The structure in ice cream is extremely western, so i'm not sure i'd really consider it a pink song, I think it's distinct enough from the rest of the discography that it doesn't really fit in either group.

Joey, Blackpink's voices have always been unique and great but the way most of their title tracks you've listened to are heavy with complicated instrumentals might have overshadowed their true voices, plus they kinda use different singing techniques that may sound a bit strained, but their natural vocal ranges are more clear here esp Jennie, she's equally good as both a vocalist and a rapper. (My English is a pity sorry :p )

I think this is one of those songs that is really just meant to be taken at face value. There's no deep hidden meaning, no wild beat, just a straightforward summertime jam~ Sometimes that's enough, and of course people will feel differently about it, but it's nice to just have a cute, light "mindless" bop to just dance around and have fun to. I don't know really know what anybody who says this wasn't their (bp or selena's) best expected tbh. The teasers really gave the vibe of the song, and the full thing didn't veer too much away from that. I'm a casual Selena fan, but from everything I've heard (and seen), I don't think there was that much more that could be done without it being extremely far out of her zone and awkward. I think this was a nice balance between their very different styles, and while I def don't have it on repeat, I like it well enough for what it is.
