Please note, the bananas that were made were made for me to use for my meals for the family. Therefore I did not use gloves (who uses gloves when making breakfast lunch or dinner). The product I make to sell I do use gloves.

I’ve seen ppl have the whole banana sliced and put on the trays right in the side. So they get more yield. Have you tried that? Any difference?

Parchment paper is nice and you can reuse it over and over as long as it stays clean and you use it on the same items. I have wanted a freeze dryer since they came out but never had the money to buy one..now I have the money and feel too old to use one lol..but I like watching other people freeze drying different things to see what works for them..thanks!

I have a bunch of things to try still. Kinda slacked last year when the wife got pregnant because she couldn’t handle smells. But now I’m back to it and trying a bunch of other things.

Glad the video was helpful! I used just the tray for a good 4 batches and it was super frustrating getting them off. now with the parchment and the silcone they just pop right off.

I have always used parchment paper and the only thing I don’t like is cutting it to fit the tray each time. Thank for the comparison. I think I will look into the silicone Matt’s just so I can save on time. I’m assuming they clean up really easy. 💜💜

You can get parchment sheets to fit your tray - perfect fit, no waste pieces. I have silicone and parchment and generally use the parchment for ease of use for stuff that sticks.

  • @sedevacantist1

I could only find parchment cut to size (large tray) for 30 cents each with shipping, which is $1.50 per batch. Parchment paper for baking trays is a lot cheaper and they are much larger, If I owned one of those big paper-cutting machines I would go that route.

    • @hanginwiththebryants

I usually get parchment paper from sams club and just use scissors or a knife and cut mine to fit the tray.

Problem with silicone as you have to wash it each time I’d rather just work with the paper it probably cost me the same for paper as it does for water and effort to wash the silicone

    • @hanginwiththebryants

I agree. I used the Silicone for a week and it's a pain to wash. I just get big rolls of parchment paper from sams club and cut it to size.

You waisted the parchment paper. Parchment paper can be used multiple times. At least twice as long as you're doing more of the same food. Depending on what type of food I'm baking I've gone as far as using one sheet 4 times. I wipe it off with a paper towel in between uses.
