Los-Angeles native Connie Lim, better known as MILCK, has been singing for as long as she can remember. She began crafting her talent at a young age by enrolling in classical piano and opera classes. Inspired by artist from Frederic Chopin to Radiohead and Imogen Heap, she experienced something of an awakening in her college's underground piano rooms.
While her song "Devil Devil" hit success, it wasn't until her anthem "Quiet" made waves at the 2017 Women's March and on the internet, garnering over 14 million Facebook plays in 2 days and sparking the #ICanttKeepQuiet movement.
With the goal to help people feel empowered, she sings for the relentless, the vulnerable, and the brave.
Sisters, now is the time to raise our voices even louder than we have in the past. No more tyranny.
This song helped me find the courage in 2017 to press charges against the superintendent of the private Christian school I was raised in who touched me inappropriately when I was 15 or 16. Thank you.
Yess!! Congrats on your courage!
5 years later this is even more relevant and even more powerful. Please bring this song back at the protests for womens rights. It’s so powerful.
I just watched this years later and I'm right back in the total trauma and terror of 2016-2020. The song is beautiful. Women's resistance is beautiful. What's happening to us now? SO ugly.
Beautiful! I've been marching since I knew marching wasn't just walking. In 1965, as a college student, for racial equality, in 1970, as a graduate student, against the Vietnam War, in 1973, as a mother of four, in favor of Roe v. Wade - and for years later for it all to be a real, real, reality. Never have we needed more these marches and these voices. Be Invovled, my fellow citizens!
You're a true hero. Never give up fighting for what you believe in.
5 years on. This song needs a resurgence!!
This hits different right now.
I've been canvasing in Philadelphia for Harris and I don't want to go back to this dark time.
This man is a proud feminist. Can't have freedom without equality.
I marched with my Mother in the '70's for sadly the same reasons women turned out for this event. I stumbled across this on Facebook. This song could be, and in my opinion should be an anthem. Searching now how to properly buy this song from the artist so she can find the funds to sing this everywhere.

I want to be this acapella version though!! Something about this version just gets me so amped, ready to take this issue on, empowering, mad, angry, and a whole bunch of other feelings. I need this version on my spotify playlist ASAP.

Britt Farquhar She's working on it! They will have an accapella version soon!
Britt Farquhar She's working on it she said, "sit tight"!
I'm 14 and I'm a feminist and this song gives me so much hope 💜💜 I love it 💕👌
#icantkeepquiet 👏👏
This is no longer the fight of a single person or group.
"An attack on one, is an attack on us all." This song reminds us that the only way for us to be heard is to not be quiet. This is the time of civil disobedience 💪💪 if we stand up to unjust ideas, morals, and laws together, we will watch as they fall and crumble, while we, the people will be stronger than ever!!!🙏🙏
this song makes me cry from all of the strength
I am crying again watching it today. Time the spirit here is respected!
The same here in 2024
Our government, as well as the Women's March participants, and the public should be proud of such a beautiful and loving message wound throughout the lyrics of this song.
I'm the odd-ball woman who ran up and hugged you at LAX before the protest began (maybe there were many!). Anyway, as I said to you there - you, young lady, are so beautiful; and that voice! Thank you for this song. Thank you.
Thank our dear Lord I found your beautiful people! I feel so connected and BLESSED! What a gift! Thank you will never be enough!💓💓💓
A timeless Anthem for survivors and the oppressed. So beautiful and strong. For any year and any age.
Thank you, MILCK and GW Sirens. We have yet to see what the impact will be of your peaceful & courageous performance.
have been fighting and marching since the 60's. I literally cried on Sat. as I wondered if younger women even realized what was being lost if the younger ones do not take the torch. thanks so much
Who else gets a little teary-eyed? I am so into this
I remember you I thank the Creator for you I still remember this and I will never forget your song
Means the world to me!
@@MILCKmusicI have actually shared your song with medicine women in the Lakota nation. I love you I pray for you and I thank God for you. I'm the one who can't keep quiet either LOL
What's him running for office again maybe we should do another March was you leading us all with your big beautiful heart
I nominate this song to be #WomensMarch's anthem!!! "put on a face.... shut up and smile...." so true!!! how many time Hillary Clinton was told to smile?!?!?! #StrongetTogether ✊✊✊✊
etphonegemini so true👏👏 but luckily, Hillary knows that "...there is someone who understands..."
#womxnrightsarehumanrights #alllivesmatter #nastywoman 👊👊
Maryam Abbani and she defended the rapist
Maryam Abbani they only acknowledge stuff that fits their agenda.
A year and a half later when things are looking pretty dark again, I'm back here for hope and inspiration. What an amazing song!
And now it's 5 years later and we KNOW his wish is coming true 😓😫😡
The truth & strength of this & these women never fails to cause tears of hope & joy roll down my 70yr old activist face
This is so beautiful. I cannot describe the range of emotions this has made me feel. Thank you to you and all the beautiful women who joined you to sing this ❤️
This gives me chills and a whole range of other emotions every time I listen to it. Bloody brilliant!
commenting to say that I'm listening to this in Austria! You're reaching people all over the world with this! Beautiful song
Still relevant, still powerful and beautiful!
Wow! All of you are amazing! Thank you for your beautiful work, and for standing up
Please put QUIET on iTunes. I want to listen on repeat!!!
Sara Kenigsberg it's on iTunes and soundcloud!! I read on Twitter they'll be recording this Acapella version too!! The lyrics are on Milck's RUclips video of it!! Can't stop listening to it!! My daughter said "my god, it's got momma singing again, finally!!" 😊
It's on spotify too!
Elaine, it's got me humming it throughout the day, too. I listen to it daily--this song , and the covers of it that I am seeing posted by young women online, are what's been getting me through the last few days.
k owens I'm the same!! Another a-cappella version by these wonderful women was on Samantha Bee's show last week! (Should be in your recommended videos for this one!) Not ALL of the ladies were there, but it looked like most of them. I keep checking MILCK/Connie Lim's Twitter (haven't checked today yet, sorry!) to see if their studio version has been done/released yet. I've got my daughter addicted to it but I can't convince her to do a RUclips video...for someone who has no problem performing at clubs, in studios or at festivals; she refuses to put anything online. Lol, she's not even on social media. I guess she hears enough about it from me & her siblings, she just prefers her privacy.
elaineg60 MILCK has offered alternate lyrics for one of the lines to make it kid-friendly: "don't spread your wings". I suspect those words apply to many adult singers, too!
Time for an encore considering the current state of affairs
I am absolutely in love with this song and its meaning!! It's beautiful xx
Keep striving for the goal… it will come
Beautiful! Such an empowering song. You have a gift. 💜☮
This is so beautiful. Women have been kept down since the dawn of time. It would be amazing if the world as a whole would realize we hold up HALF the sky. #ICANTKEEPQUIET
I heard this song for the first time yesterday during a metoo manifestation i Sweden. I was one of the speakers and this song sums up how I feel when talking about the child abuse and domestic violence that I personally have experienced. Thank you.
Thank you. Please keep singing. For me the spirit of this song some sums up my wonderful day at the march.
♥️♥️♥️
I just saw MILCK live during a tour of Hello Sunshine in Cincinnati (November 10th, 2018). Every year for my school talent show, I sing a song that questions the world and what's going on in society. Last year I sang Ignorance by Kasey Chambers. This year I am definitely singing this song! No doubt about it!
Such a beautiful anthem on it's own, but these voices together convey so much more than just words. This is for all the women who can't speak. This is our anthem. This is our time
#icantkeepquiet
This really hits different in 2022. I'm so profoundly sad and terrified.
Wonderful....inspirational...Empowering...uplifting.....Never ever stay quiet....speak out for yourself and others ☝️
Still watching this today... Your movement through this anthem has created a much more open environment for survivors everywhere to speak out & stand together through movements like the #MeToo campaign. Your voices will continue to echo for many years to come as legislation & people strive to fight against misogynistic ways & the violence in our culture. I continue to stand w/ you all! 🙌🏽❤️✊🏽 #ICantKeepQuiet
This video still brings tears to my eyes. There's so much emotion in every face and every voice. Truly beautiful.
Thank You, NPR, for introducing me to this powerful song.
2021 and lowkey still not over how her buzzfeed video song debut "we write one thing we want to change in the world" video was treated and dragged by butthurt "men". It was inclusive, featured women from all races and orientations and brought up relevant issues, and the fact that its Buzzfeeds most disliked videos and they never addressed the controversy still makes me sick to my stomach and really helped open my eyes to the importance of activism and protests. This woman's such an admiral person to keep going!!
Thank you.
beautiful and so much harmony with one another! you guys are inspiring women, Thank you for representing us during the march.
Powerful. This song will make history.
Those sopranos are giving me chills.
thank you all of you woman for marching.
Thank you
Yeah! Amazing energy!! Women unite - it's just that simple.
Thank you for writing such a great song that expresses how so many folks feel. And thank you all for taking the time to put this together--and online!-- for those of us who could not be there to hear you live on Saturday. I just want to give you all a big hug!
Every movement needs its iconic songs. Maybe this is it for the WMW and beyond?
What a beautiful, sensory experience. Thank you.
Absolutely love this song!! Must sing this at my next rally :)
SO INSPIRING. HaPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!!!!!
04mscentrum 9 to 90? As a poet? I did change the word to "wings, " too---That way, it's Universal.... more and more, it can be sung!!
There is a quote that I think it's by Jerry Seinfeld and the gist of it is that sometimes the right people come together at the right time to create just the right thing and it's something amazing.
Nothing but love. I'm with y'all.
see that you do not. These jackals need their come-upins. Wonderfully done.
I understand 💗 too well. Through song, you've put to words the thoughts the feelings my body, my soul just couldn't find way to express...until now 💕 Thank you!!! Silent no more.
Wonderful women! You have Aussie support!!
Powerful!
I didn't know this song. I wish you publish this choir version sometime. I really like it way more than the original arrangement.
I love this song so so much. It's given me so much strength. Thank you for using your voice to give us this empowering song.

I shared this with my grand daughter.
beyond amazing. thank you thank you for this song for this time-- for the tears, for the possibility- for the look on the young women' faces in my group that i faciitate- when i showed them this video- for the spontaneous tears that just rolled down theirs and my faces in recognition...the sounds of souls in the process of liberation.. i happened on you singing at LAX.. and got to hear this right there.. and it stopped me in my tracks.. like truth is in the house. thank you.
@Kathleen Murphy, beautifully and well said.
This song speaks to me more than any other song I have heard in a long time. including any song I have written myself. Thank you for writing it! Thank you for sharing it. And I love how you made a singing flash mob. Awesome.
True Strength

#OneWomanRiot ❤
obsessed with this song!
This is incredible! I'm so happy this song was written and shared with so many.
Heard this song on the Cloak and Dagger soundtrack, knew it was familiar sounding. Then I realised it was the second time it'd been used to accompany a superhero team.
i love your music, especially this song. Thank you for singing not just for women, or for Asian Americans, but for all of us who are just hoping to be heard, and understood.
This moved me to tears....so strong, I absolutely love it!
Thats Real Strength
Literally beautiful 💕 this songs been stuck in my head and im totally cool with it you are my idol 😘
*standing ovation*
love this acapella version. great message!
I'm so glad I found this, I first heard it on that radio station: K-rap.
I'm proud of this younger generation that has taken up the cause. It seemed for so long that many were against feminism, making it a dirty word when it's not at all.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this so much, your song is inspirational! Love from Holland
What an amazing powerful song and yes it did bring tears to my eyes lots of tears I'm not afraid to say it
I want this version on repeat always
Truly inspiring and powerful. Beautiful!

Congratulations!! This is an amazing and uplifting moment for all humanity XOXO Thank you for your beautiful work @MILCK.
Thanks for singing this past weekend in DC before the march! Loved it!
Love you ladies...keep on keepin' on
Goosebumps. The best kind.
I'd never heard of this singer before but just heard her interviewed on the public radio show, "Q". She sounds like a very interesting person and she has a gorgeous voice. She performed the song on the show, but I wanted to see some video from the Women's March they were all talking about where they did the flash mob singing.
Omg I heard this on the news or something a long time ago and I just found it YASSSS my mind can rest now that I know what it is
Absolutely the anthem of #TheResistance
Beautiful. Powerful.
MATRIOTS!! YEAH!
Respect, from the bottom of the heart. 🥀
