How To Install And Update Your Printer Drivers
Drivers cause a lot of headaches for a lot of people. Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause your PC to become unstable and crash. Updated drivers can contain bug fixes, stability improvements, and even new features and capabilities. When it comes to your printer, you need to update drivers primarily if you're running a new version of an operating system or if you experience printing problems. I'll use Windows to show you how to find an outdated printer, and I'll show you how to download the updated one from the manufacturer's Website using HP.com as an example.
Windows uses drivers to communicate to various hardware devices connected to your computer, including printers and scanners. Printer manufacturers provide drivers with their products, but also update older drivers to optimize them and add new features. To get the latest version of the driver, roll back the driver to an earlier version or even remove the driver, you must use the Device Manager utility. Sometimes, rolling back the printer driver solves some problems introduced by a new driver version.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems. Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).

What do I do if the manufactuer that my printer is isn't listed? My printer is a dell, but the only options listed are "Manufacturer, Generic, and Microsoft"
I already did the "windows update" option and nothing new showed up. Any help?
All real nice except what if the printer is a NEW Design by HP and you have an old Win 7 laptop, so the NEW Printer does NOT Come up in the list?
Still won't print, after I followed the first instructions on control panel... When I try install the driver on Cannon it says printer not detected. Please help

Great info HOWEVER after hours of trying I unplugged (AC) my printer, waited 5 seconds and plugged it back in. Wala it worked. TRY THIS FIRST!

Do you have to uninstall the current drivers before downloading new ones?
Some printers do not print what we want. They have a security system. Can we break it or decode it? When I print, it refuses and sends me a link. Is there a solution to decode it?

I own an HP photosmart C3180 all in one printer and just got off the phone with HP tech support where they told me that the driver(s) for my HP photosmart C3180 are no longer available and when I tried to download the HP printer software, I got a message that said "Unable to find a core driver package that is required by the printer driver package" . Can you assist or give me any viable solutions? Thanks.

I have tried to re-install my Canon MX495 drivers but for some weird reason after i unistalled them from Control Panel, i downloaded the drivers from the canon website and now everytime i install they simply do not show up on my control panel nor my printer or scanner is regocnized. Any ideas?

Recently s tarted to say _Driver is unavailable,_ before I watched this vid. It's an Officejet 250, worked pretty well for a few months (it's also a few months old too)

I am trying to install a brother 1450 printer driver on my laptop which has Windows 10. The message I get is that the driver is not available. Can someone assist? One of the msg I got was the driver is built into Windows. My Windows does not display this printer. Is there another driver which may work. How do I resolve this.
