, she doesn't do it naturally as Pat does, but at least she doesn't get as wierd out as she used to. That, just for itself, is a great character development.
Something I love about this show is that it does a good job of illustrating 'it takes a community.' Wendy is helping raise the Heeler kids, and Bandit and Chilli are doing the same to raise Judo, and everyone respects each other's parental styles when it comes to the kids in question (Wendy is perfectly happy to play along with the Heeler shenanigans because that's how they want to raise their daughters, and she's happy to help).
I frickin love Wendy. When you first see or hear her, you think she another posh rich character, who dosnt like dirt and is obsessed with herself, but knowing she comes from a farm (I think), she regularly gets involved in the healers antics, and is quite strong, she’s got to be one of my favourite characters
Wendy is a really underrated character. Though she’s mainly known for being the “normal” neighbor there’s more to her. She does get annoyed and baffled by the Heelers antics (which is very funny) but she’s also really nice to them despite that. Ragdoll is great showcase of this where her first reaction to seeing Bandit on the stairs is going over and asking if he’s okay and then she helps the kids get their ice cream. That episode made me love Wendy’s character and I’m really hoping we can get more of her helping out the kids when Bandits messing with them as it’s a really fun dynamic.
This is the sequel we all needed, the one where Wendy was not putting up with it any longer. Also the one where Wendy found out that Chilli and Bandit are murderers.
