Wish we had mines like this in Georgia. Most of the large mines I’ve explored here in Georgia are talc, marble and soapstone mines. The gold rush here didn’t last long, so our gold mines are smaller. Great video.
@@Kennerunderground Keep up the good work. Thanks for watching my channel. I just had total knee replacement surgery in December. So, I've been out of commission for a few months. Hopefully, I'll be back exploring in the next couple of months. I've got a lot of information I have to look into in my area.
One of my favorites. its funny how such an amazing mine gets 1k views. i got down to the water, got off rope and it all started to collapse, was scary and very little air down there
Forgive me for the silly question, but how do you not get turned around, and lost?? It just looks like a crazy honeycomb to me. What were they mining there?
No such thing as silly questions! Getting lost.. well it hasn’t happened to me yet! We can almost always tell where we are by using natural indicators in the mine. They aren’t just honeycomb tunnels that are random. Most mines are similar. They will almost always have a main haulage drift. These drifts are the biggest and tallest. They normally have big ore chutes running through them so if we are in this tunnel, the way out is normally right behind us. If a mine is really confusing we will use the right hand rule meaning we will turn right at every new drift we come across. If you stick to this rule you will have eventually gone through every drift and you will find your way out of the mine. But normally we always know where we are using natural markers- ore chutes, miners graffiti, artifacts etc..
Once we got down to those ore cars, that was the deepest we all went. So from the start of the video, down to the ore car, we climbed 400 feet of ladder. If you tag the time stamp I can tell ya better
The time stamp is 19:49! Your friend was talking about how deep it was, wasn’t sure if you guys went down it. I know this mine. Did you guys have to slip through the grate out front that closes this mine off? 😂
These tunnels been here 1000s of years ... there been all kinds of resets ... before they had better technology than we have now ... hence why these tunnels go on for so long
We record our natural reactions and sometimes we don’t really know what we say or what we are going to say. It’s a bad habit I know. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I’m working on it!
You deserve a lot more views man 👊
This is my favorite comment. Thank you man!🤘
It's neat that the ore cars are so deep nobody has vandalized them, great find, bucket list item
This was an amazing adventure, look forward to more, and phenomenal video also!
It was a sweet adventure. We’ll do something big like this again no doubt 😉

That's a beautiful footwall. Too bad the ladder doesn't go anywhere
It looked too enticing. Our friend was willing to check it out for us but yea he said it didn’t go very far.
Wow very cool! Did you end up going down the crazy big ladder drop off your friend pointed out?

a fire and the sheave wheel is still in place?! What's next, the windlass isn't gone?
the hoist motor and resistor banks haven't been scrapped for copper?!?! wth
Yea it’s normally it’s all gone! I do think a lot of had been taken apart already though

Don't you fear the Lord? His name is Holy it should be treated as Holy. I hear people taking his name in vain all the time and I don't understand why.
